JUST DID ONLINE CHECK IN !! So excited and it was easy.
I was a little disappointed no room for request near pool.....only transportation. SS is a big resort. I hope we are not far from lobby/pool. Maybe we can change once we get there.

Hi everyone! this is my first post in here. We're (me, hubby, and 3 kids) are going the 1st thru the 8th. We're staying at POR. this is our first family trip!! We too will be at Port Orleans Riverside! Feb 2-9 Our first time!! (at this resort)
We go every year and have for many - they ALWAYS predict rain - becuase - it's florida - it always does somewhere in the orland area usually brief and most likely not even where you are -

I'm in Massachusetts and baby it's COOOOLLLDDD outside! heck even when they have COLD weather - the Fl lows are still warmer than the MA highs!

we'll have a great time cause we're at Disney!!! I understand this is a BIG resort but will have my lime green mickey heads on something and my window decorated - hope we get to sey HEY! have a magical day

I have never done online check in - DH arrives after us and we need to seperate ressies because of the DP - rigid system - anyway - I like to make sure we dont have to switch rooms - even thought 2 yrs ago I was told we wouldnt and then had to!! So I am wondering - what is Online checkin all about what are the advantages??? like, do you get your room assaignment??? that would be so kewl.. anyway - can someone direct me to a thread or give me the scoop!

I did my online check in today!

Also - we decided to go forward and stay the night on the 5th somewhere. I found All Star Music cheaply on the 5th so as soon as we drop off our dogs at the boarding place - we can hit the road so we should be getting in now around 10:30pm on the 5th. Much better than leaving the house at 3am/4am on the 6th.

We stayed at SSR last year and didn't put in a room request before we got there. We asked them for a room in Congresss Park when we arrived and they said they could get us one, but we would have to wait longer and we might not have a room before 4 (the time disney says your room will be ready by)

I guess the advantage to online check in is that you dont have to wait in the long line while people give them all the info. Sometimes with all the requests and newbies not prepared for questions, who have a lot of questions, that line can move very slow. But we must have to wait in some line to get all our paperwork and KTW cards. But supposedly it will be all ready so they dont need to "assign" the room, print papers and cut out cards. It is all done ahead and waiting there for you so it should move very quickly. We shall see.


Disneylovin: We stayed at SSR last year and didn't put in a room request before we got there. I was going to ask for the Springs...we want to be near the lobby and such. did you like congress park? Did you request near the bus?

Thanks! My DH and I are both teachers and we don't have a lot of flexibility as far as when we can go.

We are both teachers too so we have to go that one particular week.

We did not request near the bus because we had our own car, but Congress Park is pretty close to everything. The bus stop was pretty central to all of the rooms and it was a 5 minute or less walk to the pool/lobby. Also, less then 10 minute walk and your at DTD.

We leave tomarrow at 6pm and I still am only half packed and still washing clothes. Its just tooo cold to pack the suburban. Its around -20 with the windchill.I should be excited but with the cold weather, being pregnant and working nights i am just too tired to be right now. I think it will hit me at 6 tonight or tomarrow morning.

Kids have 1/2 day tomorrow then they will miss the following week but Hey we are at Disney and leaving after lunch tomorrow!!! All packed and everyone is over the top excited. Still praying no one gets sick!
