We plan on doing Majahual also!! Do you all just plan on doing the excursion on your own? or booking it thru somebody else?

we are one of the few who still have not received our docs.
i recd an email from our ta yesterday that we should have ours by monday.

i was sad to see all the posts today about costa maya. we were really looking forward to cozumel.

enough about being sad- we will leave in exactly two weeks! can't wait!!

after looking at all of the disney excursions, comments on trip advisor and the boards, we have also decided to go to Majahual. although, I am not sure if we are going to do the beach break through costamayaexcursions, or just try it on our own. what will everyone else do?

We are in the storm zone with Mr508 (call me Mrs603) and Kim & Family though I think it is expected to be worse south of us. Oh well, I will use the time stuck at home to pack.

Me and my DH are just going to do it on our own. I'm pregnant, so wouldn't be worth it to pay $30 for an open bar when I couldn't enjoy anything. We'll either just take a taxi there or use the bus.

Still have to talk to DH and the two older children and then I guess we'll decide. I know DH will be sold on the open bar!! He'll just be seeing all those yummy Coronas!!! It sure looks and sounds nice on the web site so I guess we'll see!!

Holli... From everything I've read today about this topic on a few different boards.. the consensus is about the same.. do it on your own. The beers are only $2 each, will he drink 15 beers? They say you can do it on your own and wont spend as much. Food is good there too. Renting a beach chair is only $3. As long as you drink there or eat there you can use their beach

We are booking David and Ivan for the Maya Ruins tour (Rave reviews about these two) which is pick up in mahahual and drop off as well. SO when the tour is over we can jump on the beach and then into the water and go swimming, grab some food and drink and relax.. then back to the ship. We're doing this more for Dylan's educational experience.. and it's pretty cool too The bus that takes you there has AC so it'll be a comfortable ride.

I agree with Sally,
We're going to take the taxi ($3 pp) there on our own, get something to eat and drink (with our 2 DS it is not possible to go somewhere and not get a snack ) and enjoy the beach.

Hopefully a little shopping too

I was thinking of setting up a yahoo group for all the DS's to talk on. This way they wouldn't have to remember each others different emails. It would be set up by invite only and closed to the public.

This would also encourage each of them to communicate with each other and speak as if they are all together, because they would recieve each others replies. It would be an ongling conversation for them. AND it would be good for after the cruise as well for them to stay in touch.

I thought about making it for all the kids, both boys and girls, but the boys will be talking pokemon and yugioh and boy stuff and I'm not sure if the girls would be bored with that type of conversation. We could set up a girls group too.

What do you all think?

Well I definately do not think he would drink 15 beers!! But not from lack of trying...I'm sure! But you guys have convinced me and we will be doing this on our own! Thanks for the info everyone!

Mardi Gras - Here's a test, we are not only missing Mardi Gras here, but also Panczki Day! Those of you who knows what this means understand why it is sad, others of you probably just think I'm crazy. Any guesses?

I know what you mean about Ponczski, we live accross the street from the Polish Community community center and they have a sale of them every year. I've never missed it, till now. I don't think I will miss it much, being on a cruise.

Has anyone been here before? We were thinking about the excurssion to

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins, Costa Maya

They offer it through CostaMaya Excurssions, same as grandcaymanaxcurssions.com. It is on sale for $41 a person and since we are using them in Grand Cayman we were thinking about using them here. We just want some opinions on it and whether our children, dd11 and ds4 could handle it or if they should be left on ship with DGM & DGP

Bummer about Cozumel, but I think we'll also be doing our own thing in Costa Maya. I'm sure we'll all have fun. Maybe I'll just have to get Tequila before we go from Duty Free. Anybody ever used the Margarita in a Bag?

DD has a pirate costume as well as the princess costumes we'll be bringing.
I couldn't find an inexpensive pirate costume for myself so I'll be winging that one.

Boy this group sounds like so much fun!
Rick we'll miss you, have a safe trip though.

DD is still sick but as soon as she is up & at 'em she'll be emailing.
