February 26, 2011 - 7 Night Caribbean Sailing

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has done door magnets in the past. I see the threads and people who will make them. But not sure how to access them in photobucket. Any ideas from anyone.
Thanks

Hi Dana,
"Walking ship tour" Enjoy the beauty of the Disney Magic with your cruise staff in this guided tour of the ship. It started at 2:30. Meet at deck 10 forward elevators. I do not think you need to pre register just show up at the designated place and time. The info is on the front of the Personal Navigator . Make sure if they do not give you one when you check in that you ask for one. We did not get one last time until we got into our room. I would imagine they run it around the same time each cruise but we will need to check. :)

To get the graphics, you need to save the image to your computer then print on magnetic paper or reg. paper then laminate it and put magnets on the back. Hope that helps.

My kids and I made a chain link out of construction paper to start the count down. Each morning one of them pulls a link off and as the chain gets shorter, the cruise gets closer!! They love doing it every morning!

I grabbed some Mickey Mouse paint samples from Home Depot the other day to throw some magnets on for our door. I want to do the mickey ears over the stateroom door # too.

I ordered Pirate outfits for each kid, but DH and I and FIl won't be dressing up. I figure the kids are good enough. DS5 says he doesn't want to dress up, but I think that night he'll change his mind.

Hello....

Feel free to use Mickey ears for your cabin doors

Wow we are 1...1...1... one month, one week and one day:cool1::cool1: from getting on the Magic...

Monika, thank you for posting the Mickey Ears, it will be fun decorating the cabin door.

I went to other cruise threads and noticed that a lot of these groups met up at the Promenade Lounge which is close to Parrot Cay, so this may be a possibility as a meet place, what does everyone else think?

Monika, thanks for posting some more, they are awesome:yay:can't wait to make them.

Could you also post the site of the webcam that caught the Magic leaving on Saturday, my son would love to see the boat leave next Saturday. Thanks.

You're welcome...Here are the links to 3 webcams. First is Port Canaveral...most of the time a ship is blocking the Magic or the Dream. You will see the Disney ship on the right side. You can watch the ship leave...wait about 20-30 minutes, then go to second webcam Ron Jon Resort...there you will see the ship leaving the canal...you can also operate the webcam and view surrounding area and take a picture of the ship. Then once the ship is out of the canal...within a few minutes, you can go to the last cam--twopalms where you can take a picture of the ship too.

For those that are interested...today at 10:30 am Eastern time...the Disney Dream will be christened. The ships Godmother is singer Jennifer Hudson. I found out before she was on American Idol, she was a performer on the Disney Wonder. You can view the live webcast of the christening...

Have a great day and take care.....:flower3:

sounds good to me!:thumbsup2

Promenade Lounge sounds good to me too.

I will third the motion. The lounge sounds good to me. Now just a time, I would like to meet on the first day, but might be hectic with getting on the ship and exploring surroundings. With everyone being so excited to be onboard and with the sail off party at 4pm, booking spa and palo and excursions. Maybe the next morning before breakfast. Any thoughts

That is a good idea...I would hope no one would be at the Promenade Lounge in the morning...that way...we will know it's the Disboards group meet. Michael and I are flexible...name a time...we will be there.

I agree for a meet. Before breakfast? Hum!!! I'm not so sure! What time do you folks expect to eat breakfast at? I was thinking of having breakfast around 9ish as we have the late supper... therefore, we'll tend to sleep in late (8ish) and then off to start our day. Would soon after breakfast work?

Since the next day is a day at sea...I don't plan on getting up too early...9ish is good for us :)

How about meeting Saturday afternoon just before the muster drill. As I have been living on the Dis boards recently I noticed that all the meets on board seem to be about 3PM. That way no-one has to get up early Sunday morning or miss their breakfast time or any activity they would like to attend. Maybe this way the children in the group will at least know a somewhat familiar face if they go the kid's clubs on Saturday night. On Saturday afternoon there is a tour of the ship at 2:30 PM, (I think I read this somewhere, but may not be at that time) maybe we could meet after that. Just a thought, but will go with what everyone else would like to do. I will just be happy to be on board:dance3: Snow is starting to get old:sad2: More expected on Friday morning.:sad1:

Did anyone get to see the Disney Dream Christening this morning, I had to work and missed it.

I hope I'll be able to take the tour, so yes, after it would be OK for us. Anyone knows how long the tour usually take and when the fire drill usually is?

Hello everyone! The cruise is ssooooo close!!! I am going to Michael's this week to get craft material and make my fish extender! What kind of candy and sweets do you guys not have in Canada?

The promenade lounge sounds fine! I will let you know Michael and I aren't morning people! ;) But since all of my classes this semester are early I'm used to getting up at 7am. Michael works 3rd shift (4pm-1am) so he likes to sleep late, but since this is vacation it means we have to get our butts up in the morning!!

Does anyone know what the Cove Cafe serves and when they open/close? I'm not coffee drinker, but I really enjoy a warm cup of tea.

I have a question about the FE list. 2 of the rooms total # of people don't add up with the # of adults and Children. 1 is Grits - which has 6 total and 2 adults and 3 kids. The other is Mismal which has 5 total, 2 adults, 1 girl and 1 boy. I'm assuming the # of adults and kids is correct and not the total. Can anyone confirm?

The good news is that my FE's are put together and ready to go now unless I decide to add to it.
