February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

Hey ejkjmom! We have you beat as we only have one stoplight in our little town. There are a couple of streets in town that you really have to watch as the cops really tend to patrol them.

And guess what? My DH farms too!!! We primarily raise beef cattle.

Spring is having a hard time getting here in Missouri. I could go for a nice long hot sunny cruise right about now!!!!

They moved to san Francisco in 1958. And the stink, the are the scum of the baseball world. Can you tell I am a Dodger fan.

who moved to san Francisco, last I checked NewYork Giants didn't move there, I was just at the football stadium the other night since you can park there when you go to Nets games.:cool1:

My bad. Since it was a baseball conversation ( you know, the sport of the gods) I thought that is what you were talking about. I guess I would not have goten that confused if you said New Jersey Giants.

why would, I call them the New Jersey Giants, yeah the Giants and the Jets do play in New Jersey, but we call them New York teams, New Jersey doesn't have a football team if you go by the names if you go by what state they play in New Jersey has two

DMMarla - I think you're missing some of Alan's sarcasm. Maybe he needs to use some smilies or something.:goodvibes

Or maybe it's an age thing - I knew exactly what he was talking about when he said the NY Giants moved to CA. Oh man...I'm old. I was at a training program a couple weeks ago and most of the people in the room were younger than me. The instructor asked how many of us knew the reference "Let's be careful out there" and only 4 of us (out of 20) raised our hands. :sad2:

Marla - I'll bet my bar tab that you have no idea what that reference is. If you do, I'll buy you a drink. NO CHEATING! :)

We are strictly dry land farmers...wheat, milo and some millet, so our busy time of year is just getting started...

Are you guys getting any of that flooding that we keep hearing about?? Hope not!!!! We would welcome some rain...but not that much!!

We can relate to small towns, my husband I both grew up in the same community and went to school together in a town that had a population of 400, and NO stop lights LOL!!!!!!!

We graduated with 12 kids in our high school class ;)
When we got married, we moved to the big ctiy LOL...yes the one with 4 stop lights :lmao: :lmao:

You are so right Johnna I was being sarcastic. You do have to admit it does raise an eyebrow that that teams call themself New York, when they don't even play in the state. Hear at home we love to make fun of The Loa Angeles Angeles of Anaheim. I mean this is so dumb:confused3 L.A. is a good 30 miles from Anaheim. the Angeles don't even play in L.A. County. I know it is all done for T.V. money, but it sure makes them sound stupid.

your right I do have no idea what that reference is, if it is anything about a baseball team, I just follow the Yankees and Mets, because they are New York teams and I just know the record nothing else about them besides who Derek Jeter is haha. If you asked me anything about Basketball any team any year I would be able to tell you in a matter of 5 seconds

No we don't but we have mosquitoes the size of footballs. :thumbsup2

We do a little crop farming--some corn and soybeans--but not much. We also combine fescue seed and put up lots of hay.

We have been having quite a bit of rain but we haven't had the flooding that other parts of Missouri have had recently.

Although our town only has one stoplight, we do have about 4000 people. DH and I were high school sweethearts. We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this summer. Our DS farms with us as well as DH's brother and his sons which is great so we can all take turns getting away if we want to.

DD is finishing her first year of teaching in a really small school about 15 minutes away from our home. It is a K-12 school with only about 140 students total! She came with us on our last 2 DCL cruises and doesn't like the fact that she has to work and can't go with us in 2009.

I remember those...unfortunately! I knew there was a reason we try not to go to NJ in the summer! :)

All - just a reminder to PM me or email me (jerseygirlstory@gmail.com) if you want to be added to the list of who's cruising. I'll email it around to everyone when more people respond.

What to tell me:
Your Dis name
Your real name (first is fine if you don't want to share last name too!)
If applicable: spouse name and kids' name(s) and age(s) at the time of cruise (not their current age) and anyone else you're cruising with (aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc)
Your cabin number (if you know it)
Where you live (eg. Kensington, MD)
Your email so I can send you the list!!
Early or late dining seating
Any special occassions or other celebrations on the cruise

That's all for now. Happy hump-day! :goodvibes

I know you got my PM. Did I leave anything out?

Johnna, I just sent you an email with our information. Please disregard the part that says we are staying on for the February 28 Eastern.

I forgot what thread I was posting on. I do that a lot.

Who all is going down the night before and where are you staying? We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites, It was nice.

Haven't made any definite plans yet although we were thinking about coming down 2-3 days earlier and staying at WDW with our DVC points. Our first cruise we stayed at the Quality Suites in Cocoa Beach and on the second we did a mini WDW trip pre-cruise.

tevagirl, I just noticed your countdown to a new grandbaby. How many grandkids do you have? Our DS is getting married this summer and I'm hoping for grandkids soon so I can spoil them with Disney!!!!!

Donna

we might be down and stay at universal instead of going to wdw been there so many times a nice change every now and then

Alan - yes, got your info. You're all set.

Tevagirl - got your email. I'm a little confused. Is the 2/28 Eastern your second half of your back to back? Or the first half? :confused3 Can you straighten me out?

dizzylizzy, donmil, hannyandalsmom, and dmmarla - I need your emails so I can email the list to you (it's an excel spreadsheet).

Also - as for pre-cruise plans, for now, the plan is to come down on Thursday and stay at the Residence Inn (free, on Marriott points). Although there is some "chatter" around here about spring training for either the Red Sox or Nationals. We'll figure it out at some point I'm sure.

Happy Saturday everyone! Around here it's baseball practice for DS and Coach Mark, and getting hi-def Direct TV installed this morning. Therefore, we may need to watch lots of sports this afternoon...:happytv:

Ciao for now! Johnna :wave2:

We have three. My oldest (daughter) has two boys, Alec (15) and Andrew (4). My youngest (son) has a seven yr old daughter and my middle (son) and his wife are expecting their first at the end of September. :woohoo:

I'm sorry, I was the one that was confused (and it happens quite often.) Yes, the Eastern is the second half.

Brenda,

Johnna and I are sitting at home on a rainy Sunday afternoon and just looked at your home town on Google Earth.

Tough to spot those stop lights. Just like the red light cameras that like me so much.
