Feb. Use Year @ BCV

It sounds like for new purchases (not add-ons) at BCV, your only option is a February points use year. Is this the way you see it?

For those of you who have a February use year, how do you like it? I think my preference would be for a March use year. I guess I need to call and find out for sure.

I believe they are selling all use years. For some unknown reason they don't have a Jan use year, so Feb is the next option.

Just a reminder that Use Year only comes into play when you have to cancel a reservation that's at the end of your Use Year close to the time you are leaving (past the banking deadlines). If you know you are going to vacation the same time every year for the foreseeable future (such as your company shuts down for 2 weeks in July every year so you know that's your vacation) then you can try to get a Use Year that matches. If your vacation takes place throughout the year, it's hard to pick the best one.

A February Use Year would allow you to change plans for the year up until July 31 and still be able to bank 100% (10/31 for 50% and 11/30 for 25%). March would give you until August 31 for 100% (11/30 for 50% and 12/31 for 25%).

Maybe I'd get along OK with any use year, but March seems to make things simple.

With March, you have until the end of summer (Aug 31st) to bank 100% of your points. You have until the end of the year (Dec 31st) to bank up to 25%. It just seems to help this newbie understand the system.

We have one child who is curently in grade school, so that will mean mostly summer vacations for awhile. After that, the good Lord willing, it will matter far less, as my job leaves me great flexability in taking vacations.

When I fist bought at WLV they said I would get a Feb use year. I told them I would perfer a Dec use year since Dec is when I like to go. He said no problem and that what I got...

I don't think you would have any problem getting a March use year if that is what you'd like, at most you could wait a month until you purchased.
