Hi everyone! I haven't had a chance to catch up on this thread yet but wanted to post that we are joining you all. It is myself, DH and DD . We will be celebrating our DD's FIRST birthday! It is actually 2/15 but we have to do the big family birthday party that weekend so we are cruising on 2/21. We took her on the Wonder in 12/08 and she LOVED all the characters and all the attention she got so we decided to do a 7 day with her.

So, this is really off-topic, but I'm excited! I'm co-producing a male law student beauty pageant for charity (it is really more about being funny/entertaining than attractive)... it's tomorrow night... and we just found out that Miss America 2008 is going to be in our show. One of the guys emailed her and asked her to be his escort, and she said yes! She lives in Michigan. I hope she will also agree to crown Mr. Wolverine (the winner).

WeLuvDCL, I think we have the youngest cruisers so far on the thread (? ) - ours are 1 and 3. In other words, if you forget any wipes, diapers, cheerios, infant tylenol, etc..., come and find us - I pack like we're going away for 3 months when we go away for a week!

I'm not sure if anyone else has checked this out or not, but we called to see what movies would be playing when we're onboard. As of right now, the list is:
College Road Trip
Swing Vote
Enchanted
Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Morning Light (a documentary)
High School Musical 3
Bolt (3D)
Hannah Montana Concert (3D?)
Bedtime Story

Printed out some packing lists today - starting to stockpile clothing and such in laundry baskets so it's all in one spot when it's time to pack! It's going to be a LONG 3 weeks!

Hannah Montana!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.... how funny. I just saw my first Hannah Montana show the other day and actually thought it was a laugh.

But I want to see the dog movie!!!

Thanks! I was wondering what Movies we're going to be playing! I'm deff in disney/wedding mode. I'm making my place cards for the wedding with Famouse disney couples! LOL i just realized I typed faMOUSE....I don't think that was a typo! It's Mickey on the brain!

THANKS for the offer! I'll PM you our cabin number just incase you forget anything also. DH and I used to be light packers until our little DD came along. On our last 4NT cruise, DH and I had one suitcase for both of use and one suitcase (bigger than ours) just for DD! It's amazing how much stuff you need for such a little person...

Do you have early dining? We have late because we booked so late and that was all that was left. So we will be first in line to change our dining when we get on the ship. I'm worried they will put us at a table without other kids. Last cruise we traveled with family so we didn't have to worry about that.

Maybe we can setup a play date at the Mickey pool!

I had the WORST dream last night; OUR CRUISE WAS CANCELLED!

I know I have strange dreams, but in this one we were packing and getting ready to go and all these people showed up to go with us. In the dream (as in life) I had organized a big trip. Next thing, there was this NASTY travel agent at my door saying that we didn't have tickets because she cancelled our cabins. She didn't like something someone had said to her so she wanted to be mean and nasty and mess up our trip. Thankfully one of the pups woke me up before I committed sleep murder!

So past Disney cruisers... got a question for you! Since Disney owns ABC, is ABC broadcast on the ship? It's Oscar night the 22nd and I just wondered if we'd be able to watch it.

I had read on these boards that they put together a little Oscar party and have it running on the lounge TV's and the big screen. Sounded like fun. Not sure if anyone can confirm this as fact.

Starting to work on some of the last minute details - anything any of you have almost forgotten to do that you want to share in case I too am forgetting??? That would be my ultimate nightmare - getting to the port and realizing that I have forgotten to do or bring something majorly important for the cruise!

Anyone else feel like the next 3 weeks are going to go by REALLY slowly???

Are we supposed to do anything special for the meet? Like are we all supposed to wear some identifying piece of clothing/accessory/etc...? Are we all supposed to show up for the meet wearing Borat bikinis?
Just wondering if people usually do something along these lines for the onboard meets?

I am SO new to this - is it obvious? We have only done one other cruise, and another board arranged official meets on that cruise line - I have no idea how this usually works! Thanks for your patience!

we usually dont wear anything special (although i believe lime green is the "official" disboard color). enough people have pics in the signature line that you can usually identify one or more people while walking up to the m&g location. and @ 3:00pm, the promenade lounge while be vacant except for us.

anyone interested in secondary m&g?

no you don't have to wear anything to idnetify people, unless you want to. I usually post a picture a week or two before the cruise so people know what I look like. So if anyone see's me just yell my name or nickname

It was really good! She did come and did crown our winner, and she was suuuuuuuper nice and gracious and took a million photos with a million people. I guess she must be used to it. But she never turned anyone down, even when I'm sure she was ready to get out of there. I hope she had fun! Some non-law students seem to think it's hilarious despite all of our inside jokes, but others don't seem to so much. I mean, some of the humor is obvious and other parts are maybe kind of funny but not hilarious if you don't know that that thing happened in real life and other things are not funny at all.

Anyway, if I like any of the pics of me and Miss America (there's one that was taken with the whole big group of guys + the emcees + my co-producer and me + Miss America, and there is another one with me + my husband + Miss America) that our photographer took, I'll post it here!

Oh, but here she is crowning our winner (we have some of the pics from one of the photographers, but not the one who took most of the pics):

And, yes, I'm exhausted (and hungover from the after party). I'm totally not a drinker, but I make exceptions, and this was a very good one! There are only so many times in your life you can go into a club and have everyone there excited to see you and congratulate you.
