February 2010

He guys. Just found this thread and began reading:surfweb:. Also started reading a little each day of Jordans report:worship:. Its great and gets me in the mood.

We will be at Saratoga Villas then TreeHouses from 6-13. Have not been to the villas in 3 years, but never at the treehouses.

Disneylovin24 :love:I noticed you were there last year. Any tips?? I think its bigger or I should say complete since we were there last. I hope we are near the pool/bus stops.
One last question: has anyone heard anything about disney dollars? They discontinued them in the stores but we were told they would still be in the parks. I have not gotten confirmation of this. I like my kids to use them while we are there to curb spending. I just want to be prepared for whatever.

As far as the cheerleaders:cheer2:, they are there every year we go and you will see a lot of them at the Pop, and other value resorts, warming up and hanging around. I also saw groups of them in DHS but rarely on the rides. I think they get a little time in between to hang out and see somethings, but they are usually quite busy with the competition.

As far as the Lawyer convention, that could be a whole other ballgame. There is also a softball competition on presidents day weekend. I dont know how much that will affect things. That is at WWS so many of them may be off site.

It is a lot bigger then I ever expected and I have to agree that you want to be close to a bus stop. I'd ask for something close to the lobby too so your close to everything else and the lobby wasn't that far from DTD. Also, I thought the best surprise of my trip was the Turf Club. It's a great restaurant and you can pretty much always get a table with no reservation. Great for lunch or those nights that you don't have a dinner reservation for. The food court was ok, but the line always killed it for us. We had to wait 30+ minutes for lunch one day. Scared us away from it for the rest of the trip.

So my trip is 20 days away now!!! Almost to the teens:cool1: I can't believe that it's jsut around the corner! Where does the time go?

I got my new unofficial guide in the mail today. I love reading it and everything the people right in, but I started to realize today that I could probably right the book:rotfl:

YES! There is a Disney merchandise # to order stuff from the parks. You can also use this # to ask them where to find particular stuff you want to buy while at WDW. Here it is: 1-407-363-6200.
I used it to order a Mickey big figure that I saw at an AK store & didn't buy while there. Once I got home, I regretted not buying it. I was able to order it thru this #.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I was able to order my daughter a new ornament and all will be well :) :wizard:

I can't believe that we are only 20 days away from our trip. How bad are the crowds really during President's Day Weekend? Anyone been that time before?

I've been there that time 6 times before this trip and they do get pretty bad. Good thing, you never really notice the crowds at the resorts, DTD, or other places outside the parks. But in the parks, it's busy. Most of the major headliners have 2 hour plus waits and you'll be lucky to find any ride with under a hour wait. To see parades and fireworks you need to find a spot over a hour in advance. And if you haven't booked your ADR's yet, then you probably won't get the ones you want! Your best bet to avoid crowds is to take advantage of EMH (if your staying in WDW) and be there at rope drop in the morning. The first hour the park is open the rides have very little waits and it really helps you ride all of the major headliners before the park gets more crowded.

Jordan, finished TR and then read PTR for this trip! It was like you brought me back. We have been going every year for the last 10 years except last year we did the cruise. so this year will be extra special. But I know that feeling you talk about when you step off the plane. I tell my kids all the time that the first day is one of my favorites of the whole trip! :woohoo:Its nice to know others who feel the same.

After knowing everything you have been through and experienced I feel honored to be there the same time as you! We will not overlap any park days but who knows we might bump into you at ESPN. We are all going to have such a good time!! Would love to even run into WINKERS and Wendy. I feel like I know them all so well.
Pinkerbell, have spent much time in Amsterdam. We have a camp at Caroga Lake:beach:. Lets not bring this cold weather down with us.
DisneyLovin24: Thanks for the tips on Saratoga. The turf club didn't look appealing online so thanks for that! We do have a night with no ADR so that will be perfect!!!

Does anyone know if you get your room assignment when you do early check in?
Maybe I'll get some work done today.:laundy:

The first day is way better than the last..;)

This will be the first year that I'll be coming in later in the evening. It'll be interesting to see how that changes things.

We might overlap because I just switched the itinerary completely around....I'm still working on it, but I'll post it in my ptr and here as well....

I love the excitement of arrival day! Going to the Welcome counter, getting on the ME bus, driving thru the Welcome sign, & pulling up to our resort. I am like a little kid at Christmas morning. The last day is so hard. I always get sad on the bus back to the airport. It usually only takes 1-2 wks after coming back that I start planning our next trip for 2 yrs later.

I get sad just thinking about the last day and I haven't even gone yet.

ME TOO. It drives my DH crazy!!!:confused3

We have a tradition of giggling at the people waiting to board the plane at Orlando as we are arriving :lmao:. But then when our trip is over we always laugh at ourselves and say "now we are the poor souls boarding as we watch all those happy people arriving.:headache:" It somehow gets us through the pain.

Jordan: I'm NOW on to Winkers PTR. The both of you have changed my Disney experience forever. We are in the process of coming up with a good flat for our family :idea:and I know I will giggle every time I see your peeps;). It will just never be the same.
BTW, not sure if you have kept BOMA but its one of our favorites. The food is great. Leave room for dessert. 2 years ago we dropped the kids off to the club for the first time and went there for a nice dinner alone:hug:. We had the same CM (waitress) the last time we went (:wizard: little disney magic) and she made the experience great!

So far we are:
2/6 pool day at SS and Chef Mickeys for dinner
2/7 DHS, Sci Fi for dinner
2/8 pool day, Kouzzina for Dinner
2/9 MK, Supercali breakfast, my parents join us-move to Tree House Villas
2/10 pool day and celebrate at Ohana (first time....can't wait!!!)
2/11 AK, back to room to eat and enjoy the eve in villas before we leave
2/12 :sad1:leave disney spend a few days at the shore.

We alternate AK and Epcot every year. We may come back for a day at Epcot before our flight home on the 17th. I bought a 4 day ticket only because it was just a few extra dollars. But I didn't tell the kids. May surprise them. We have found we need one day in between the parks to just soak up the other side of disney. We love spending time at our resort and in our beautiful room. We spend so much $$ for them!!! So if we use the extra day at Epcot then great, and if we dont.....no big loss.

It looks like our paths WILL cross...

on 2/6 Winker, Blueyed, Rosie and I are having a DISmeet dinner at the Wave
on 2/8 we're eating at Kouzzina too!!!!!

What a small world, my cousin Joe does too!

Well, if you ever talk to him ask him if he knows the "Hogan" family. I'm sure he does. My grandfather bought a camp there in the early 1900's and my father owns it now. There is a big rock with the name Hogan on it that most people would recognize (on west side).:boat:
