The weather can be down right COLD. So pack warm clothes. January is the coldest month in Florida and the cold temps carry into Feb. The lows can be in the mid 30's.
If you go around Presidents day weekend it will be very crowded. You see the schools in the New England states have winter break and they head to Disney. Twill mania is held this weekend and the value resorts will be filled with youngs girls and they are there most of the week. It is also the same weekend for the coclear ear implant conference at CSR. Not to mention it is also the same weekend of the Daytona 500 race and A LOT of race fans stay at Disney because the hotels in Daytona are sold out.
Highly recommend taking gloves and a hat if you plan to watch fireworks. I always take ours and we always use them.
Had our 3rd trip in Feb of this year at that time and it was great.
For us it was not cold. We are from Michigan so when the mornings were 55-60ish, we were fine. During the day it got warmer 75-80 (85 on the one day) and were great in shorts and tees.
We did carry a jacket just in case but only needed it one morning and one night on the 7day trip.
Again we are use to 10 degrees in Feb so we were in "summer" weather for us.
Crowds were fine. Still had to FP major attractions, but everything else was 10-15min waits.
I'm also going to be there the 1st week of february and I was hoping that it wouldn't be too cold. I checked the weather history for that time period and it seemed that historically (over the past 10 yrs i think) the weather for the most part has been warm - mid 60s to 80s. Let's just cross our fingers for good weather.
As a frequent February traveler: Bring your Uggs. It's not just cold - the temps alone aren't that scary - it's often a damp chill. I also packed several hand warmers, the type that are air-activated, and sticking those in my pockets helped to keep me warm when I didn't want to take my heaviest jacket. I also found a large tote bag to be useful, because I could stow it in my smaller purse folded up and then take it out if I was warm and wanted somewhere to stow my jacket. I've rarely had "all warm days" - ie it's often cool in the morning, warm-ish in the afternoon, and then frigid at night. Layers are your best friend
