February 25th Magic Cruise Board

ANd not many people can say they actually held a whale.
It took 4 people and we held them in shallow water for about 4 hour rotations.

keeping them in the water and their blow holes out of the water.

They had pnemonia (sp)

BUT these WILD whales knew we were helping them
They just let us come down to them in the water and almost seemed greatful that we were there.

We always took the middle of the night shift so we were there with them when the sun came up.
Life changing experience.

We don't generally like organized tours and are planning on doing our own excursions at St. Maarten and St.Thomas. Just curious as to what others are planning to do -- organized tours (and which ones?) OR strike out on their own?

For St. Thomas, we are thinking of going to Trunk Bay in St. John. But not sure what to do in St. Maarten. Ideas? We're not into shopping and would like a nice beach for some sand/water fun with kids. Snorkeling would be ideal.

Hi, aventura! Welcome to the board!

We are doing a catamaran in St. Maarten and Blackbeards Castle/Shopping in St. Thomas. We did a catamaran/snorkling in Cozumel and had a BLAST!!!!

There is a rum factory in St. Thomas that I guess we will have to try!

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea and this is my first time on the boards. My DH, and 2 DS, and extended family will be sailing with all of you in just under a month. I am interested in participating in the fish extender giving, but I'm really new to it. Can someone add us to the list or help me find my way? Thanks so much!

Welcome to the board, Adb003! :welcome:

I am so sorry but we did close the Fish Extender List on the 15th to give everyone an opportunity to make/purshase/conjur up their FE surprises. I will keep you on the radar if we get others that come on the board over the next couple of weeks to make a new list.

I see we are getting new people everyday! :grouphug:

Where are you from?

emmysdidi

We'll I had an idea for the FE gifts, but things weren't moving along like I hoped, so I decided I'm going with something bought! Sorry all! No pics yet. But I will hint that it has something to do with where I'm from! :woohoo:

4 weeks from now we will be in Florida! I can't wait!:banana::banana:

Yes, the iphone/ipad series spell check is totally whacko! A fellow from work had potatoes auto correct to pirates twice in 2 days! Needless to say he's now getting lots of ribbing and potato/pirate jokes!

That's too bad about the fish extender list...maybe next time. Someone asked where we are from...MA

Can you also do one for my folks? They're not participating in the FE, but I might drag them along to the meet...

They are in 7623.

Dizzi - you are so right on Emmy's siggy! It's all gone? :confused3 But please, no more mention of the Costa Concordia this close to sailing! :rotfl:

I was watching House Hunters Int'l. the other night with DH and the couple featured was looking for a home on St. John. You know I was paying extra close attention to that episode and dreaming!

Less than 4 weeks now!:banana::banana:

This is our first family vacation! We are from VT and this will be the kids (16 and 11) first time flying and my first time seeing the ocean! Cannot wait to get out of the cold for a week of warm weather!
We love the idea of the room magnants our room is 2131 could you please include one for us? Thank you!
My husband and I are thrilled and have been trying to figure out how dressy we really need to be - he's a jean and t-shirt kind of guy. Wonder if dress pants and shirt are dressy enough?
The kids are thinking they will be bored (son 16 daughter 11) and I keep telling them there will be things going on all the time. Other than the excursions though, I cannot really find other activities for them. Is it only listed on our daily planner? How do we get the kids involved in activities? Any suggestions?
Does anyone have any other suggestions for first timers?

Welcome joespondvt!!! You are going to have a great time!! Dress pants and shirt would be perfect. You can look on the boards for navigators that are posted to get an idea of what will be offered on the ship for kids, family and adult activities. My DD's 12 and almost 11 have been emailing other girls their age to get to know them ahead of time. I can PM you my DD's email address's for your DD if you would like let me know. Trust me they will be anything but bored:goodvibes

OH GIRL FRIEND.....

YOUR KIDS WILL SOOOOOO NOT BE BORED!!!!

My kids have enjoyed the teen club more than any other.

MY almost 19 year old asked for and got a DISNEY CRUISE for his 18th Bday just so he could enjoy the Teen club one more time!!!

My DD almost 16 is upset (but understanding) that she cant go to be in the teen club!

How ever i am sure we will get her back on, one more time before she is too old to go into the teen club.

They have all kinds of fun times....ganes and social events and dances and

from my DD, we played games on scavengers hunts on whole boat
first night played a game called ice breakers to meet everyoone the first night....make sure to introduce yourself everyone knows noone.
there was a pool party at night and there is a smoothie hour.

so yeah there is plenbty to do

Thank you both for taking a moment to respond. It sure put me at ease to know that I don't have to force my husband and son to dress up more. I am sure that my daughter will make friends fast. I just can not wait and am counting the days. See you on the 25TH:yay:
