February 2014 Code watch

I just booked Feb. 1-8 at POR with Stay Play Dine!!! So excited! I've never stayed at POR and really looking forward to it!

We are already booked for POR in a preferred for Feb 3-10, but we're hoping to apply a new discount when it goes public. We currently are not set up with a DDP and I was thinking RO might be better, as my kids would probably be happy sharing adult entrees and we don't need dessert, etc. every night.

However, I'm trying to crunch #s and I think we may do S/P/D now. My 9 yo will be just a few days shy of 10 when we are there, so I'm thinking if we can upgrade him to an adult for DDP (and possibly my 7 yo), it would be an even better deal.

Our room is approx 1500 for 7 nights before any discounts. Right now we have 6 days of non park hopper tickets, and I'm probably going to add a 7th so we can see the MSEP the night we arrive.

If anyone wants to help me crunch numbers on that, it would be most appreciated. I haven't been to Disney since I was 4, DH has never been, and this is my kids' first trip (almost 10, 7, and almost 4 when we travel).

:dance3:Thanks for posting! I have been waiting for the Disney Visa offer and was expecting it next week. It is not even posted on Disney's website and it is not on the Disney Visa site so I would never had tried today to get it except i heard it from you all here on the Dis!

I got the S/P/D offer at POR French Quarter! :tink:And I will be there President's Day weekend! WOW! WOO! HOO! :cool1:

Thanks again to those Disers who posted the deal today! I saved over 400.00 dollars! :sulley:

I updated my reservation at VWL today -- 1BR for February 9-14, 2013. Saved over $800 with the RO discount. At first, the CM said "no discounts for you today." Then I asked about the Disney Visa RO offer. She said, "oh, we can't mention that one, you have to ask." So make sure you do!

So is it still projected October 8 for SPD to open to general public? Getting nervous about missing my chance with everyone posting about visa promo.

Try not to worry too much. Since it has not been promoted, there should be plenty of rooms available when it becomes a general public offer.

I know it is easy for me to say and very difficult to do! But hang in there and here is some pixie dust for you!pixiedust:

That is what I read today from a number of people :))

Forgive me for asking, but where are you all finding the new offers? I got on the main WDW website and only see offers for this year, 2013. Thanks in advance. Staying at port orleans feb4-9th.

I got Beach Club for 2/21-3/1! For us, anyway, RO was better than S/P/D. not much difference, though. One benefit is, we can jigger around our tickets some. We may skip park-hopping, and also might not do the dining plan. I dunno, Dh is getting cold feet at the cost. I told him, he shouldn't have gotten me knocked up so many times.

The offer is not posted on the website. You have to call and specifically ask for the Disney Visa discount. If you don't ask for the discount they will not tell you about it.

Too funny! :happytv:I just had to laugh at your line about telling your DH he shouldn't have knocked you up so many times in regards to the cost of your Disney trip.

Just added the Disney Visa discount to our rack rate rooms at Beach Club for February. Saved 35%. :)

I did not even realize the Visa discount would arrive before the general public one, so thanks DISers!!!

I read that tickets must be for the full length of the stay for the s/p/d discount. So if we arrived on a Tuesday and left the following Sun, would we need 6 day tickets to get the discount?

5% wasn't much of a discount so I went with S/P/D

Why do you think PORFQ was quoted as being a 5% discount when other mods are given 25% discount. It sounds like it might have been an error. I would suggest you call back and see if that is true with a different representative.

I just got my Disney Rewards email. But I added the discount to my February stay this morning.

By the way, the Disney Rewards email does not show any RO discount for POFQ, to respond to the PP.

Ugh! I didn't even think about that! We didn't plan on tickets the day we checked in and checked out. I would think you wouldn't have to add them check out day since you don't get dining after check out. That would stink if you have to get them check in day! We don't get there til almost 8 pm- some of the parks will already be closed! By the time we could check in and get to which ever one stayed open til 9 or 10 pm it wouldn't be worth it. Hummmm.... Well, that discount just got a little bit less magical. Oh well- something is better than nothing!
