FEBRUARY 14, 2009 (very early roll-call!)

i also have a large credit with jet blue, so either will use for our july trip or the feb one, although jet blue is late to come out with fares as opposed to other airlines.

Now, this will sound too hopeful... but I put in dates for the last week of January from a Friday to the following Saturday on kayak.com. United is offering air through Dulles for only 250.00 each.

I hope we can only be so lucky. For now I will keep my fingers crossed.

Hi everyone, well I had to stop losing sleep over my cty 12 and booked a 9. Loved to have been upgraded but you just never know where you"ll end up. Too much snow and ice here in my neck of the woods!!

RubberG - Congrats on taking the plunge...waiting & wondering stresses me out BIG TIME, too.

Hi to everyone else! I'm waiting for my next cc billing statement to cycle through so I can buy a Hyatt Certificate:rotfl: . Hopefully they'll still have a room left when I'm ready to book!

I haven't thought much about the cruise lately, except to hope that with the way the economy is that DCL will offer some more incentives or onboard credit...:rotfl: I know, but I can always dream, right?

Have a good day & let's hope for no more snow & that the dang wind dies down!

Hay Jodi,

Will you stay at the Hyatt the night before the cruise, or Saturday night after the cruise.

Wow 13 miles, good for you. I am a power walker, I try to walk about 3 1/2 miles in one hour. I am also a swimmer.

I looked like such a dork, swimming laps, in the small adult pool, last June (on the Med cruise) in-between highly intoxicated Disneyiers :rotfl2:

I know it's early, but if anyone wants to power walk on sea days, or sea night, I'm game. :thumbsup2

Jodi-

When I called to make the Hyatt reservation, they never even asked for my gift certificate number. I think you can make a reservation and say that you will have a CHIOCE certificate.

We are booked right now just for the night before the cruise. We may fly back on Sunday.... depending on airfare. And if so, we are also thinking about staying at MCO if possible.

I'll be up for power walking/jogging/running anything! I'm looking forward to eating quite a bit and I must balance it out somehow!:)

I was wondering if anyone was going to search for airfare, I looked today and United only goes until the beginning of Feb. Please keep us posted on any deals. I bought my air in July for our Feb trip when Airtran released those dates. Got a great price roch-mco nonstop 132 each way. We always go during pres week so I know all about the prices:eek:

Hi guys,

Just booked our airfare one way down, with Continental. I paid a few dollars more than I normally do, but, it's a non stop, & early flight out in the AM.

We paid $132.00 w/tax = $150.00 phew......

Coming home we can be more flexable with airports, & price. Will book that next week.

Let me know how you all make out.

Good luck :thumbsup2

wow great rate-that is what i paid this past feb nonstop airtran purchased in july. i checked continental and the fare for leaving on the 12th of feb is 144 and that is with one stop. i prefer nonstop esp during the winter months so i guess i will have to wait for airtran or jetblue. they seem to be the only carriers out of rochester that go nonstop. sometimes delta does, i will have to keep watching.

that is an awesome rate!

from syracuse it is even a bit more- 250.00 one way with one stop from syracuse. Looks like most fares will be out in a week, so I will look into that. I too will prefer a nonstop but our only option will be jet blue which those fares will not come out until late summer. So if I see a deal between now and then, I will be sure to book.

Try this website, they usually come out with the prices before the website does. Last year, if I remember correctly, they posted Jetblue fares, before Jetblues website did. I was reading everyone's great fares, on the transportation thread

http://www.kayak.com/

Also, sign up with
http://www.yapta.com/download/ie/
email you everytime your price comes down.

Good luck everyone :wizard:

Patty - OK, I tried Kayak & all it had was SW airlines, then it directed me to their website, which obviously doesn't have fares yet:confused3 . I don't think I'm doing it right:confused: I'm such a tool

Oh, & by the way, to any & all who are going to exercising @ the buttcrack of dawn on deck 4, count me in! I love running around in circles:lmao: !

What time is the buttcrack of dawn? We're going to be on vacation. I think we ought to do the plumber's butt of dawn!:rotfl:

Hi Jodi,

You are doing it right, try checking very early tomorrow morn. Your flights should be listed then. It will be 330 day in. Kaywak will take you to the website, & then you book from there. Kayak will let you book early before Travelocity, or Orbitz.

Here is a thread, started about President's week for next year

I have never used this strategy before.... buying a one way ticket as soon as the rates come out for the departing flight and then waiting for the next part of the information to come out for the returning flight.

And it has worked for you?

I only have booked round trip in the past, but I found a flight today with united. Leaving 2/13 from SYR at 725pm and arriving MCO through dc by 11:54pm for only 125.00!! That is an excellent rate providing we can find a flight home for under 200.00.

What do you think?
