February 2017?

Hi dislovers!
We were hoping to travel this April 2016 with our family of four, however, we are not sure that we will have enough money to travel. I understand that it is far away but can anyone give me an idea of whether February 18-26 2017 will be a good time to travel? I believe that Mardi Gras is earlier in the month. I'd like the pluses and minuses of traveling that time of year.Thanks!

Since that is the week of Presidents' Day, it likely will be quite busy and priced accordingly. Many schools throughout New England, and I believe some in New York, have vacation that week. Weather-wise, we like going that time of year.

I would avoid President's week at all cost...it is PACKED! But, as PP said, the weather is great that time of year.

Is it crowded the whole week?

yep, one of the busiest weeks of the year anymore. Some schools in the country have out the whole week, almost all have a 3 day weekend, which brings in a TON of folks who end up taking the week off, and our local schools here by Disney do not get off Presidents Day, but get the Friday after off which makes that day really busy. Also, the Princess marathon is usually around that time and brings in thousands.

We were trying to go this April 2016, but I'm not sure we will have the money. Can anyone tell me what would be our BEST and second best choice and why?
April 15-23 2016
February 17-25 2017
April 14-22 2017

I suppose it depends on what you consider "best" -- but crowd-wise... I would say of those 3 choices is April 15-23, 2016 - this year. Easter is early this year so you won't have "Easter break" crowds, just those schools like us who have vacation that week not connected to Easter. Then I think it's a bit of a toss-up between the February and April 2017 weeks. February 17-25, 2017 means arriving on Friday before President's Day; that weekend will be extremely crowded at least through Monday, with crowds persisting through the week (it may taper a bit after Monday but WDW still considers that week to be peak). The week of April 14-22, 2017 will also find big crowds because that means arriving on Good Friday and again it will be very crowded that whole week due to many schools tying their spring break to Easter. I believe Passover also overlaps that weekend, though it probably doesn't have as big an impact.

Now, weather-wise, I really like February; that's just my personal opinion. Many do like April because it's warm but not yet into the more oppressive heat/humidity of Florida summers.

So I say your "best" choice is when you'll have the money and not feel pinched budget-wise. Enjoy!
