Hi Tracey! It looks like your daughter and my son will be the same age!! Jake turns 6 the beginning of March. You will love the 7 night!! Even that is too short for me!! Hopefully we'll all start posting here alittle bit more!!! Only 7 more months!!!

Well we wre flying down on the 21st!! So we have reached the 7 month mark!! YIPPEE!!!

22nd for us, but we can't book flights with Southwest until August 23 - apparently that's when the next group of dates comes available. So I will be celebrating the 6 mo mark with booked flights, I guess!

It's exciting that it's getting closer...

It is exciting!! We've been able to have our flights booked for about a month now. We fly Midwest. We have the hotel booked, the car rental taken care of..now one of these days I will start working on the door magnets!! The only bad part left is that final payment!

We have ours!! We decided to bite the bullet and get them the last time we cruised! Only becuz way back in 06 they were saying that the passports were going to become mandatory. Oh well I'm glad that the extra cost is out of the way!

I wish we would have gotten ours. I figure I should do if before September. I filled out the forms, now we just need to get the pictures.

Hi all,

Very happy to join this thread. We will also be sailing (just booked) on these dates to the Western Caribbean. We've actually never been on a cruise OR to the Caribbean, so we're looking forward to it.

We are:
misslissa - Melissa (23) - I'm the same age as some of your kids!
Cesar (27) - DH
No kids
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Deck 6, Inside Catagory 11, Stateroom: 6585

Since we haven't done this before, I'm just wondering (other than excursions) what do you suggest we should plan out before we go? And, do you suggest doing our own excursions instead of ones provided by Disney?

My DH hasn't gotten his passport yet, I keep bugging him about it... but it will be done soon. And, we aren't able to do excursions until Dec. 10 right?

Hi Melissa!! Welcome!! I cant help you much with the excursions!! Some people recommend doing it on your own becuz its cheaper and others feel safer booking with Disney in case something goes wrong!! The last time we went we booked thru Disney. Nautilus semi submarine in the Caymans and the deep sea fishing at Castaway Cay. Both were great. This year we are going out on a limb and booking on our own for at least one. We are going to Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. (Its not offered thru Disney)

As far as planning goes.....are you flying in the day b4 or the day of? Some people (like myself) like to do the magnets for their door!! ( and yes I already have a bunch made!! ) I plan on shipping some things ahead of time so I have more room in the suit cases. (sunscreen,water toys and other odds and ends!) So I am already starting to throw stuff in a box when I think of them!

Oh and by the way guys......ONLY 6 MORE MONTHS!! WOOO HOOO!!!

We are thinking of probably flying in the day before, just to be safe, especially since we are coming from Canada... you never know in Feb.
I think we'll go for the Disney excursions for now until we get more used to cruising!
Anyway, about these magnets... what do you do???? Any examples????

I finally did it! Sorry I am not real computer savvy so it took me awhile to figure out how to get the pics up here!!

I do not in ANY way take any credit for the designs of the magnets!! Wonderful DISers were nice enough to share some of their designs!! I would save their images to my computer and then I have a program called Disneys Magic Artist Deluxe which I bought at Amazon .com and inserted my own words and names,etc. Then I bought magnetic paer which you can get at Walmart and printed them out. Some people will just buy photo paper and then glue magnets onto the back. That way is somewhat cheaper. I always put our names and room number on them cuz some of the DISers have said that their magnets were stolen!! I have them on my fridge right now so I can see them everyday!

Hi Melissa! Here's a link that I was able to find. If you do a regualr search on the forums you might come up with some more threads! I know that there is more...They are really fun to make and your stateroom door really does look neat once its all decorated!! Hope I helped you out somewhat!!!

Haven't done any magnets yet, but I do plan to do some. I can't wait to go. Still haven't applied for the passports yet, hopefully in the sometime in the next 2 weeks. I just need to get it done with.
We are flying down on Feb 21. Where is everyone staying? We thought about doing pop century and then renting a car from Avis.

We are thinking about just sticking around the airport at the Hyatt there. Less hassle that way... otherwise, we'll try for a WDW hotel for the nite.

We're also flying in the 21st!! On the last cruise we flew in on the Fri. before and it just seemed so rushed and hectic so we decided that this time we would fly in on a Thursday and be able to relax for a day!! We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites.
