FEBRUARY 14, 2009 (very early roll-call!)

yes i am a power walker! and plan to walk deck 4 every am at sea, also will take yoga classes if available. my dh is kinda shy so getting him to the meet is a if if situation. my dd probably not cause i have a spa appt at 2 and hope she will be in lab !

How about 8:00 am, is this too early or too late?

What time do you think you'll be walking? I plan on walking deck 4 too, just not sure when. I am kind of tied to the baby's schedule...but of course if I woke up early before he did it wouldn't really matter if I was gone.* Of course, it's VACATION and sleeping in is good, too!

*Because DH would still be with him, not that I would leave the baby alone! :rotfl:

Ahh.....I've forgotten what it's like with a baby's schedule. My DD is 14. Do you think you can sneak away from 8 to 9 or 7 to 8?

My last trip in the Med, I actually did laps in the adult pool. I kinda looked goofy, doing laps in a small pool. I do it home, & didn't want to miss out while at sea.

So, if you see some crazy women doing laps in the adult pool, you know it's me.

I'm almost all packed :cheer2:

We are too! Did you book it with your cruise?
We booked it separately and I am not sure how it works. We don't fly into MCO until 10:30pm on Friday. Do you know when and where do we check in with the cruise line? How does the luggage thing work?

Hi Jodi,

I booked the Hyatt myself (using the online coupons for $140.00 a night)

When you arrive at 10:30 pm, someone from the Hyatt will retrive your suitcases in baggage claim if you would like. They will deliever it your room. You just have to describe your bags to the front desk :thumbsup2 I am not sure, if I want to go that route.

When you check in, you have to tell them that you are on the "Disney cruise". They will tell Disney you are here, & let you know, where to meet the bus in the AM. They told me we will lock our suitcases in our room, & someone from the Hyatt brings them to the Disney bus.

Thank you for the reply. I think we will pick up our suitcases ourselves. We are getting there so late and I don't want to wait up for our suitcases to show up. Besides, all suitcases look alike now of days. I would hate to get the wrong one delivered to my room.

Just pick a time that you like & I'll see how it fits into the toddler's schedule. If he is awake, he could join me in his stroller. DH is great about taking care of the kids, but he hardly ever gets to sleep in, so I don't want to wreck his chances to do that while on vacation.

I don't think I'll be joining you in the swimming. I only appear in a swimsuit under extreme conditions...like being on a tropical island where it would be a crime not to partake in the beautiful Caribbean waters. hehe. :beach:

I am packed (90%) for the stuff I can pack ahead! :cool1: Just need the diaper bag, bathroom stuff, have to print out cruise docs, airplane diversions, and print a few more door magnets. I couldn't possibly not use all of my sheets of magnet paper! HA!

i think not before 7 but you have atoddler and i have a 10 yr old.my dh plans on going to the fit room early and then coming back to the room to get my dd so they can swim together before the kids club i think i will be able to leave her in the room till til my dh gets back. with munchies from room service! so you pick the time since you are on a tighter schedule with a toodler! i remember those days!

Definitely not before 7, but again, I'll let you guys pick a time & I'll come when I can. Not on St. Maarten day, though...early excursion time.

i am so computer chalenged! i can't paste and copy your quotes yet! To purtypat1and Jennifer W. 8:00am on deck 4 sounds great! Sea days only as well we have early excursions too! Which ones are you doing?

we can wear lime green, isn't that the color of diser's?

Ok girls, it is 8am on deck 4 on sea days. (but we won't hold you to it, if you feel like sleeping in)

I have no lime green, but we will find one another, or if not, we will meet at the greet.

in order to quote, you just press quote on the bottom of this link. I am not quite sure how to do much much more, wish I new how to post a photo, I would put my photo on the page.(then I wouldn't have to wear green lol)

Off to work.......

I'm almost all packed :cheer2:

I packed one bag with just cruise stuff like all the dinner garb and pirate stuff. The other will be shorts and t's and things we will use at wdw. I plan on doing a load of laundry at akv. we will be in a value studio so I will use the free facilities. Anyone stay here at akv or akl? does anyone know if you can carry on a garment bag, like the type you get when you buy a dress from the store (not a luggage garment bag). I was hoping to carry on my long dress and my daughters. Really do not want to pack these. Thanks Liz

90% PACKED????:scared1:
I have everything I need for clothes set aside. But I haven't 'packed' it yet. (I do the ziplock baggie thing for the girls.) I don't want things getting too wrinkled or creased.
i am concerned about the formal wear. I have a dress that is all pleated. If that thing is gets wrinkled, it will be a pain to iron.

I did my last minute shopping yesterday....autograph photomat, clear over the door shower organizer, gift bags (for FE's), small white boards for our doors, new mini straightening iron.
Sometimes I think the clothes are the easy part of packing, it is all of the other 'cr*p' we need to take which is time consuming and tedious. (jewelry, shoes, tolietries, electronics).
:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: this is how I will feel for the next 10 days!!!:hyper: :hyper::hyper:

I don't know for sure as i'm not that seasoned a dis'er, but i thought it had to do with the mickey mouse head paint chips at home depot. you know those paper sample colors of disney paints. when we where going to dl 2yrs ago there was a post about tying those to your bags or pocketbooks so other diser's would spot you. i tied them on every bag and when we got to luggage claim they were easy to spot! lol if you don't have green on that's ok i'll wear my tinkerbell shirt so you guys can spot me!

thanks for teaching me how to quote! :laundy: starting to get really excited! i couldn't sleep the other pm and my dh says "your excited"that's why you can't sleep! and i keep thinking of all the stuff left to do,pack, clean. etc. that could be it too!!!!!:beach:

Yeah, me & the boys (our clothes, not bathroom stuff, sock or undies) are 90% packed  , DH is ON HIS OWN. Of course, Mr. Minimalist thinks he can get by with a small duffle bag for 12 days. :crazy2: I do not do the ziplock thing, as the boys will be re-using shirts with shorts, etc. over the vaca.

For formal night I made an executive decision for our family and it is this:
::cop:: Jennifer_W's family from Minnesota is going only semi-formal on formal night!!!
Hope I didn't shock anyone, but I had the choice between a formal gown and jacket that would require bringing hose and heels, etc., and a nice skirt and sweater & the skirt is what I would feel more comfy in, so that is what I am wearing. The older boys will be in dockers and shirts & ties, toddler DS will be in khakis & sweater vest, etc. DH will probably wear a sportcoat and khakis. I really, really hate to get super dressy, so this is what's comfortable for us. Less to pack, too, as I can wear that outfit (shock!) more than once.

OK, I have justified it in my mind. :upsidedow

I know what you mean about all the extra stuff needed for a cruise or vacation. I shudder to think of the $ spent. I'm NOT saying ME, but SOME people have gotten new purses, diaper bags, shoes, travel sized hot roller sets....:rolleyes1

How are you guys packing? Some of everybody's stuff in each suitcase in case you lose a bag in transit, or pack the stuff for WDW in one bag and cruise stuff in the rest? I guess I didn't organize my bags THAT way at all--just some of everybody's in each bag. Hmm, should make pre-cruise pretty interesting!

Jennifer W,
My DW and I also believe in the minimalist way. We should be able to get a family of 6 into 2 large suitcases and a fold over for the 11 days. This vacation, we believe in the minimal staples of t-shirts and swim suits.

We are also bringing semiformal attire for the formal nights. I do have a couple of Tuxs at home but I just don't want to schlep them to WDW and the cruise for one night of dress up. I find it just so much more important to have pirate garb than a penguin suit:rotfl2: I am bringing a sportcoat and Khakis for formal night and Palo(a must).

The family is really fired up for the trip. The kids won't stop talking about it!! We're airborne in 8 days!!!:cool1:

I am not shocked. In fact, we only do semi-formal for formal night. My guys think dressing up is wearing the black jeans with the work boots. I could NEVER get them in Tuxes.

I'm with you guys on the formal stuff. My DH is like "um, this is supposed to be relaxing, right?". I mean, don't get me wrong we won't show up on formal nite looking like complete trolls :clown: , but we're just not real dress-up kind of people. Hope we don't offend the others who go the whole 9 yards & dress to the hilt :rolleyes1 :confused3 . Oh well, at least we won't be wearing t's & flip flops :lmao: .

I wake up in the night too, worrying about this & that, wondering if I have enough outfits, etc. UGH!!:guilty: . I'm such a tool!

GrizzButt, waiting for that race report!::yes::

When I think about the cruise I get all :hyper:

Wondering if I should change our excursion from snorkeling in St. John to the Helmet Dive thingie @ Coral world :scratchin ??

thank you guys ! i will not pack heels!!!!! i hate to dress up too! we all need our own suitcases. my dd would drive me:crazy2: everything is usually topsy turvey inside her suit case!some stuff in day bags for each of us but mostly separate suitcasesfor each. i have a big bin that i keep putting stuff in and taking out and puting in and taking out ! that's what i'm doing when i should be sleeping!lol i have to climb over dh to get out of bed! i am going to drive him :crazy2:1
