Hi,
Me, DH and DD princess: who'll be 6, almost 7 will be sailing on this cruise,
I can't wait. We were on the Magic April 04-Western and just had to go again. This time with a small veranda! I originally wanted Spring Break week-but it was too expensive so I picked the next week because its Mardi Gras Time-and less costly too, yahoo! :cool1: I need to buy more necklaces.

Were probably getting off as you get on the ship.. maybe i think

Just booked two cabins on the February 25, 2006 Disney Magic Western cruise. We were on the Magic eastern cruise that sailed February 19th of this year.

We weren't planning to take another Disney cruise quite so soon, but we had such a wonderful time we just couldn't help ourselves.

We'll be cruising once again with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson.

My husband and I and our family of 4 children (2 older and 2 teens) and our grandaughter, :grouphug: and my sister and her hubby and 2 children  are all booked to do the Feb 25th 7 Day Western Cruise!!! :cheer2: I am so excited I just cannot even sleep... it is going to be long waiting but from the sounds of it, well worth it. This is our first Disney cruise and I don't know what to expect. On the days at sea.... can you get a list of what is happening ahead of time? :cool1:

Wow! This is great! Finding all these people that are going on the same cruise!!! :cool1: I am traveling with my husband, two younger teens (1B, 1G) my two older young adult children (21B, 25G) my grandaughter (4) and my sister, her hubby, her 21 yo son and 14 yo daughter. It will be our small family reunion, :grouphug: since this is what is left of our family. We are making a memory none of us will forget!!! I am so excited. :Pinkbounc In fact, I am so excited that I want to get one of those count down things from TickerFactory but I cannot figureout how to attach it. Can someone please help?!!! I want to watch my days dwindle down!!! :hourglass Karen

You'll be receiving a daily navigator each evening in your cabin which will list the following day's schedule of events. There are a number of web sites that have recent issues...these will give you an idea of what will be happening on your cruise.

Here's a link: http://www.dcltribute.com/

Wow, we're getting rolling now. Does anyone have any cruise rituals they can share?
We've decorated our cabin door on the last two cruises. I did it for our 20year Anniversary cruise on Celebrity by making a poster with copies of some wedding photos and totally surprised my DH. On Disney we put a picture of a princess body and DD's face on the poster. princess: It helps to identify find your cabin too.
I'm hoping for some special Disney Mardi Gras activites the week that we cruise. Anybody else?

Hi! My family and two other families are going on this cruise too. We're so excited. We have been the Wonder, but not the Magic. I have 2 boys & they'll be 6 and 12 at that time. My one friend has DS12 & DD 8, and my other friend has DD7 & DD5. Neither one of the other families we are sailing with have ever been on DCL. I hope they love it as much as we do.

Well, my sister and I have been on one other cruise line last year with my mom. It was one of the last things she wanted to do with us before she passed away (last August). This is our first Disney Cruise and since there are just our two families left (my dad passed away last year also!) we decided to make this our "Family Reunion Cruise". :grouphug: I have matching t-shirts for all of us (11) to wear as we board. I don't know if I can get the husbands and the older male kids to wear them, but I will do my best!! We have NEVER done anything like this with the two families and we are all looking forward to it!!! :cool1: We have three rooms close together and it really is going to be a blast. :cloud9: I have 9 months and I am already obsessed with the cruise to the point where it is what I think about 1/2 of my day. I keep thinking I am going to run out of things to get excited about :moped: since it it 9 months away, but I keep on dreaming!!!!! Just can't wait! :hourglass

Has anyone decided on excursions for the trip? I was thinking that we would do Stingray City while on Grand Cayman (either Capt. Marvins or Native Way). Not sure about Key West or Cozumel :confused3 . Any ideas?

Anyone given any thoughts for shore excursions? We were thinking that we would do Stingray City while on Grand Cayman (either Native Way or Capt. Marvins). I think we'll just walk around Key West. Not sure about Cozumel. We were there in March 04 without the kids and did the 4x4 jeep tour and Senior Frogs. Any ideas for kid-friendly activities?

Rick

HI!! :wave2: First off, Lew, I did look into that http://www.dcltribute.com/
site and it gave off alot of information! I loved the towels. I wonder if I can request the frog the first night for my older daughters room ... she loves frogs! :bounce: Speaking of which, when we get to Cozumel, I am having the young teens do the FURY Catamaran Excursion that evening while DH and I go eat on the island. I hope we don't miss the lobster on the ship :sad2: or the Pirates night. I just figured how often do you get to eat dinner in Cozumel? :cloud9: Worst case scenario I order Lobster from Red Lobster when we get home  if we miss it on the ship. We were also thinking of doing the Stingray excursion. In Key West DH and I are going off on our own to the Aquarium and Butterfly Farm and Hemingways House, while the younger kids stay on the ship and the older kids shop or sunbathe in Key West. :cool2: . I thought I read that we have til 5 that evening (when the ship leaves) but then I read somewhere else it leaves right after midnight. That is a big difference in time and that may alter our plans. :dancer: Either way... it is party time! See you then! Karen

It's me again! I had mentioned frogs in the previous message but forgot to say the older kids are going to Senor Frogs in Cozumel!! I forget alot.... especially whenI get excited!!! :rolleyes1 There are alot of great places to eat in Coz it sounds like, and alot of shopping. I was reading about hammocks being sold either in Cozumel or Greand Cayman. I wonder how much the handmade ones run, price wise and I also wonder how far down you can bargain in price. If anyone knows. please let me in on it! Thanks!  Karen

DreamakerMom,
I like to go to cruisecritic.com and then go to ports, Cozumel and post your question. I find a lot of useful information there.

As far as excursions, we've been to sting ray city twice, I highly recommend it but our 6 yr old would never go for it. We did all our excursions on our own last time but we may consider something with the ship this time.
In Key West I'll make a stop at Kino sandals for sure. We'll get key lime pie on a stick and have a few pops at the Wharf Bar. I'd love to go to the Mote Marine place but last year it was closed when we got there.

In Cozumel I'm thinking about Paradise Beach.

What about everyone else? How about a DISer excurison??? :cheer2:

This our first time on a cruise. It will be me, husband and two sons age 10 and 13. My children will also be on a school break for Mardi Gras. PhotoLisa I'm orginally from Morgan City and Attended Nicholls State University hope to meet you and everyone else on the ship. ::MickeyMo

We are new to this and full of questions so here goes the first question. I have a friend who is going on a carnival cruise a few weeks before us and she told me that If they book their excursions through carnival (which is more expensive) and something happens (such as bus breaks down or excusions returns late) then the ship will wait for them and not leave the port without them. If not then they would be responsible for arranging and paying for air travel to meet the ship at the next port. Because of this they are booking all of their excursions through carnival. Does anyone know if DCL has the same policy? :moped:

Would like to save money but would also like to be safe. pirate:

DCL does have the same policy. We cruised in February of last year and did Stingray City ourselves with Nativeway. We went early in the afternoon so we would have LOTS of time to make it back to the ship. There was no problem. The Nativeway people were super nice, and they all understand you HAVE to be back to the ship on time.

Hello to all! As far as excursions go... I am not too concerned with the Cozumel day adventure if I decide to go off on my own, because the ship does not leave until evening. It is the Grand Cayman day that worries me a little. My biggest question is how early can we get off the ship once we get into port? Does anyone know. :confused3 I get nervous about this "tender" thing. :wave2:

I live in Thibodaux but am originally from Houma. I attended NSU as a non-traditional student and graduated in 12/2001. Before the cruise, I'll post a photo so that those cruising from disboards will know us when they see us!

Don't be shy . . . ask all the questions you need!!

We've booked our own excursions before and never had any problems. I suggest booking Capt. Marvin's outside of Disney. The groups will be smaller.
