February 26, 2005, Magic Western

So how many of us are doing Sting Ray city so far, I am ready to go now, and I am driving everyone nuts at home.
228 days to go.....

Still no new DISers on our post!

Hubby & I are still deciding about sting ray city...it really depends on MIL & FIL because I'm not comfortable going off ship & leaving 2 YO pirate: & 5 YO princess: in Flounders & Club.

Sue Ellen @ DU added REAS package to our cruise last week & already took down our info for Palo & spa ressies :cloud9: I requested dinner at Palo on Mexicali night (least favorite of regular dinner menus), brunch in Palo Key West morning & spa taster for hubby & I on the day of his b-day (3/1).

I think I am driving my hubby crazy  by reading my Passporter almost every night & trying to plan details so far in advance!

I am still debating on REAS, I have not quite decided yet, I wanted to add it on, we still have time I guess. We are getting closer to the 200 days mark. YEAH
My daughter's cast should come off tomorrow, which will be wonderfull.

We are exactly 200 days to our cruise:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Now that is good news......
My daughter is out of her cast and just need to wear a splint, so she now can enjoy her summer.

I cannot believe we hit 200! I got my tatoo of a Hidden Mickey head a few weeks ago. It's awesome and I cannot wait to show it off! No, I'm not a freak. I had to be sure I picked a tatoo I wouldn't mind being buried with some day! Now I will never frown on tatoo'd people again!

Tomorrow will be even better when we are UNDER 200 days!

Just a friendly bump, I just feel so awful for all of the people who are cruising right now......
We are at 170 days......

Hi everyone - just found the thread. Jeanne, aka Mom-85 years young, Elizabeth, aka Sis-50something and Sue, aka dobelover-54yo will be joining you. We booked during our Jan '04 eastern. We are on deck six in a wheel chair accessible cabin. Jeanne has limited mobility.

Welcome dobelover! I added you to my own personal list of people cruising with us. It's always nice to know your board buddies are on the same ship as you.

Count is down to 159 today!!! I sent an email to Captain Marvins as I'm hoping they weren't too cripled by the storm. I haven't heard back from them so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

KIm, I was going to ask you about that, I feel so terribly bad for everyone in the Cayman Islands......
My girls really wanted to see the turtle farm, and I heard that was destroyed...

Hi all. We are the Young's from Northern VA and we will be joining you on this cruise. My husband, daughter (5 at time of cruise) and myself. This is our 2nd Disney cruise - first was Eastern when DD was only 18 months. Looking forward to this being a much more enjoyable time!

Welcome to the DIS it is great to see our group growing.......

We are so excited to be going again. Now I have to start my reserach into what we want to do while docked. My husband wants to do an excursion, but I haven't done my research yet!

Hi littleb's mom - i just joined last week, glad to 'meet' you. My sister and I have been talking about shore excursions but since the hurricane we will wait to see what the boards report. This will be my 2nd visit to Grand Cayman and I am really looking forward to it.
Sue

Thanks dobelover. We really enjoyed the Eastern cruise in 2001 and I think this trip will be even better. My 5 year old is at a much better age now!

This is our second Western. Wasn't crazy about Key West but this year we might rent the electrical cars to get around and check things out. I want to get to the Southernmost point this time. We tried walking last time. :(

Grand Cayman I hope will have Carptain Marvin's back in business by February but I don't know. I read the other night the island was a total loss right now. I hope they can rebuild in time.

Cozumel was good but this time we might opt for Chaukanaab (sp?). If not, I loved Mr. Sanchos' beach.

The count goes on. I just cannot wait!!!

LittleB's Mom, I added you to my list too.

Kim

My husband is planning to scuba dive in Cozumel and (hopefully) Grand Cayman, I am planning to go with the girls (9 and 7) to Pareadise Beach in Cozumel, and (hopefully again) to Stingray city in Grand Cayman, no matter what I am sure it will be great.
As long as they don't give us Nassau instead of Grand Cayman....

LittleB'sMom...I also have a DD who just turned 5 in July. Maybe we could arrange a meeting of the two princess:. I think DD would like the idea of having a "friend" on the ship right away! Another poster listed a trip report with pictures of their cat 6 room that sleeps 4 so now DD is all excited about sleeping in the "bunk bed".

Dobelover...we are also on deck 6 (room 6062) & so are my MIL & FIL (room 6014). My MIL is 65, FIL is 67, very friendly, will sit & :chat: with anyone & everyone!

I have read some recent posts stating that the next 3 Western cruises will skip Grand Cayman & hit Antigua instead. Hubby & I were just saying the other night that now we feel that we should get off the ship & do some excursions & shopping in Grand Cayman & Key West just to help out the local merchants. I had to question DH on this..."Are you saying you WANT me to go shopping in Grand Cayman because I'm SURE that I could find some new jewelry!" :cloud9:

I have read so many great things about the new pirate: night menu & party replacing Mexicali night that I sent an e-mail to Sue Ellen at DU requesting a change in Palo dinner night. We now plan to have dinner at Palo on Sun (Key West) night. Unless, of course, I change my mind again :rolleyes1

Tracey

walczak4 - That would be great to try and hook up our 5 year olds. I am sure my DD is going to be so excited about being in the club. Our room is on Deck 5. I just booked a couple days ago, so I haven't had much time to do any real planning.

When do you find out your dining rotation? I thought it was once you board ship. Right now we have 2nd seating and I am on a wait for 1st seating. I really don't want DD to have to eat dinner at 8:30!

Haven't thought too much about excursions yet. Definitely want to see the island, shop and hit the beaches.

LittleB's Mom...you're right, you do find out your dining rotation when you board. I added the "Romantic Escape At Sea" aka REAS package to our trip because we will be celebrating DH's 40th birthday. I had read on one of these posts that other people that had the REAS package were able to request which dinner rotation & time (early or late) they would like. I requested (does not gurantee that I will get it) the APL rotation because that would put us in Lumiere's on formal & semi-formal nights.

Good luck with getting early dinner seating...I don't know how Bethany would do eating dinner at such a late hour.

Tracey

PS---Bethany told me to type to your daughter "Bethany would like to be your friend". :D

walczak4 - Wow, you seem to be on top of things and have it all planned out. It is a great 40th Birthday present for your Husband. I was originally going to book the cruise and surprise everyone around Christmas, but decided against it.

Anyway, I definitely have some checking to do. I just realized last night that the room I am booked in has a Navigator's Verandah instead of a full balcony. I'm not thrilled about that, but it might be safer for Marissa. Thought? How many cruises have you been on so far?
