February 19, 2011 Magic Western - Presidents of the Caribbean!

The game is on now!!!!!

This is looking to be a Northeast cruise for sure!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks for the warm welcome! It really is shaping up to be a Northeast Cruise!

We are in for the meet and door graphics. Not coordinated enough to be the FE director - barely keeping my head above water with the kids, work and house. I really need to sit down and do some research on excursions, Palo reservations, where to stay the night before, etc. I think I have plenty of time but the next 10 months will probably fly by and we will be packing for the cruise before we know it!

Hello All
Getting ready to book the Feb 19, 2011 cruise. Any suggestions on who to book with??

Also, any info for a first time cruiser would be appreciated (even if it seems elementary to you it could probablly help me)

Have 2 daughters who would love to get in on the FE if more are needed (would just need to know rules and details)

:thumbsup2:cool1:

You do one FE per participant....
so far, we are discussing a kids-only FE so each of your offsprings would get a pocket on the FE.....

I hope you join us.

If you do, don't forget to let us know names and ages of cruisers and your location, please.

How would you like to be IN CHARGE of the FE? We would gladly pay you off in free hot dogs for the length of the cruise...:lmao:

seriously, we DO need a FE director and YOU may just be the one.......

we would definatley like to be part of the FE ....
being that I have never done it before, I dont think I would be the right person to take charge of it... we are very close to to booking. I recieved a quote last night from a travel agent in Texas that is over $1000 cheaper then Disney gave me directly

the 4 of us (wife and 2 daughters 3&6) would be coming from NY to join all of you

be wary of weird price quotes....chances are, one you add the taxes and fees the prices will be the same....Disney does not discount cruise prices (except for special deals...kids sail free, etc) and the travel agent bargains are usually in OBC's.....

However, it IS possible that your agent has "group rate" blocks and may have lightly better rates than normally posted.......DO check them out carefully.

AND let us know how you made out! always looking for bargains:thumbsup2

Where in NY are you guys?

There seems to be a good group of playmates for my little ZuZu coming along on this cruise.

GOOD LUCK AND HOPE TO ADD YOU TO OUR LIST SOON!!!!!

by the way, being a FE director only means you have to keep a running list of participants, ages, and room #'s.....this is the last time I am going to prod the group about this. Eventually a FE director will arrive or we won't have any FE's. Either way, I've done my part.

Bill,

Don't forget us

Maronvin(Vinnie), DW(Megan), DS (Joseph) 9, DS (Vincent) 7.

We are also traveling with friends who have DS and DD twins that will be 9 too.

Thanks,
Vinnie

We are all booked
We will be coming from Cooperstown NY
My wife and I will be bringing our 3 & 6 year old daughters.. cant wait

if anyone does decide to take control of the FE, please include us..we would love to participate

Egg.-I have DDs that will be 4 & 7 next year - looks like we all have similar ages...
I def. want to do the FEs- but this is our first cruise as well and I have no idea what to do- but if no one else steps up I will try to do my best!!!!!

wcw- you'll help and guide me right?

I will assist to the best of my VERY limited knowledge............

egg: WELCOME! names and ages of all cruisers? not just the kiddies, if possible

Maron: sorry....left you out by mistake. Friends names? ages?

DENISE: do you know how to use WORKS on your comp? Setingup a simple list/chart MIGHT be the best way to keep track of FE participants and ages/rooms.......

And now for something completely different:

who among us are early risers (like me)

anybody expecting to do excursions? which ones?

when will you be booking hotel stay (IF you are arriving early)?

which decks are we scattered among?

The Stevens family will be
adults-Chris & Kristin
daughters- Maya age 6 Morgan age 3

please keep us posted as we would love to partake

Hi!

Definitely interested in being part of FE for the kids. I realized I only gave my name at my first post . My DH is Joe-43 at time of cruise. My DD is Tatum-10 at time of cruise.

We are definitely early risers, plan on doing excursions (unsure of what at this time-any suggestions?), and I think we we are planning to spend Thursday and Friday night at WDW. We are new DVC owners, and it would be our first experience staying on points.:thumbsup2

It's not too important for you adult-type people BUT for the kiddies: please post their what their ages will be when we cruise...(not as of today:thumbsup2)

EGG: how did you make out with the TX travel agent? Most curious.

DW and I will "explore" various ports (we LOVE Key West) but plan no excursions (as of now, at least)

we will fly in Fri and stay one nite

we are on Deck 5.......

when I am up early, I'll see you at the coffee shop!

any Karaoke animals in this group?

I think I know what we'll do for FE gifts....its a secret!

Just got done reading the special deal thread and people are booking for 2011 already...

even though i think that OP was really an advertisement:

does anyone use priceline, orbitz, etc? Too much hassle for me in the past...just need a place to sleep, perchance to dream

where have you experienced folks stayed?

has anyone booked yet?
:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

we will most likely be taking a direct flight from Albany NY to Orlando...does anyone suggest spending the extra money to fly in the night before and staying at a hotel? also, has anyone used a limo for transfers instead of the Disney bus? would be intrested to hear from mroe experienced cruisers on both subjects!!! Thanks

and I already started picking things up for the FE..so lets keep the intrest alive!!

wcw57---we decided to book directly through DCL for now..if we find a better deal, we can always transfer the reservation. the folks in Texas just seemed a little sketchy and I didt want to risk it

We are heading down a couple of nights early. I put a hold on a room at the Country Inn & Suites but am hoping to score a deal either there or someplace else nearby. We are hoping to fly from Hartford to Orlando but may switch to another airport if we can get cheaper fares. Our other thought is to get a rental car and return it Friday night, take a shuttle from the hotel to the port. More than likely we will get some sort of shuttle or service from the port to the airport but I really don't want to think about returning home after the cruise. ;)

Ok so I will be FE director- if no one else wants to? Again first DC- First cruise period- so I hope I dont let you all down!!!!!!!! I think the FE thing sounds so fun anyway so I am happy to do it!!! Happy to hear others are buying already to b/c my DH thinks I am nuts to be picking things up already...
wcw- I have no idea what WORKS is but I could make a list on MS Word or something right?--- again help from you guys will be greatly appreciated!! my mom- DG who we are giving this cruise to as a surprise (70 bday) is an early riser- and I am but not by choice b/c of my 3 kids--- however I do enjoy getting up early on vaca and walking around before everyone gets up.....

:goodvibes
