February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

in St Croix I just plan on getting off the ship to get pictures of the ship from on land and then prob just go back on the ship:lmao:

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We went to Sea World on Saturday. I also spent many frustrating hours trying to figure out how resynch my iPod on our new computer after our old computer crashed. I get nothing but error messages and I think I'm going to give up and start from scratch.

Congratulations Vanessa! That is so exciting! :goodvibes

I'm enjoying everyone's pictures and will have to find my own to post.

The reports from St. Croix do sound disappointing. I don't think there is much at all that we will be able to do there with our young kids so we'll probably stay on the ship. It's too bad, because St. Maarten was so fun, but it did not fit our schedule this year.

I'm not sure I'll make it to the early cruise meet, we are stuck with late seating dinner and my 3 year old son will never make it unless he naps. So after lunch, I have to take him back to the room and try to get him to sleep. And by 10:30 PM, the kids are sleeping in the room, I'm enjoying my verandah time and my DH is in the sports bar. But I still hope to see everyone around the ship! :thumbsup2

Vanessa, congratulations!!!! As for getting someone to drink your share of Bushwhackers, I'm sure you will find no shortage of volunteers willing to make that sacrifice. :lmao:

Good luck getting a "non-alcoholic" Bushwhacker, though... I just went back through the thread to find the recipe someone posted. Here it is:

Here is a recipe for Bushwackers from the VI: Equal parts of:

Rum
Vodka
Amaretto
Kahlua
Baileys
Coco Lopez (cream of coconut)

Blend with ice and top with nutmeg.

Sounds like you would end up with a glass of ice with nutmeg sprinkled on top... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

For St. Croix, Joanne and I will be doing the Salt River sea kayaking trip, the kids will stay on board. We will probbaly spend the afternoon on board as well, unless my brother drags me off to the Cruzan Rum distillery.

Have a great week, everyone!!

John

There is a program you can purchase online called TuneJack for $10. Install it on your new computer and then it will take all the songs from your (or anyones) iPod and load them onto your hard drive. No long sessions of reloading discs.

iTunes is a piece of crap though. I have had to do this twice as apple updates made my computer lose the path to my music. I almost threw my ipod against the wall before I remembered that I loved it.

Good luck!

So much to catch up on after only two days - I guess this is what our thread will be like for the next two months!!!

I think we'll look for a good beach on St. Croix and get there ourselves. Although Brenda - I'll see if Mark wants to do that screaming eagle excursion with Ron. But who will take pictures? Cause those could be priceless...:lmao:

The deep freeze is coming to DC soon so says the weather forecasters, so I agree that this trip cannot come fast enough.

And finally... to address the bathing suit shopping: I ordered two from Land's End on line. At least I can try them on in the terrible lighting of my own house by myself and not in the crazy flourescent dressing room lighting that would scare small children if they saw me. :scared1:

Okay - back to work for me. Busy week this week - may not be on the boards as much as I like...:sad2:

Oh, who am I kidding?!??!?:woohoo:

Ciao for now... Johnna

Well, I am a team player so I suppose I could take one (or 10) for the team.

It will be a little hard though... HAH!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks so much for the tip! I will try it. I'm about at my wit's end. I hate iTunes, too!

Vamessa, try to remember that every pregnancy is different.

I too live less than a mile from the beach but our beaches certainly look nothing like the beaches in the Caribbean. (Especially the water!) I can't wait to get that sand between my toes!

Let me clarify just a little. Since I live a mile from a beach with waves, usaly 3-5 foot sets, a beach that you can not at least body surf at is just flat out boring to me. But then we all have our reasons for going on this cruise. Mine is really just to relax, drink, and get paid for not working. Now I do not know about anyone else, but geting paid for not working is the best feeling in the world.

Oh, no need to clarify. Like you said we all have our own reasons for going on this cruise.

Hi we will also be joining you on the cruise. I'm Lawrence, my wife and our daughter who is 8 are so looking forward to the break from the winter

Woohoo! :cheer2: Another family joining us on the Bushwacker Bandito Cruise!!! Welcome cheflawrence & family! :wave2: :wave2:

Welcome cheflawrence!!:cheer2:

As you may have read - I'm compiling a list of information of the people on this board and sharing it with each other. So I'm going to send you a private message (also known as a PM) to ask for info to share.

To get your PM, scroll to the top of this page, and on the right just under the pic of the ship it says in bold "Welcome, cheflawrence" - the third line under that is a link that says "Private Messages" - go there, and there will be one from me.

Let me know if you need help with that. Looking forward to getting to know you better!!! Just jump right in!!

Ciao for now, Johnna

I found out that I'm pregnant! YAY! My husband, daughter and I are VERY excited!
I kinda freaked out though cause I thought I wasn't gonna be able to go on this cruise! But I was told that women who are more than 24 weeks can't sail. I'll only be 16 by time the cruise gets here, so I'm GOOD! So that's a relief!
BUT now I can't have a friggin' Bushwacker!! AHHHHHH!!!! So, that means everyone on here has to drink DOUBLE for me! Hey, you think they could make me a non-alcholic Bushwacker? That doesn't seem like much fun though...
Ok, you guys have to drink TRIPLE now.

Congratulations! I was pregnant on our last cruise and still had a sip or two of a Bushwaker. No need to not at least taste it!
