Okay. I have a confession. I've been perusing these boards all day and jotting down notes and I'm still in my PJs!!! lol These boards are as addictive as the cruise. I've learned as much stuff today as I thought I already knew!

Jokesten, it's funny that if it snows where you are you'll drive down to Baltimore to catch a flight. Maybe we'll ride the same plane b/c we're leaving out of BWI. Hey, maybe if it snows down here we should just fly up and take a NJ flight with you. (or would that be NY I guess).

Mickeyfanatic - Yikes that the submarine is only glass bottomed. That's the excursion we had planned. See and Sea or something like that. We took the submarine trip in, ah, Cayman I think, and my kids LOVED it!! I just assumed another submarine would be the same type. Thanks for the 411.

Also, whoever recommended going to Target (I think it was on this thread) - THANK YOU!! Yesterday I hit that $1 bin and found all the pirate stuff. Now we're really set!

Magicbound - I think a Cinderella dress is entirely appropriate for formal night. I remember seeing lots of girls wear their dress-ups throughout the entire course of the cruise.

tjeagle - Wow! $4.99 at Limited Too is quite the bargain. I can't believe they still have summer stuff. Especially considering when I was at the mall last week some stores were actually putting out their bathing suits!

Since I said I hadn't had good luck w/ rental car seat sizes in the past, I would like to say that I was just on the Budget website and it looks like you can now request what size seat you want - infant, toddler, youth. That's a great improvement!! Makes things easier for many of us! The price noted was $27 per seat.

Tammy - as I understand it, the tea and other on-board activities are put in the Navigator so you know what's what. Of course, I'm a first-time cruiser so someone correct me if I'm wrong!!! Please!!

Tammy and newbies, here is some info about the wrist bands and some meets! Any ideas for a place for the Wed Birthday meet??
I do have 1 extra bracelet, DD already lost one! It's yours if you want it Cathy!!

Here is the info from Tracey on the bracelets. They are really cute! It is cheaper to get 6 than less than six! (around $20ish with shipping). My kids are already wearing them to school!!

I went on line and searched out silicone wristbands today and found a place that will do them without a minimum order. The web site is www.24hourwristbands.com I ordered ours in green with Disney Magic 2/3/07 on them. They even have Disney font. The price wans't too bad either. I got 6 adult and 1 child band with shipping for 25 dollars. So we will sporting the DIS Green. Hope others will join us.

You can check out www.castawayclub.com to view some recent (Sept) Navigators for the Eastern. It give you ideas of activities etc, although the times may change!

mark - I work from home too, doing contract transcription for the government. What do you do from home? lol, now we're both way behind, aren't we?


Here's the deal with Tea with Wendy. We went in 2005. Back then it was listed in the Navigator but it required that you go to the front desk and get tickets. It sold out VERY quickly, so if you want to go be sure to get tickets the first day. I just read from another DIS poster today, however, that they no longer list Tea with Wendy it in the Navigator and you have to ask specifically about it in order to get the tickets. Supposedly, this is because it's always in such high demand and they get so many complaints from people b/c they can't get tickets that they stopped putting it in the Navigator.

Everything's worth doing once and if you haven't been, by all means you should try it. But don't get your hopes up for something spectacular or magical. My girls were SO excited for the Tea and all four of us were very disappointed with what it turned out to be.

It's held in Studio Sea where Wendy sits up kind of on a stage at a table more or less with a spotlight on her. She's dressed up all like Wendy and has the cute English accent (very believable as Wendy the girl was). Meanwhile, all the guests sit at regular little tables on which there is a pot of real, hot tea and a big chocolate chip cookie for each (the table only sits four and I had one to myself with my three daughters). While you eat your cookie and drink your tea, Wendy tells a little story. Then everybody gets a quick turn to go up to the table and have their picture snapped with her and then it's over. The whole thing lasted 20 minutes, and 15 of those minutes was just everybody taking turns for their photo.

Also, if nobody at your table likes hot tea you're SOL. There's not, like, waitstaff there to serve you or anything.

Our flight has been changed to an earlier flight. We went from flying out at 12:30 to flying out at 6:am!! The airport is 45 minutes away!! We will just pack the car the night before, throw the kids in still asleep and in pj's. Maybe they can get alittle sleep on the way.
But it's almost here! yeah.
Question- should we let our 4y/o sign her own passport?

Print your child's name on the signature line and sign your name above it and list father or mother. Per the passport regulations.

I checked my PassPorter Field Guide when I got home. They list a submarine ride in St. Thomas called the Atlantic Submarine Adventure. It is rated a 5 out of 10 and it lists that the boat is roomy but two people have to share one small porthole window. It lists the water as cloudy and hard to see. Guests must be 36 inches or taller to attend.

The second is a glass bottom boat ride out of Castaway Cay. This has the one large circular bottom panel which everyone must share. It says that everyone has to stand for the ride (with the exception of a few seats). Rated a 2 out of 10.


That's the info I have. I've never been on either so I made my own judgement based on the info above.

My wife warned me of this so-so PassPorter review too and I kind of wondered about its value. But I think that this post and the pictures tell me that the kids will love it and talk about it for years to come. Have a look at the link. The novelty of being in a submarine will be neatest part for them.

As mentioned, this is the only shore excursion we've got booked.
