February 27, 2011 - 4 Night on the Disney Dream!

:headache: I really was hoping we would be able to see the launch from the boat! Maybe we will have to cruise again in April?!:scared1:

Sounds good to me.

Did we ever get a list of who wants to participate??

Other than the column you added to the spreadsheet, no :( But, I will review the old posts to see what others may have put a few months back.

If you have time, could you add a link to the spreadsheet on your very first post of this thread? It would be easy to find and others could add to it easier then.

Although I was really looking forward to the launch , I am trying to look at the bright side. I am hoping that there are enough hotel room cancellations now that some AAA rates might be released at the Residence Inn.

My thoughts exactly.

This has nothing to do with our cruise but I wanted to share. Last night was my work Christmas party and we rented a hotel room in the hotel where the party was at. So we check in and proceed to our room ... well somehow they gave us a room that was already occupied! Crazy, but thank heavens the people weren't in their room at the time. So of course there are no regular rooms left so they had to upgrade us to a suite - it was sweet!

Then tonight my son has friends over so we decide to order pizza (plus with my foggy head after Christmas drinks, cooking seemed a bit of a stretch). Go to get it and they have no record of our order. So they made it for us quickly and then didn't charge us!

I guess sometimes what seems like bad luck turned into a nice surprise:cheer2: :)

Bummed about the shuttle launch because I would have loved to see it from that close but at least the traffic will not be an issue any more. We're booked to do the sunrise Savannah that morning (from AKL concierge)

I would be interested in the room tour. We have an 11C nothing to exciting but maybe some are interested in the virtual port hole.

I have been trying for a couple of days to find another hotel since the shuttle launch was moved? Anyway nothing yet :o( I wanted the Residence Inn but nothing yet. We have a family room with veranda that depending on when the room tour is would be available for viewing if you don't have one already. Hope all is well with everyone and their families :lovestruc

Although I haven't checked the spreadsheet in a week or so, I think there were only two suites signed up for the tour. I know I really want to see lots of other rooms, as this cruise is the one and only time we have or will sail in a suite, and I need to see other rooms rooms for our future cruises!

So, sign up! The spreadsheet is on post #309. Once we get closer to the cruise date, I know Krisann was going to close out the list for the FE, however, I am sure we can keep the SR tour open longer.

I'm not sure how many people are aware but there is a kids board so that some of them can get to know each other before we sail. Here's the link

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2468503 [/URL]

Some kids make friends easily and some are more shy. My daughter is one of the shy ones. So I know it will be so beneficial if she could form some friendships first. The board was doing ok but than came to a stand still. Now that the cruise is closer, maybe it’ll be more fun for the kids to post.

Wow! This thread has been a bit sleepy lately! I have been slammed the past week or so getting ready for Christmas. My 3 yo is now really "getting it" and it means there is alot more work involved this year;) When I think I need a vacation, I know I just gotta hold out another 2 months or so, and all will be okay!

Hope everyone has a great and fairly peaceful week leading up to Christmas! Looking forward to getting some of the plans finalized for the cruise...I can't wait to go FE gift shopping:goodvibes

Well, I waited up (or fell asleep on the couch and woke up after midnight :rotfl2:) so I could book things on my 75 day mark. The DCL site was down . I just couldn't stay up any longer, so I booked our spa treatment and signed the kids up for the Club/Lab in the morning.

All of the Palo reservations were booked. Not too big of a deal. Since it's our first cruise we want to experience the dining rooms, etc.

I was able to book a couple's massage :woohoo:, but only for Nassau day. I can see where it is a definite advantage to be a Castaway Club member!

I'm sure we'll be hooked and want to book another cruise, so I plan on taking advantage of that booking window next time! lol

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!

Laura

I returned home from vacation a week ago - ending the trip with 2 cold nights at WDW. A week later - I still haven't done much for Christmas! My son put up the tree while my DH and I were gone, but didn't decorate it. It's just as well, because the tree is going to get moved from the family room to the living room...one of these days! I didn't send Christmas cards this year. I'm just glad to have finished the gift shopping for my family and most of the food shopping. On Christmas Day we're staying home and seeing NO relatives - for only the 2nd time since we got married 28 years ago! :yay::woohoo::dance3:

I had no interest in seeing the space shuttle launch, so don't care that it was postponed. My roommate and I were going to take the DCL bus to the port rather than drop-off a rental car if the launch remained on the 27th. Since the cost to use shuttles is comparable to a rental car for the 3 days prior to the cruise, we're going to take Mears from the airport to our resort and back, and then the DCL bus to the port.

I think after Xmas this thread will really get hopping. Every time I see new pics and video of the Dream I get more and more excited.

Hey spoonces! Where have you been! Looking forward to our cruise! Happy holidays!:wizard:

Hi All,

DD (7 1/2) and I will be on the Dream on Feb. 27th. I am interested in learning more about the meet and also fish extenders. I know what the extenders look like, but I am not sure what we need to do to participate. Can you let me know? We will be staying in Category 9B, cabin 2528. This will be my 5th Disney Cruise, number 4 for DD.

Wow, that was a marathon reading through all the posts on this board. :surfweb:
Hope it is not too late to join. :worship:
This is the second half of a B2B for us. Me (Dani), my DH (Steve) will be on the 3 night alone, and then our DS 15 (Chris) and DD 13 (Heather) will be joining us on this one. We will be in room 6588 which is cat 4D. We would love to be part of the room tours and FE. We have cruised the eastern and western on the Magic before but never shorter cruises. I would love to have my 2 teens join the meet board but this is a total surprise for them.
Disney Dream here we come!:woohoo::banana::cheer2::yay:

Welcome to the meet thread! I saw your posts about flights for your kids on the 27th, and I hope all goes without a hitch.

I have someone taking them to the airport for the first flight out of BWI. They will get on the direct flight, and when they get off we will be there to pick them up. We will hop off of the Dream in the am after early breakfast and pick up the rental car to pick them up and then come back and return the rental car and get back on the Dream. They have lots of experience traveling. Hoping mother nature cooperates.
