Hi everyone,

Guess it's time to start thinking about this cruise with SWA opening up their flights next week. Gotta be ready with quick-typing fingers!!

So it's me and DH and our 3 kids...Steph will be 13, Tommy will be 11 and Kevin will be 8. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. The last 2 were 7 nighters so I know this one will feel really short but we just had to check out the new ship!!

Last Feb. break we went to WDW and had to re-arrange the whole trip due to a snowstorm that closed all the airports. I am praying that that doesn't happen again this year...I will freak out!!

Looking forward to chatting over the next few months.

What did you have to re-arrange did you make the trip? That is also my biggest fear so we have flights a few days before the cruise just in case. Did hotels refund money if you cant get there due to airport closures?

I am a Long Islander also. Last year winter break that same snow storm forced us to rearrange our trip to Paris. We were spending 3 nights at Disneyland Paris then moving to an apartment in the city for a week. Our fkight out was canceled, luckily DLP let us move our reservation to the end of our trip instead of the beginning. This year I am leaving Friday night just in case.

We went to have the kids passport photos taken today! Still arguing the passcards vs passbooks... What have you decided on???

We got passports before cards were available. I think if we had to do now we would still opt for passbooks.... Just in case we needed or wanted to travel and passbooks were only accepted. The girls are having a great time communicating with each other

Hannah has been emailing Morgan and Olivia, and she just emailed Lauren. If anyone else wants to email with her, she'd love that too - she's having lots of fun with it! If Morgan and Olivia (and now Lauren) mention anything about the differences in her emails, when she types them herself they are VERY short! But sometimes she has me do the typing part, and they are what she really wants to say. Hopefully emailing more often like this will help her typing!

Also, I have a 7 year old (Noah) who would love to be emailing too. It would be through my email & I'd probably be doing all his typing. He has some issues - probably Aspergers (still working on getting an official diagnosis)... it would be great for him to have a friend or two.

We made the trip but it cost us more money. SWA was able to get us on new flights but 3 days later. It was connecting and a pain in the butt. The good news was my kids didn't have to miss any school. The bad news was that we were now arriving during peak season (Feb. break as opposed to a few days before) and it cost us a few hundred extra. The rental car was also a crazy expensive just a few days later. It was a very stressful experience!! I spent days and days on the phone between airlines, Disney and rental cars.

Now I'm not saying this to scare you...what's the chances of that happening 2 years in a row

I got my flights this morning on SWA YEAH!!!!! I was up all night stressing about it

I just bought my airfare. I paid 179 each way. Not as good of a deal as i thought .

So far we've booked one way on JetBlue JFK to Orlando 2/15/10 @ $145 each (doing WDW pre-Cruise). We still have not decided on a return date. Depends if we are going to drive to Ft. Lauderdale after the cruise to visit Grandma or not.

Jennifer is looking forward to all the chatter! We have passports for the kids as well.

I think it will be good for them to get to know each other a little before the cruise.

We booked on Delta the day they came out and paid with taxes $114 with return of $208. They have only gone up since. So there really aren't any good deals. I think that is the most we ever paid. We finally nailed down our hotel reservations that is if the snow does not stop us. We have been stuck in WDW before. You would think it would be great but it was not. Everyone looking for a place to stay running back to WDW but with no time to enjoy the parks. Your back on the ME bus at 5 or 6am. I have to give it to WDW. They took us to a hotel on property the last one with space. We are flying down 3 days early just in case due to the repeat snow storms last year. Hopefully it will be enough time. I am hoping for no snow so we can tour the parks before the huge crowds. We got both my kids the passport books just in case we ever wanted to go anywhere. But we tend to end up at WDW.

We got our flights yesterday $154 going down and $184 coming home Probably the most we have every paid and that is leaving Thursday AM. Could have gotten $99 each way but with a stop. We didn't want to risk being stuck with the time of year/weather. Oh well it is what it is just glad airfare is out of the way

we also paid a little more than I wanted. I did not want a stop on the way down. We have a stop on the way home but Atlanta I think so that should be Ok. They wanted us to fly to Detroit and then to FLA. What? would have loved a later return flight but not for the crazy money they want. Good luck everyone lets just hope it snows after we leave.
