February 14-18, 2010 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Hi, guys! I'm on the cruise, too! I have two kids, at sailing they will be 8 and 4 1/2. This is our FIRST Disney Cruise and we are beyond excited!!!!!

We are on Deck 2 in a Deluxe Inside Stateroom...cat 10 or 11 I think? :confused3

Welcome, This is our first disney cruise too. My son will be 10 when we sail. My daughter will be 14. I figured we might want to sail with Disney before they get too old for it. Or do you ever get too old for Disney, I still get excited every time we go to WDW.:yay:
We have Cat.12's , so who know where we will be?? I am just hoping for the best.

What is a fish extender exchange?

That's what DH said when I started talking about it. I think the exact quote was 'OK what's a fish and why does it need extending?' :lmao:

Outside your stateroom door is a fish on the wall (used by DCL to leave mail on). A fish extender is a fabric multipocketed hanger which you hand from the fish. When I've got our Aug trip photos organised I'll post a pic of ours.

The gift exchange is when a group of people agree to leave surprise gifts for each other in the FE; can be a little gift per person or per family, one per day or per cruise, candy, home made gifts, disney trinkets etc. It's great fun planning it, creeping down hallways delivering the gifts and coming back to find goodies in your own FE.

If we decide to go ahead with a fish extender exchange then I'm very happy to organise it! :goodvibes

Hi!

This will be our second and I think I am more excited (if that's possible!!) this time as I know what a fantastic time we had and I don't have the sea-sickness worries I had before. I can't wait!!

Karriemouse: I like the idea of the FE exchange. Tell us what we need to do...

If there are 4 of you and book a 12 they give you an automatic upgrade to 11!

That is what I have heard. Just won't know what room and deck till right before the cruise. I liked the price , just the not knowing where we will be is driving me crazy and how long is it till we set sail. haha

I have seen some photos of people decorated their doors. How popular is this? I think I might do this. If I can figure out how they did it.

Hello Everyone...

We just booked the 2/14/10 cruise as well:woohoo:. We (me, my DH, DD (7), DS (6)) are very excited to be sailing DCL again.

Wishing you all a great cruise!

BTW, our last cruise was around the holidays and there were a lot of cabin doors decorated. The doors are metal, so some people decorate with all kind of magnets.

:goodvibes

Nita: A fish extender is a hanging thing with pockets for small gifts. Apparrently there is a fish clip outside your stateroom door (hence the "fish") which the "extender" is hung from.

In luv: We are also on Deck 2 (Cat 10 midship)! And we have a DS who turns 5 in December! My DS is kindof shy at first, so I worry if he will stay in the club! Also, Nita and the family travelling with us have 9 yr old sons, are your children boys or girls?

GREAT! My DD will be a few months shy of turning 5 and will be shy at first. But I do think she will stay in the club. We went on a NCL Cruise this year and last year, and this year she did better than last year.
My son will be 8, and I am SURE he will love the club!

So we are in the same location on the ship! We will probably bump into each other in the halls! :)

I've seen people do this, and I am so impressed. I cannot sew a button, let alone one of these creative things. How can someone get involved without having to sew one? Is there a way to create one WITHOUT a sewing machine? I would DEFINITELY love to do this. Seems like so much fun! :thumbsup2

I have seen pics of people who put TONS of magnets on their door! Most people make their own magnets from home, using magnet paper that goes into your printer. Definitely something worth a try! I have also seen some REALLY cute character ears to decorate the door, which goes around your cabin number. Looks like Mickey Ears, Pirate Mickey Ears, Goofy Ears, Donald, etc. VERY CUTE!!!!!

I'm with you, in luv, I am not naturally creative. If I think about it, and look and look and look I can usually come up with something but it takes a whole lot of effort!

Hi everyone! We will also be sailing on the Feb 14th cruise. This is our first cruise as a family so let's just say, our girls are beyond excited! It will be me, DH, and my two DD's (9 & 11). We booked a category 10 when the promo started and somehow snagged a secret porthole room. I was pretty excited (and surprised) about that! Now I just have to somehow find a cheap flight to get there so we don't have to endure the torturous drive from Michigan.

I would love to participate in a fish extender exchange... now that I know what they are. LOL!

Look forward to getting to know all you as we anxiously count down the days!

Welcome, Jandj524 and Bronwyn

Glad to see more people join in. My kids are DS (9) and DD(13)but they both have a birthday before the cruise. So 10 and 14 by that time.

I have been looking at all the magnets that people are posting and they are too cute, I might try to do some of those just for fun and maybe so our son can find our door, lol. The FE thing does sound like fun but I am not that gifted or talented when it comes to sewing. I might have to find someone to make me one and the gifts will be store bought, lol

Laura Ann.... Where are you guys staying the night before, I know you told me once but now I can't find it. Thats me Mrs. Unorganized.....

We are staying at the Quality Suites the night before the cruise, $108 total after AAA discount and park & cruise package. Sure beats the $200 (gulp) we were going to pay at Country Inn & Suites!

Welcome bronwyn ! It's so great to see more people joining us!

I know you didn't ask me, but I thought I would share anyway. LOL

I will be staying at Four Points by Sheraton 5 miles away, I Cocoa Beach. I got the room FREE through Starwood Preferred Guest and they offer a park and shuttle program too. Hope it works out!

Hi...

I stumbled across this yesterday, lots of "Mickey Ear" options...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2172891 ...looks pretty simple (now if I only I would just do it ;>)

Last year's cruise, I searched and saved many files, bought the magnet paper --- but never got around to printing anything:) Oh well, maybe this time I will get it done...they are just so cute.
