February 11, 2006 Roll Call

Ok, so here's my question. For those of you who have already gone on previous disney cruises, is it as good the second time? This will be our second cruise, we had a fabulous time last year and I'm just hoping the "magic" will still be there. How did you find the shows the second time around?
Lisa

We've just booked our February 11, 2006. Its our first Disney cruise.

It will be me,my husband, and our 3 year old daughter.

We live in Florida and have yearly passes to Disney, so I think she will absolutely love this. I can't wait to swim with dolphins.

Only downside, we have late seating for dinner. How can they expect a family with a three year old to eat at eight?

Still, if we can't get early, we'll work around it.

Jennifer

Hi everyone,

Just posted in another thread for this, but I see that this is the active one. We just booked for our family. It will be me, DH, DS11 and DD6. We are really excited. We did our first Disney cruise this summer on the West Coast and we are hooked. We are really looking forward to being on the Magic again!

Our family is looking forward to our first cruise! We talk about it everyday! Haven't booked any excursions yet, but it sounds like we need to. Should we leave the kids on board for Key West? I don't know whether they would enjoy it.

There are six of us. Myself, DH, DS12, DD10, DS9, DD5.

My inlaw's and single sil (29) will also be onboard.

Hi Susan,

Looks like you and I are the newbies here. I see your oldest DS and youngest DD are close in age to my two. My kids will be glad to know there are kids their age to meet. I was a little worried that since it was during a school week there would be mostly really young children on board. We loved our first cruise in July and we can't wait to go again. It truly is an amazing family vacation!

Just booked our cruise this morning! Myself, DH and DD (3 yrs old) are so excited for our 2nd Disney cruise!
We had 2nd seating this year and last year (when DD was 2 1/2) and I liked it. She often ate before we went to dinner and would sleep in her stroller at our table. Later seating gives your child the opportunity to enjoy the shows while they're awake rather than at 8pm when they're getting tired/cranky. See, there's always a silver lining!

Hey Everyone!
Thought I'd join the fun! This will be our 3rd time on the Magic, and I can't wait to go!
We're a big group this time, two families. Myself and DH, DS (15), DS (13 turning 14 on the trip), my pal Deb, her DH, their DS (13) and DD (9). We figure we'll never see the kids! :earboy2:

Counting the days!
Lisa

My DH, DB and DD8 are going on the cruise and are getting really excited. My niece is so excited...she's already planning her days!

When do we get to go online and make our Palo ressies? This is our 2nd cruise I'm pretty happy to be able to do this online rather than making a mad dash for ressies and signing kids up for club, ect.

If you are Castaway Club, you can book 90 days out. If you're a first timer, 75 days out. I think concierge level is 105 days.
Hey, Has anybody been cruisin the other threads and checked out all the new stuff that was added to the Magic in drydock last month?? It sounds really cool! Also, heard about making magnetic signs and sticking them to your cabin door?? Sounds like fun!

Lisa

So would that be Saturday November 12 at 3am
or
Sunday November 13 at 3 am?

Thanks

OK, I've counted on the calendar backwards and forwards like 5 times! :rotfl: I THINK it would be Sunday at 3:00 am(12:00 for me).....but maybe I'll give Disney a "ringie dingie" just to be sure! :p

Lisa

Whew! I thought it was just me! I kept counting backwards on my calendar and still wasn't sure! :confused3 Could you post when you find out.

We are really getting excited as well. I can't wait to start making reservations for Palo and our excursions. I wonder if we will get to go to Cozumel or if they will still be rerouting to Costa Maya? I don't really care, we are just happy to be going back on the Magic. The new additions sound really great.

Oh, and the magnetic door signs are fun! I made some for our west coast cruise and surprised my family with them. At first my DH rolled his eyes a bit, but he grew to like them and they now decorate our refrigerator. It was funny because just yesterday he said I should be sure to make some for our February cruise. I am going to turn him into a DISman yet!

Here's the scoop..the friend we're traveling with called DCL today and they said Sunday the 13th is 90 days out, and you have to be paid in full to make reservations for anything. Our pay up date isn't actually til the 28th, so I'm gonna go down to AAA early next week and pay the balance so I'm ready. I just wish I knew for sure what nite was what....Does anyone know what nite is formal princess: and what nite is Pirate?? pirate:

Lisa :flower:

Thanks for that info Lisa. I am going to make sure we are paid up this week so we can make our reservations. I checked the main forum and there are several posts that say Pirate Night is Wednesday in Cozumel, Monday is formal night and Thursday is semi-formal night.

Hi everyone. I am a single mother of two little girls, who will turn 11 and 6 just days before we cruise. My older daughter and I have done a three-day on the Magic and a 4-day on the Wonder in 1999 and 2000 respectively. In 2003 the three of us did a 7-day Alaska cruise on the Radiance of the Seas. I know many people love RCCL, and the Alaska scenery was spectacular, but the kids got bored and the child activites were pretty "wimpy," in the words of my then 8 year-old. She, soon to be 11, is worried about what they will feed her on this cruise. On the Radiance they would insist on bringing her children's food in children's portions. She would order something off the adult menu, and they would bring it without the sauce, or the garnish, or the peppers, etc. An adult at our table would order the same thing and get an entirely different plate. Yes, I complained, but nothing really changed, I know this is terrible, but I was left wondering whether my complaints went unheeded because they weren't coming from a man..... When we last cruised Disney, it wasn't an issue because she was only 5 and on the air diet. I told my friends that all her meals consisted of a tablespoonful of the most expensive macaroni and cheese I have ever purchased. Anyway, rant aside, we are so looking forward to it. I booked last January, and it's seemed unreal until just recently. All of sudden, I have this urge to shop for new clothes!

Hi Squeakcat! My kids are 11 and 6 too! (DS11 and DD6). On our DCL cruise this last summer my DS ordered from the adult menu every night and he got exactly the same thing as everyone else. He really liked trying new things. Eating is a big deal for DS as he is a bottomless pit! The servers were great with both of our kids. We can't wait to go again.

Yeah!! I paid the balance on our reservation today. I can't wait to start making reservations. Has anyone thought about what excursions they are going to do?
