February 19, 2011 Magic Western - Presidents of the Caribbean!

I am torn with this question....

I, personally, don't think I need a window because, how much time will I be spending in the room, anyhow? When I am in a hotel, do I gaze out the window? I might glance now and then if its near a beach or the vegas strip...

however, when traveling with others (wife) there is ALWAYS wait time...it might be nice to be able to watch the ocean instead of the TV

Of course, I live near the water and its not such a spectacle for me as it is for someone from KS

further, I think the kids would LOVE looking out a round window and seeing the world rush by....

all in all, that being said, we have an ocean view....our son has a verandah which I wouldn't spring for even if I had the $$$$;)

We have done inside, port hole, verandah....If I want to SPLURGE i do the verandah, No we dont use it alot...but i think as our kids are older now we may use it more than we did before....

But it is nice to have just to walk out on in the morning or having coffe brought to your room and sitting outside.
also nice to have some ventilation when everyone is getting ready and showers are making room hot.

PORTHOLE for me will almost always be a MUST!!!
Sometimes you just have to be in your room, and i dont want to miss what is going on outside....

I happen to be in the room when we were leaving CC on our last cruise and even though i was just out of the shower and not presentable i could watch the island roll away as we sailed off.

MANY MANY MANY times i will wake up in the night and look out the window sometimes you see something sometimes you see just stars but it is always a great view,

A window is nice to have so you dont feel like you are sleeping in a cave sometimes it is hard to wake up in those dark rooms with no windows.

BUT all in all if i had to sail and only sail in an inside i would do it.

IMHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

quick question:

has anyone sailed before on a DCL cruise when it was full.....our trip (I assume) will be at capacity............

also: heads up! there will be an interior room released on , i think, the 5th deck real soon............don't know how scarce the rooms are yet:confused3

Just a quick reminder that Southwest opens up it's schedule tomorrow through March 11,2010.

I'll be up early hoping for some good airfares. Hope you get them too if you need them!

even though SWA said they open rates at 10 am (when I called earlier today) I am hoping that the 12:01 number is correct as stated by other DISers....if not available by 12:15 I'm hitting the mattress and starting again early Tues:confused3

Good luck to all our friends looking for SWA from Islip - just booked @ 7 AM and MANY flights were already sold out!!! Keep us all posted so we can complain that their are not enough flights available!!

Just booked our flights in and out of Tampa (saving $400 vs MCO.) No bargain but its booked - one step closer to the cruise!

I just checked SWA & the rates aren't too bad flying out of Chicago. I can get either $112 or $99 depending on how late we want to fly out the Fri night b4. Then $133 coming home. I have gotten less for other WDW trips, but I know this is considered a "holiday".
I can't book them though b/c I want to use credit & have to wait til they expire in Sept to extend them.
I will be nervous waiting & watching to make sure the prices don't go up or sell out.

Well, we did not get what I had planned on. We have rewards to use and there are no rewards flights available down or back on Fri/ Sat or Sat/Sun. So we were forced :woohoo: to fly down on Thurs. That means I had to book 2 nights at Boardwalk before the cruise.:woohoo: Now I just need to figure out how we are getting home.:goodvibes

oh how sad 2 nights on the boardwalk
How will you ever manage:lmao:

That is awesome.....
I love the Disney resorts. There is something so calming about them.
I actually feel like i breath better in a disney resort.

Oh well......think we r just staying at the Radison in port canaveral.

Looking to book Southwest and from my airport , Albany NY there are no Wanna Get Away fares? cheapest fares are $330 each way

$660 before taxes per person
HELP

will they release Wanna Get Away Fares or am I out of luck?

The Wanna Get Away Fares from Islip, NY were sold out @ 6 AM Tuesday morning - not sure if they will be opening any others!!
MDEZOT - we also had rapid rewards we were unable to use - I was afraid not to book as we have been closed out of flights in the past - guess we'll have to find another vacation so we can use them!!!

It is feeling more real! I booked the airfare and hotel for the night before the cruise yesterday so everything is falling into place. Sounds like airfare is proving to be astronomical for you NY folks :sad1: I used expedia and was able to get non stop flight from Detroit to Orlando on Friday, a night at the Dolphin, and return non stop flight back on Saturday for about $380 pp. Still high but it was the best available for that week. Now the only thing left to do is get the rental car. :goodvibes

Southwest fares were too high for us too! (We're flying out of Boston)

I used bing.com/travel and was able to find better fares...$556 total for two adults roundtrip, not the best fares but certainly better than anything else I've seen and definitely better than Disney air which was costing us $536 per person :scared1:

we're flying into MCO on Fri night....there was a better rate to tampa BUT you have to consider late-night drive time as a factor...we land at MCO at 10 pm

we'll return home out of Tampa...saving about $80 per person and a better departure time......we would have been rushed to MCO if we had bothered to eat lunch AND I like to eat lunch....I'm funny that way

anyhow: WE'RE GOING ON A CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where are you non-WDW folks staying on Fri nite? radisson looks good but so does country inn suites:confused3

we're staying at the MCO Hyatt using a stay certificate, which comes out to $135 for the night...our flight gets in at 9:25pm so just being able to walk straight to the hotel was convenient :thumbsup2

we've made a reservation for a car rental and will be driving to the port in the next morning :cool1:

We'll stay at Hyatt MCO. Our 2 flight choices come in at 7:50 pm or 10:05 pm. We will most likely pick the earlier flight & pull DS out of school a little early.
I got my Passporter DCL book finally today! It has so much info!

We are doing exacty that- voucher, late flight, car rental.

We decided on a car rental just in case we forget something.

Glad to hear some of you were able to secure flights. Makes the cruise seem that much closer.

We don't fly home until Sunday afternoon. I am still looking into Saturday night accomodations. New discount codes came out for the world this week but only until 2/16/10. I will check back in a week or two to see if they extended them to our stay. Since it is only one night we would like to try a WDW resort we have not stayed at before. I guess I will have to wait for the rates to decide.

Is it time to cruise yet?:hourglass
