February 27, 2011 - 4 Night on the Disney Dream!

Now that they moved the launch to Sunday, we definately wont be free at 3-4 !

Im going to be on the concierge deck taking photos of the launch!

We need to come up with another time to tour the rooms (assuming the time does not change again).

Now I have a whole free day on Saturday.

Maybe we should keep the original time on the 27 th for the tours, but come up up with an alternate time on Nassau day, maybe? Although I hope the launch time stays what it is, chances are it won't :(. I am not sure of another time embarkation day, but that day would be best before my kids trash the room!

love the name and that she will have a "Cindy" outfir to wear on the cruise. Our DD works at WDW and will try to get a special photo for her. Let us know the stateroom and if you will have a Fish Extender.

Mary Jo that is so sweet of you and your daughter!! I can't believe I get to do all the girl stuff at Disney!! I have dreamed of this for so long and had given up on it and SURPRISE! I hope she will always share my love of Disney with me like my boys do. We are going to do the the FE if it pans out and everybody does it. It will be our first time. We are in cabin 6086.
How does it work? Do you get trinkets for everyone that signs up? What kind of things do people like? I would like to do different things for the kiddos and then the kiddos at heart so will everyone say if they have kids or not? I want to make sure we do it right! My boys are excited to put the "gifts" in everyones FE. We teach "it is better to give than recieve" so they are excited to be secret gift givers. We have been talking about what would be good things to give and if it was up to my 4yr old you would all be getting
PS3's!! Because he loves his!

The FE gift can be whatever you want! It can be per guest in the room or one per stateroom. We have gotten snack bags of candy or trinkets, one pencil, a sheet of stickers, wine charms, lanyard charms for each guest in our room, one door magnet, a note pad, little handmade magnets, a personalized wipe board, pirate themed playing cards....it can whatever and our experience is that it is fairly "generic" as far is if it is for kiddos or adults. Obviously, the wine charms were geared for adults, but most was "one gift fits all!" Some put little stickers on the gift stating who it was from, some did not...it really is all up to you!

If you are like me, and I am guessing you are with your new addition, and craft time is tough to find, Oriental Trading company is a good place to browse for ideas at a reasonable price!

Wait...I must have missed it...are we doing a FE? Are we scheduling a tour? Do tell!

Yep, Krisann has graciously agreed to be the keeper of the list on a google spreadsheet for the FE. Just add your info, and you are on! The link is on page 21.

Nothing set in stone yet, as far as I can tell, for the stateroom tour. I think there are a few of us on the list, but the time is up in the air due to the shuttle launch.

yep just add yourself to the spreadsheet! I am thinking we will take sign ups till January 10th? that gets us past Christmas? Does anyone have objections to that date? If you want to get a start on things you can see who has signed up already and know a tentative number but the final number will be jan. 10th?

Any discussion?

Hi, we will be joining you all on this cruise and can't wait to see the new Dream ship. Last year we cruised with our kids and grandkids, but this trip will just be us adults. Anyone else out there cruising childless?

I was going to sign up for the FE (I think I understand it all) but on the spreadsheet there are things I need explained.

1.Cabin Secret Mickey??
2.Lime Green Wristbands?
3.Cruise Laynard

Thanks for your help!!!! I think my kids will love this.

I was wondering about that, too.

Also, has anyone received notification of their dinner & show time? I've seen threads that people have received theirs - and they aren't cruising until after us. Just wondering. :)

I did get my dinner and show times but only for one of my 2 cabins. I guess I should really check and make sure they are both the same but I am just assuming they are because the reservations are linked. We have the early dinner and 5pm show. I am not sure if I am happy with that yet. It is a little early but I do have small kids. I would have preferred to have a show after dinner but 9 is too late.

That would be us. I'd love to take my little DGD2 on the cruise, but I think I'll wait until she's 3 (and potty-trained) and can go into the play areas.

We did receive a letter from DCL giving us dinner and show times earlier this month. There's no specific date on it, just October 2010.

I just found out from my aunt (our TA) that we have 6:00 dinner and 9:00 show. I can't wait! Less than 4 months now!!! :cool1:

My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary on the cruise. We do not have any children, but do keep busy with four pet goats and dog. I can't wait to see the Dream and enjoy the cruise. I am also looking forward to meeting people from the Boards...

Got our ressie requests to our TA for today!!! Only 120 days away now :) We are going to really splurge so we requested a CC cabana! We will never be able to afford cruise on the concierge level again, so we are going all out on this one...doing while the kids are young so they won't be able to ask why we aren't getting one again the next time we cruise:lmao:

Do any of the regular posters on WDW Radio know if they are doing an FE exchange as well? There are tons of posts for the cruise, and although I didn't see anything there, some one did mention something on Facebook.

Not 100% sure. There are a few FE's and I believe there is a door decorating contest going to be going on

I don't know exactly what you are looking at to answer your questions specifically

- click on the above - it is a closed forum; but, it shows pics of extenders.

You are exchanging items with other cruisers that are on a list.

a lanyard for a cruise is a good place to keep you "KTTW" card (key to the world card) your room, charging - etc. In WDW you would use it to exchange pins.

a hidden mickey is usually something that has a hidden Mickey head there. On the cruises there are sometimes contests that you have to find the hidden Mickeys and create a list and win a prize.

A wristband could be you are in a group doing an excursion, a event, or you have it on to ID a concern.

Thanks for trying to answer. :thumbsup2

These were things listed on the FE spreadsheet and needed a yes or no answer and I am not sure what I would be answering yes or no to....:confused3

You may want to PM KrisannB, the keeper of the list, but I am guessing at these myself....

the secret cabin mickey maybe a secret santa kind of thing where you get an assigned person a gift for each day or one for the cruise outside of what the FE gifts are. We did this before a cruise we did in 2004 and it was a nice way to get to know folks a bit better before cruising and to get us extra excited for the cruise!

As far as the lanyards and bracelets, groups will order these in bulk and either give them as gifts or order them for a group for a small charge (?) Any that we have gotten have been from folks who ordered them as their FE gifts and just handed them out in the terminal before the cruise.
