February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

Hi again everyone!!

Hello to Dave and Michael also!! Welcome to the Bushwackers Club!!

Johnna, as far as the meet goes, COUNT ME IN!
My family and I will be there will bells on!

I'm happy I found you guys here on this board and talking to you all these months has made the time go by THAT much quicker. So I would never miss out on meeting you all face to face!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

PS:
Johnny Depp ROCKS! ;)

We did one two years ago, and it worked out really well. We met in the Promenade Lounge - on Deck 3 near Parrot Cay restaurant. It's great because there is a bar there, and it's open enough so the kids can run around a little bit, or sit down and do stuff - maybe we can have some activities like hidden mickey games and/or coloring pages... any volunteers???

If I remember correctly, we did it around 3:00 - which gave us plenty of time for lunch, settle in to the room for a bit, and then grab a drink at the meet, and then head to the lifeboat drill, and the farewell party afterwards. I'll have to double check the timing, but if this sounds good to everyone, I'll put it together and make sure everyone knows the details via email and on our list.

Johnna, That sounds like a perfect time for the meet! And you are such a wonderful person offering to organize it! I'm so excited to actually meet everyone in person although I really feel like I know many of you already.

We also enjoy 80's night, and 70's night. A few of us got recruited last time to participate as some musical personalities... we may try to avoid that this trip...seeing yourself on youtube is not terribly flattering...

Oh no, Johnna, I was SOOOOOO looking forward to that!!!!! Of course, I will be hiding in the back of the room because I DO NOT SING!!!!!

We had our last family holiday celebration today!!!! And, SWA dropped the price on our return flight so we are now flying from KC-MCO for $174.50 per person RT!!!! Getting ready to go to DMIL's as today is her 82nd birthday!!! Busy day but a good one!!!!!

I hate to say, but I will not be there. About 3 is when we go to the cabin and I take about a hour nap right before the boat drill. I have to wake up early for bell services at 8 in the morrning to get my bags. So I need the mid day nap. I will see you all at Rockin Bar D that night.

mid day nap sounds good, maybe I'll try doing one of them this cruise, I mean I have two weeks. I usually never take naps too busy:lmao: :lmao:

Well honestly I do not sleep much in that hour. Just try to relax in the silence of it cabin. Maybe I will put some music on to relax to. But that is my hour of the cruise to myself

Okay then - it's agreed. We will meet at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge (that always reminds me of Love Boat! :lmao: )

I'll keep reminding everyone as Feb. 28 gets closer.

How's the shopping going people?!?!?!

Is that 3:00 Tink time or 3:00 Standard time?:lmao: Okay, we will get there at 3:15 :rotfl2: During the meet we can also run down the hallway and knock on the doors of everyone just in case someone is trying to sleep....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: It is fun to start the cruise off seeing everyone so that when you find yourself gathered by the pool, you can turn it into an informal meet.... Nice too have someone to "save your chair by the pool." :rotfl: :rotfl:

I thought I had someone to share my b-day with, but I think I will just be the lone b-day princess:. ;)

I am still trying to convience DH that he would look good as a "cop" since the construstion worker is already taken..... Hey Lady Story, I guess we can all start singing your theme song....... Even if some people do not want to meet me, I will just sing your theme song....

Donna, Wanda & Vanessa as long as Marla restocks the Bushwacker supplies we are "ALL GOOD". Since BJ is the one that started the love of Bushwackers and Turkey legs, she has volunteered to pay for the round on Pirate night as long as we all share our Turkey legs..... Speaking of Turkey legs, I think we can find them not so far from Lady Story's room..... They will be marked with Pirate Signs. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I got the PMs and could not agree more...... OMGoodness..... :grouphug:

Hey... this is a nice, active board. LOVE THAT!

Since we cruise 4 or 5 times per year it is always fun to be in the boards and get to know people ahead of time...like you all said, it makes it nice to already know some folks and it makes the time go that much faster!

So if I got this right, the meet and greet will be on your first day (28th) at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge. Since this will be our second week, we have organized a lunch to meet some of our Florida friends at Rusty's in Port Canaveral (one of those bars we sail by on sail-away) and should just be getting on board at 3...so count us in! popcorn::

70s and 80s night sounds a blast... and I think I read that there is a pirate party one night. Sounds like fun to me... any reason for a cocktail!!!

We are getting really excited... there is nothing better than being on a cruise, eh?

First of all... Welcome Dave and Micha!! I was stationed in Germany for 4 1/2 years in the late 80's and have wanted to go back ever since.

Johnna, the RookieMouse family will be there at 3:00 for the meet (or at least some of us will... not sure if I can round up all 14 of us for that :lmao: )

Today is the first day back to work after 2 glorious weeks of family time... ugh!! At least it has started to warm up some here. The kids got skis for Christmas and it has been too cold to go skiing.

I'm sure that Rockin' Bar D will be a regular spot for a lot of us on this cruise... DD says I need to do karaoke... I say that will take a drink or two to happen.

... but NO amount of drinks will get me into a red sequined speedo (luckily for all of you) :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

Have a great week!

John

I LOVE THIS BOARD!
You guys crack me up! :lmao:

Red sequined speedos!
Funny but scary at the same time! :scared:

I haven't gone shopping for anything yet. Is that bad??
I don't know what I wanna wear! I know I wanna get some capris and some nice flowy tops and flip flops and pretty much LIVE in that the whole trip.
As far as what to wear on formal night, I'M STUCK!!
I don't know what to wear and it's giving me a headache! :headache:

Oh and bathing suits??? I don't even wanna go there.
Those two words aren't even a part of my vocabulary.

Rockin bar D is my home at night. No shopping here. Got to save money for the bar bill. Also I need to remember my Bacardi for after hours drinking on deck 9

Okay fellow cruisers.... Holidays are over... Christmas stuff is put away.. (ok well almost) and it's time to boogie on the DIS boards...

First of all... all you nappers.... "YOU DON"T NEED NO STINKIN SLEEP!!!" :lmao: That's a famouse quote from several previous cruises!! You can sleep when you are at home or when you're dead!! Cruise time is FUN time!!!! :dance3:

Next.. Somebody back a few pages asked when Pirate Night pirate: would be.. probably, Wednesday, the night we leave St Thomas. but don't QUOTE me on this... I get into more trouble that way!! ;)

Well it is more about an hour to my self to just relax before the drinking starts. If I don't get the rest then I will not be drinking at night and that is unacceceptable. Also mis pin, did you come across someone who has a eastbound panama pin set and wants a westbound?

That was ME who asked about Pirate night!
Thanks for responding! I wasn't sure cause I keep reading posts about different nights.
I've heard Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so I'm like "Which day is it???" :confused3

I have my Palo dinner reservation on Tuesday so if Pirate night is Wednesday, then I'm good to go. :yay:

Saturday...Cruise Casual
Sunday... Formal Night.... Day at Sea

Tuesday...PIRATE or cruise casual (your choice)... Port St Maarten
Wednesday...Cruise Casual....Port St Thomas
Thursday...Semi-Formal....Day at Sea
Friday...Cruise Casual...Cast Away Cay
Saturday...Travel casual LOL!!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I guess the only way to be 100% sure is to wait till after the first St Croix trip and post over on the main board:confused3

OMGosh after looking over the Navigators...I'm even all the MORE anxious!!!!!!
It really is so MUCH FUN!!!!!! I can't wait:banana:

John TOO FUNNY about..Luckily for us, no amount of drinks could get you in the Red Sequined Speedos!!!!!
I guess we will just have to leave them for Mark and Johnna;)

Thanks Brenda!! That code W810011 worked well, it gave me a little better rate than the one our airline website provided!! so thanks!! See you on board in 53 days!!

Your Welcome!!!!!!!

I glad it worked for you:)
For those of you wondering what the heck we are talking about....Wanda had posted over on the main board about car rental discount codes...

We are using Budget Rental and I had found a discount code that saved a few $$$ nothing major, but a little bit $$$ more to add to the 'Ole Bushwaker fund :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Shopping! I started that last spring when we booked! LOL I might be looking for a new bathing suit, perhaps I can find one with red sequins and maybe with bells too! LOL

My girls I'm having trouble finding clothes for. They both need a dress for formal night and I don't want to spend too much since this will likely be the only time they wear them before they grow out of them. I was hoping after Christmas there would be plenty of fancy dresses on clearance but they are all very Christmasy.
