FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

We will be there at the end of Feb. 24- March 1st! Can't wait to hit that sand bottomed pool (of course we will be there this July before that trip!):cool1: .

going out of the lurker mode. ;) Hi everyone!

We will be there at the end of the month Feb 23rd - March 3rd.

It will be our first time to Disney. My dd will be 12 and 9.

Wecome to Disboards Zazou!! Glad to have you along. Our February trip is to celebrate oldest daughter turning 10 and DH's 10 birthday celebration! Yes he's a leapyear baby. Maybe that's why he loves taking us to Disney...

We might be doing Feb (or march... or april) so ... I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread!!!

:cool1:

zazou you will have a wonderful time :thumbsup2 . We will be celebrating my son's 30th birthday :cake: and I convinced my DD and her new DH to come down for 6 days also. Mom is paying for 99% of trip  so it was not too hard to convince them

thanks DrmWvr1299!

A free trip for all the family! Can you adopt me? :)

I'm sure you will have an awsome vacation!

Glad you all could join our February group!
Let's keep in touch with any personal trip developments AND anything you hear or see that could help all of us out with all of our February WDW trips!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does it mean when someone says, "subscribing?"

I'm still pretty new to all this!

We are booked at the Polynesian in Feb. 2008. I thought this looked like the place to find any discounts. Am I right?

Thanks!

Subscribing means that you are going to get this thread to pop up in your UserCP spot on the DIS.It will be in bold print if someone has entered a post on that particular thread. You really don't have to post it unless you are introducing yourself since there is a "subscribing" option in the pink box at the top of the screen, but we like to see who is here and reading!

Welcome!

I am hoping for lower crowds during President's Week this year. Last year everyone we met was from Louisiana. So with Mardi Gras being earlier maybe that will mean somewhat lower crowds. Don't get me wrong -- you Louisiana people were great fun and wearing beads was great for the kids! We also did get to ride everything and took real advantage of the fast passes. Happy traveling to all of us!

Just found out we are going back to WDW in February. We would loive to stay at WL, but will need a code of some kind. We are AP so hope for a nice juicy AP rate. When do you think those might come out?
Thanks for all your help.:yay:

You can't check out Feb. rates online. Have some of you made an actual reservation by calling?

I made my room only reservation by phone this morning for Feb. 1 - 9, 2008. We are staying at POFQ. I got an email notification about 1:00 pm that allowed me to see my reservation information online. I can also access it through My Vacation on Disney.com. The CM said 2008 rates will be released in June. We shall see. At least I have the rooms I need. :cool1:

I booked a couple months back and paid the 2007 rack rate to hold the room-$92.66 (i beleive)-BUT I am HOPING on somewhat of a discount whether it be through AAA, AP or whatever. Previously on this thread I had looked up about when the discounts have come out in the past and I know on my calender I previously wrote that from as early as June they had put discounts out. I am starting to keep my eyes open wide! :surfweb:

Glad to see this thread getting bigger-that means it is getting CLOSER!!!:woohoo:

Just booked 2 rooms at CR with MK view (my lifelong dream!) at 2007 rack rate...shudder shudder...for President's week. CM said I could apply AAA discount when the new rates came out (but she also suggested there would be a hike in the rack rates). Need a code!:dance3:

We are going to WDW the first part of Feb. All this talk of conventions, Daytona, Mardi Gras got me wondering what else could be going on in Feb? I just did a brief google for 2008 conventions and by no means is this comprehensive, but the air condition convention is going on 1/31-2/2 at the CSR. http://www.macsw.org/convention8.php Also, here's a link to the Orange County Convention Center's calendar of upcoming conventions: http://www.occc.net/Global/Calendar/ It only runs through October, but you can keep an eye on it if you're curious. I'm booking for Feb in hopes of low crowds and good deals!

I thought that February was the least crowded and value season as long as it was before President's Day. Birnbaum's book says the 1st week of February is the least crowded and the 2nd week of Feb. until Pres week is average attendance. It does say that value season goes to Feb 14 though and Feb 15 and after is peak season.

So, if you go before Feb 15, you will get value season prices, but you might get average attendance crowds?

ETA: So, is Pres Week Feb 18-20? Also, how are you all celebrating Mardis Gras at Disney? Just wondering what to expect if we end up there on Feb 5.
