Thanks, Yes Oxford, MA is about 40 min south of me.....
Reason for cooler? drinks by the pool ? or when doing a beach?
do rooms have a little fridge ?
I am not a big drinker, so i will buy what ever i need on ship.. last cruise i got hooked on frozen drinks of ther day http://www.bowersgarden.com/vaca/cruz/cruz-diary.html

As I understand it, the "coolers" in the room do not really chill things all that well. People take wine, bottled water, soda and beer to cut down on some of the onboard costs. Everyone says the stateroom attendants are great about keeping things in your own cooler iced. For us it's to save on DH's beer costs and b/c I prefer caffeine-free soda. Plus a wheeled cooler will make it much easier to lug things around until cabins are ready.

Do they offer any tours of the Bridge, Engine Room, or Kitchen

I'd love to see Bridge & Engine room, i work for a utility co & have some experience with GE turbine motors
My neices husband is into food industry & would like to see the behind the scence kitchen

I did the underground tour at the Park & was worth every cent.

Do you know of any of these ship tours & how do i go about signing up for them?

I don't think they have these types of tours anymore (security issue). If there are any available, they will be listed in the Navigator for the first day. I would assume signup would be at Guest Services (Deck 3-midships).

Who is staying by the airport on Friday night? We are staying at the Marriott. I know of a good ice cream shop nearby that we could have a mini-pre-meet if there are folks staying around the area.

Rick

Rick,

As you know we'll be staying there that night. Me and my husband don't arrive till the evening, though. So, doubt we'll want to get together. Sorry!

A navigator from a November '05 western cruise does list a galley tour. On that trip it lists several places to sign up for "one of our galley tours Thursday afternoon" Hopefully they're still doing it, I'd love to see the kitchens too!

Well, looks like we'll be the first ones back to Cozumel. Disney's site is now allowing us to book the excursions online. I assume that means they're pretty sure we're going. Has anyone ever done an excursion in Cozumel? Any opinions, good, bad or indifferent? I have read good things about Paradise Beach and Mr. Sanchos, anyone have any experience?

Hi Melanie,
We went to Cozumel two years ago on RCCL. We took the 4x4 jeep safari excursion (same company that DCL uses). The jeeps were pretty tired, but it was a fun day out. We drove over to the windward (east) side of the island and saw a "Mui Pequito" Maya ruins. Then we had a fantastic lunch buffet and afternoon by the wild-side ocean. After that, we had plenty of time to shop the town and spend a bit of time in Senior Frog's. Of course this was without the kiddies, so this trip will be a bit different . . .

We are planning to to Paradise Beach and perhaps the mini-golf.

Wow, this sounds so neat. We'll have to check this out when we get to Key West (along with Sloppy Joe's . . .). Thanks for the info . . .

Rick

Thanks Rick, since we will have a 7 and 4 year old I'm thinking of beaching it too. I've been reading up and it appears both Mr. Sancho's and PB use only purified water and get rave reviews. Sounds like just what we want. Then maybe taking the boys back to the ship so we can do a little shopping. Ahhh, I can't believe how soon we'll be there!

Thanks again,
Melanie

Oh where, oh where have my little docs gone? Oh where, oh where can they be?

Hi Rick,
Jim here, DH of Mama Griz. I'm with you on the winter thing. We had winter here in Montana late Nov. with a dumping of snow that stayed for awhile then rain when it's warm, and sun when it's cold. On our 2004 Dis cruise, we left here( Missoula, Mont.) and it was 52. We got to Cocoa beach, and it was 42. Heck, I've put 75 miles on my Harley already this year. I want it cold when we leave, and HOT when we get there. Oh yeah, no docs yet :sad2:

Jim

Rick thanks for all the info. Can I leave your tip at Guest Services? :rotfl2:

I pulled out some Mardi Gras Beads tonight to bring with us to the Dis meet to share with who ever would like one. The only problem is I am limited on the number that I can bring due to the weight of the luggage at the airport. If enough people want some, I may check in a bag of just beads and use the bag to bring back the stuff we buy. :jester:
