Hi all. We are a family of 6 who usually visits Disneyland 1-2 times per year. Last year we opted for Disney World and the Grand Canyon and the year before we had a baby and stayed close to home. So it’s been 3-4 years since our last trip. We often travel in January and February and enjoy the relatively lower crowds which help make up for the closures. We are thinking of taking a last minute trip Disneyland the weekend of the 21-25, but I’m noticing many crowd calendars predicting higher crowd levels and the corresponding park hours seem to corroborate this as well. Any idea why? We planned to avoid the weekend before due to president’s day but can’t figure why this weekend seems to be so busy, especially with the castle closed down.

There is a cheer competition with a few thousand cheerleaders and their families the 22-24th I believe.

Many schools have the entire week following Presidents Day off - so that week and the week prior will be busy. The general consensus on this board is that the off season, which is now more accurately called refurb season - is no longer crowd fee - you can have busy days anytime of the year so go when it's convenient.
