Can't believe ther isn't a thread already started for this. Let's get it started. It will be me (Bekky), DH (Mark), DS-13 (Tyler) and DS-12 (Zachary). It will be-by then- our 3rd cruise (2nd on the Dream).

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

Well, I guess that I'm going to be the first one on this cruise meet thread, since the OP had to cancel due to school schedules.

This cruise will be our 10th Disney cruise, but our first without our girls. It will be myself (Amy) and DH (Chris). We figured this will be the one that puts us into Platinum after the cruise. We're going to celebrate our anniversary (which will have been in December) and of course, Valentine's Day!

Hi Alikat99!! My DH booked this for us today - and I'm really looking forward to it!! Just the two of us. Hopefully we'll see more folks soon!

~Penny

I just booked this cruise, but I booked it with my two little girls. It will be my 2nd cruise on the dream. They have no idea I booked anything. My first cruise will be in November with my youngest daughter and she doesn't know about that one either.

Everything in my house is a surprise;)

Hello all,

Trying to talk Amy into doing a three day and look what pops up a Valentine's Day Cruise!!! And the price is really nice!

Anyone done Valentine's Day before?

Amy like's the idea that there aren't any days at sea. Being Navy it's a take it or leave it for days at sea. On our last (and first) cruise we had really rough waters, missed Key West and almost missed Nassau. Amy got sea sick. Not loosing her lunch level but a bit dizzy.

Jim

Good luck on the decision! I have never done anything fun on Valentines Day. So this will be my first time with it as well.

We sailed on Valentine's Day on the Wonder years ago. We got a great deal on a FL resident rate. There isn't too much happening, but we did see red, white & pink balloons all over, desserts with special Valentine's day toppers, etc. It was fun!

Well we, Amy and I, have our reservations. Moved it over from the 21st on the Wonder.

Think we will be doing a FE? I will organize if more than a couple people are interested.

Jim

We're so excited to go on this cruise! It's my first cruise EVER! Along with me, it'll be my dear sweet hubby, our super excited DS (age 5), and my wonderful, amazing MIL who I honestly adore. MIL and DH have been on cruises, but never Disney cruises. We also tacked a 4 night stay at the Poly with park hopper at the beginning of our trip! :cheer2:

I am actually a little nervous about the cruise. I keep having panics that someone will fall off the ship! but I'm devouring every TR and every Dream thread I can find here and I can't wait to go. Still deciding whether to do door decos and FE. Seems like 3 nights won't really be long enough to traipse around finding people's doors. What do you think?

Don't worry. There are high rails everywhere and crew members everywhere.

The FE only took us about hour to deliver it to everyone and we had 50+ on ours. Plus we stopped to check our people's doors. Right now I think we may have a dozen people on the thread? Not a whole lot to take a ton of time.

Me, I love decorating the doors!!! It is fun and funny when you come around the corner and people are talking about your door and taking photos. One time I stepped out to someone taking a photo as I opened the door!

Jim

You are talking me into it! Can you please link me to the FE thread? Also, is there a door decorating FAQ? I'm kinda new here on Dis. :)

I would say we would need a few people to make it fun. I so I will just get the info via PM and send out a spread sheet if that works for those/

The only major thing about doors is they have to be on magnets. The ship doesn't want use to use tape or other fasteners. I printed mine on the magnetic sheets you can get in the craft area of the printer paper. Here is what my door looked like (after FE gifts :lmao:) -

To get the graphics you can make them and also there are a few people that volunteer their time and efforts. Check out this thread -

Milliepie also has links to a bunch of her work that you can customize on your own. Millie made for the group at the top. Millie also did the Pirate one on the bottom, the Stitch life saver above that, and the Stitch ears & the Tigger ears on each side of the door number.

BTW if anyone is interested From the first cruise I went on for Hidden Mickeys -

http://www.4shared.com/dir/eJp7KR92/_online.html

Three sections -

1) What is a Hidden Mickey - explanations

2) Magic Hidden Mickeys - the Hunt

3) Hints & Cheats for Magic Hidden Mickeys - a little extra help

Setup to do as a scavanger hunt with a point based system. It is 3 PDFs each about 130-230 kb, 3-4 pages for each section. I will look about scanning the ones for the Dream is anyone wants.

Jim

Just booked this cruise. It will be me, DW, DS16 and DD13. Waiting for cabin assignment, but we booked 6A. Somewhat of a last-minute decision because the kids have off the entire week of Mardi Gras.

This will be the cruise that makes us GOLD. It will also put us in the group of people that have sailed on every Disney ship.

I saw the earlier post discussing the FE. We're interested in participating if there are enough other cruisers to do one.

Quick suggestion of thread name. How about "Dreaming of a Happy Valentine's Day" or something similar? Mardi Gras is 2 days before we sail, but I don't know if that means anything to anyone else.

Amy and I love Mardi Gras:joker: Went to the weekend before Mardi Gras weekend last year (the one with Barkus) and had a blast. That was after we did New years the year before. We are planning to be there the 2nd weekend of the season. Some day I plan to head out there for the full deal and get there the Friday before and stay until Ash Wednesday.

May even be able to get my Navy Reserve "2 weeks a year" duty as security for the Navy float. Really hoping for that.

Did you notice that Mardi Gras has a different schedule this year due to the Super Bowl?

Cool on the FE. Can everyone who wants to be part raise there hand? So far I think we have 3 cabins with 9 people who have expressed interest? A couple more and I think it would be worth it.

Jim

Yes, I noticed the schedule change. Someone should have realized how early Mardi Gras is this year before trying to get the Super Bowl.

I ride in Zeus, the parade in Metairie on Lundi Gras, which is the day before Mardi Gras for those that don't know.

One of my bucket list items is to go to a Ball (I have the kilt, jacket and tie) and to ride a float. There is one that you can pay to do it so it is in the future :D
