We have a trip booked for the first week of February 2020 and are hoping for some kind of discount before then because the cost is crazy. Will there be a discount for that time of year?
Thank you!For those that will find this of interest:
Here's a list of historical release dates for Stay Play Dine and room only discounts typically covering Jan/Feb dates:
2019 Travel - released 9/26/18 VISA, released 9/26/18 PUBLIC *(no early Visa release although there were add’l discounts for Visa cardholders)
2018 Travel - released 10/3/17 VISA, released 10/3/17 PUBLIC *(no early Visa release although there were add'l discounts for Visa cardholders)
2017 Travel - released 9/28/16 VISA, released 9/30/16 PUBLIC
2016 Travel - released 9/24/15 VISA, released 9/28/15 PUBLIC
2015 Travel - released 10/6/14 VISA, released 10/9/14 PUBLIC
2014 Travel - released 10/3/13 VISA, released 10/7/13 PUBLIC
2013 Travel - released 10/4/12 VISA, released 10/10/12 PUBLIC
And just to add info here for those that stumble across this post, 2011 & 2012 were the last 2 years where Free Dining was offered during Jan/Feb/Mar. For 2013 and onward it's been Stay, Play & Dine. There's been rumors EVERY year since then that free dining is coming, and then it ends up being StayPlayDine so if you hear that rumor again, take it with a grain of salt.
Also if you want to know more about how the SPD deal has worked in the past and how to calculate what your savings might be check this out: https://www.disboards.com/threads/stay-play-dine-2019-calculation-thread.3708403/ (there are also threads for '15, '16, ‘17 and '18 linked in the first comment on the 2018 thread)
So if I go by this, the SPD discount would save me $1244. We have 5 adults, 3 kids, and 2 rooms at the Poly. But then there was a 10% room only discount as well? But you can only choose one or the other? And this is just assuming they have the same discounts as last year. For those that will find this of interest:

Correct that you can only choose one or the other. And of course “same discounts” is a big assumption - but if you did the math right it at least gives you something to think about! So if I go by this, the SPD discount would save me $1244. You’re welcome!Thank you!
Fingers crossed there is something. I saw on Mousesavers there is usually a pretty large disney visa room discount. That would be a pretty good savings as well.Correct that you can only choose one or the other. We are planning to go February 2-6, but in checking room availability there are no Value Resorts available? I checked crowd calendar and those days are 4 out of 10, and I don’t see any special events those dates.
Am I too early for February or anyone have any idea what might be going on??
We booked back in June as well for that week. I wouldn’t think everything would be booked already. We are planning to go February 2-6, but in checking room availability there are no Value Resorts available? The weekend of February 7-9 is the National High School Cheerleading Championship - https://wdwprepschool.com/disney-world-crowd-calendar/#February_2020

We booked a value for the end of Feb/beg of March. Hoping a good Visa discount comes out so we can upgrade our resort.I agree. I have been checking costs for February and think the prices are high. I am hoping for a good Disney Visa room discount. Fingers crossed!
