February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Someone also wrote this about walking Duval Street near the pier... Seeing you all have kids I thought I'd let you know if you have'nt been before.

Just be aware that most of the tee shirt shops have some pretty raunchy tee shirts in the windows.

Good advice. Furthermore, several shop windows make no effort to disguise bongs. Your family will also be walking past numerousl saloons and bars. I don't know if your children will even know a bong when they see one. I didn't. My 33-year old son pointed them out to me. Your kids will be able to read the raunchy slogans printed on T-shirts and underwear.

That's a good thing to know, Sally. Thanks. I mostly want to go to the pirate museum pirate: and Ernest Hemingway's home.

We have been in Key West and it is a _very_ Libral area. This is the first time we are bringing our kids there. There are some wonderful things to see, a great lighthouse, Hemmingway house, the little whitehouse, the 6 toed cats, the chickens, the southernmost point of the US, Mallory Square, the sunset street performers, Sloppy Joes, Conch Republic, etc.

I have an ATV buddy that dives at the Keys, he recomends Duvall St, [lots of shops].. also go to Sloppy Joes & Stand at this web cam [http://www.liveduvalstreet.com/] and call a buddy back in the cold climate :rotfl2:
Also Mallory Square at Sunset... for those in New england that know Boston, it's like Faneuil Hall (times 10) w/ a carnival of street performers.
If you rent a car, and head toward 7 mile bridge, watch your speed on US 1, they like to ticket.

Great Snorkeling & diving at Dry Tortugas, or just check out the fort

I remember reading that Disney supplies towels for the pool...
Can you use these same towels when you do excursions of Beach trips ?
or should you pack your own towel ??? :sunny: :daisy:

Today the Northeast is expecting up to 18" in spots (our area up to 12")
with Blizzard like conditions include 2-3"/hour + 25-35 mph winds
Get the house warm, get out Flashlights & Candles, for power outage is possible
Good day for Packing & getting stuff ready

Orlando Has a high of 53 today, the Low is 34 :cold:
parts of Florida has a Frost warning...
Hope it warms a little in the next few weeks
Grand Cayman & Cozumel area were in the mid 70's today

Hi Moira,

We are flying on Delta Song so we will be in the new terminal A. I think American is at B or C, so we won't see you there. I will look online at MCO baggage claim and see if maybe our luggage will come in somewhere close to each other and we can meet then.

We have about 3 inches of snow right now but I believe it is expected to snow all day. I am so glad we are not fighting to get out of town flying today. All this snow will make the sunshine feel sweeter! :sunny:

I hope to use today to do some packing as the next two weeks are really busy for us. I think my DH thinks I nuts to be getting ready so early. It's difficult to walk through our bedroom with all the piles of clothes. He's the type who will not get excited until we hit the airport but I did get him to buy two new bathing suits yesterday.

Don't bring towels from your cabin to the pool. In each pool area you will find wooden towel keepers to take new and towel keepers to deposit used. They are always fluffy and clean for the taking.

Oh my gosh we have so much snow on the ground. It's up to the tires of the car. :( I know I'm getting some packing done today - it's too depressing otherwise.

Hi Kathy,

That sounds great! Definitely looking forward to it!

Geez, this snow is really blowing here! We have between 3 and 4 inches already and there seems to be no end in sight at the moment! :sad2: I am just imagining myself sitting in a beach chair with a frosty umbrella drink. :sunny: So close, yet so far!!

Good luck to all of us in the Northeast when trying to dig out! :scared1: I am loving my snowblower right now!

Just saw the weather. I am in the 12-18" belt.

Thinking Caribbean thoughts! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

We're already in Orlando and, yes, it is quite cool today. Yesterday's high was mid-70s and we won't see 70 again until Tuesday or Wednesday. It's supposed to be in the low 80s later in the week, so if the trend continues, the weather should be beautiful by the time everyone arrives.

Sorry about the big storm my fellow Northeasterners are getting right now. I may be evil, but there is something about being down here while New England is getting a big storm...

Hopefully all the bad weather now means travel from the northeast will be uneventful for everyone's travel prior to the cruise. Hope so...

In addition, remember to cancel your newspapers ............ nothing says "vacation" like a weeks worth of newspapers sitting on your front porch!

we have almost 10 inches already here in Rhode Island and still going strong, I guess it's time to fire up the snow blower. Oh well, part og living in the northeast I guess. Two weeks from today we'll be in Key West, and i I don't think snow will be a problem! :cool1:

Holli... just make a list and do one or two things a day.. before you know it it'll all be done and you'll be on your way. Most of the stuff we need to remember for the house is pretty quick (Stopping mail and newspapers). Look at the time it takes to do each thing and do all the small stuff on one day.. or spread it out to one a day along with a bigger thing to do.. he he

As long as you get on that boat.. nothing else matters.. he he :woohoo:

I am in Bellingham and we have about a foot of snow now! I can't believe that it is still coming down! :cold: They say we are in a lull and that in another hour or so it is going to get heavy again! Doesn't look like a lull to me! :rotfl: I can't even imagine it getting any heavier than it already is!

Less than two weeks now and we will all be partying Mardi Gras style in the warm Caribbean sun!! :sunny: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Moira

Ps - My family LOVES the Ice Cream Machine!!! We go there all the time in the summer!! :)

Isn't there an utimate packing list somewhere on this board? I know I've seen one I just can't remember where.... Thanks.
