February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

Magnets are done! Haven't done them before, so it was a task.

Magnets.jpg

Wife and both DD's are packed and I have yet to start. Ugh. We are so excited and this being the first family cruise, I have bought so much new camera equipment, you'd think I was coming aboard to make a documentary.

Bringing my laptop as well to offload video from the HDD camcorder. While I have my laptop, does anyone know if there is Internet access on the Magic for use on my laptop?

We fly on Friday and can't wait to get on the Magic!

3 more sleeps!

Great job on the magnets!

So Alan, what's the weather like in Orlando? Have you heard the local forecast for Saturday?

Current Temp is 59º:wizard:
Forecast for the rest of the week is high 70's during the day and mid 50's at night. Saturday is supposed to be sunny with a high of 80º. :beach:
Should be a beautiful day for cruisin!!
:boat:

Hello fellow cruisers....we are not leaving until Saturday morning out of JFK on JetBlue....weather is supposed to be good on Saturday so we are not worried about getting down....looking forward to 7 great lazy days....I need to purchase some alcohol for a couple of friends...anyone know if it is better to purchase in St. Croix, St. Thomas or just purchase on the ship. We never normally purchase alcohol. Thanks all...and see ya all on Saturday for a MAGICAL cruise.
Tom:cool1:
I would buy in ether St. Croix or St. Thomas over the ship as your duty allowance from the U.S. Virgin islands is 5 liters over the 1 leiter that you can get from the ship

Nice days, anywere betwwen 75-80 in the day. Nights a little chilly.

We are getting our flavored rum in St Croix, I get it whenever family visits, their fruit varieties are very yummy, and very cheap on the island, so I'll stock up. We don't drink much, so this should last us a couple of years at least :lmao:

Very yummy indeed! :drinking1 K-Mart in St Croix is rumored to have excellent prices... don't know what the Cruzan distillery charges but I'm sure it's also inexpensive. I fully intend to buy our limit! I will gladly adopt anyone who wants to share their limit with me.... :rotfl2:hmmmm does that 6 ltr per person limit include children? I may bring my grandson after all..... :rotfl2:

:worship: :worship: The Packing is FINISHED!!!!!! and I'm hoping like heck that we have everything we need...at this point I'm not sure what all is in there, but know that there is ALOT crammed in each suit caseLOL!!!!
I'm a little bit worried that we may be a wrinkled mess every night at dinner:rotfl: :rotfl: but we will be there LOL!!!!!

Great job on the magnets Ron!!!!!! Your girls will be so excited!!!!

And yes, I too checked earlier on weather.com and Friday is reported to be 77 and Saturday 80!!!!!!! Sounds good to me, perfect weather for a Sail Away Party :cool1: !!!!!

Tinker...we wish you Safe travels and a great fun filled week as well!!!!!
How long are you staying and where at????? I can't remember. And are you flying home Sat or Sun???

Okay off to bed for me!!!!!
Good Night!!!!:cloud9:

Hey Ron, Where did you get the graphics for your magnets? Particularly the DCL nametag ones?? Do I want to start this project now?? Hmmmm:confused: What the heck.. I can sleep when I get HOME

I just finished most of my laundry! I will still have to do a load of diapers tomorrow night but they can stay in the dryer until we get home. I have very little to do tomorrow which is good as they are predicting 5" of snow tomorrow! I hope my husband ride home from work isn't hours long!

Go Brenda!!

I can't believe I finished my packing yesterday, I do feel a bit odd since I also packed the entire contents of my medicine cabinet. I can cure any ailment now :lmao: . My theory is: If you don't pack it, you'll need it, if you pack it you'll never use it. So it is a sort of good luck charm :rotfl2:

Just one more sleep until we take off. I am going to work like a crazy person today and part of Friday, I am determined to leave my queue empty before we depart.

OK off to finish getting ready for work I go.

Hi Everyone

I know I haven't posted anything in a little while, been so busy at work trying to get things organized with my staff for my time away.

Ron the magnets look fantastic, they put mine to shame

Does anybody know if the shuttle is going up on Saturday afternoon, that would be awesome to see from the ship. It will probably happen during the lifeboat drill:laughing:

We leave Buffalo at 6AM have to be at the airport at 4:scared1:
So if it looks like we are dozing off Saturday afternoon you'll know why.:cloud9:

I hope everyone has a safe trip to the ship and we will see you all there at
3pm at the Promenade for the party:

Can someone tell me more about this $99 deal and how you find out about it

I want to know too!!! Even after taking 1/2 day off yesterday, I am not even CLOSE to being ready (sigh).

BUT I LOVE THOSE MAGNETS. They're worth every minute of non-sleep I could get! :thumbsup2

This was from a prior post...

If you booked this or any other 4 or 7 night cruise this spring before Dec 22... you get a voucher for a 3 night cruise in the fall for $99 per person. The key was to have booked before Dec 22, 2008. Or so I was led to believe anyway.:confused3
I booked within the window and I'm going to take advantage of it FOR SURE!! By the way the magnets look GREAT!
:wizard:

I've been checking the launch site... looks like March 12th... http://www.nasa.gov/missions/highlights/schedule.html

Does anyone know if there is a church service on Sunday. I remember we had one on the Panama Canal Cruise... :confused3

Thanks!
Georgie

Flying out tomorrow after work... EVEN if NOTHING but my passports are packed! :woohoo:

Let me know and I can send them to you. If you have a graphics program, you can clone out the names and insert your own. For the character ear tags, I found a free font called Walt Disney Script.

My first time doing it, so it took me a while. The biggest time-consumer was cutting the shapes and the magnets to the shape. I also did them for our cabin and our parents cabins - 3 sets all together.

I know that I am not Ron but this is the link that I found for name tag graphics. Excellent talented person!!!!

Hope this helps

Tom does GREAT work and he made some tags for us, and he'll make them for you too. Awesome work. After he made ours, I saw others he made that said "First Disney Cruise" on it, and that was more appealing. Rather than ask him to make more, I lifted those and cloned out the names and put our names on them and added our hometown on them. They turned out quite nice.

Hi! Me too!!! I too have the free Disney Font and have had fun using it. Don't know if I will have time to do anything when I get home from work... but would love to try. If you could send me a PM and I can send my e-mail address.

Thanks!
