Hey all....... Planning to go in Feb. around President's Day. I realize this time can be busy, but we'll stay onsite to get FOTL acess (for a couple of days--short trip!). Here's my dilemma: DS has off school Friday (before Pres. Day) Feb. 16 and Mon. Feb. 19 (President's Day). We'd like to add 2 days at Epcot only because I think this time of year will be LESS crowded there than in late June/early July (right?) So, what days are best for this trip around that Friday-Monday? ......Epcot the Wed. & Thurs. before that Friday?...or how about the Tues. & Wed. after President's Day Monday?? ...or split the days and take Thurs. and Tues.???? Maybe I shoulda made this a poll :scratchin ...sorry to be confusing, but if anyone has any ideas how to maximize that Fri. & Mon. for President's Day with a couple of days around it to minimize standing in lines at Epcot (and work in a day or two at UO), that'd be great! :thanks:

I am not sure about the crowds at Epcot, but I would try to design the trip so that you end with Universal and FOTL.

I have heard that the week following Presidents Day can be really busy. We are visiting the week before, staying 5 nights at Boardwalk and then planning 2 nights at HRH or RPR on the Friday and Saturday. Maybe we'll see you there :wave2:

In the northeast we have winter break from Feb 17-25 and lots of people head to florida that week. You may want to check and see if any other areas are off that week too and plan prior to presidents weekend if you can. The wed and thur before should be much better crowd wise.

Ya know...I'm thinking before President's Day will be less crowded....apparently the value season at WDW Resorts ends 2/14...2/15 starts Peak season....so, might be cheaper to stay & visit Epcot before Pres. Day and finish up at UO and come home Mon. (Pres. Day) or Tuesday.....still workin' on it...but thanks y'all... :thumbsup2

I went this past year the last week of February, and it was really crowded. I heard this could vary year to year depending on the dates of Bike Week and Mardi Gras are.

Evidently, locals from New Orleans head to WDW/Orlando during Mardi Gras. As far as Bike Week, there are actually three weeks to Bike Week, not just one. You'd think, well, that's in Daytona, not Orlando. Not so. Bikers from all over the country pack up their families and head to Central Florida. My neighbor did it. He did the biker stuff during the days in Daytona while his wife and kids hit the parks.

If I ever go to Orlando again during February, I'll always check when those things are going on and avoid those times due to the heavy crowds.

Good point....think i'll call DBIL & find out when Bike Week is there....I was there for Bike Week ONCE....never again..... :scared:

Bubba's, just to clarify, this past February during Bike Week/Mardi Gras, on the weekdays, USO/IOA had pretty light crowds -- I can't attest to O'Brien's, tho, on the big festivity days (we stayed away). It was fairly busy over the weekends, tho.

All the parks at WDW were crazy busy, tho, no matter what day.

We drove over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Jiko one night and parked in their regular parking lot for hotel guests. I'd estimate that 3/4 of all the cars in the lot had LA plates.

Definitely find out when Mardi Gras is and Bike Week(s). Although, seeing a packed Magic Kingdom full of tough biker dudes/chicks decked out in leather, showing off their tattoos wearing Mickey ears is pretty fun :)

Thanks Pluto....I'm sure Bike Week is February or early March...isn't Mardi Gras around St. Pat's Day in March?? I think I'm leaning toward Feb. 13-14ish for Epcot (before Pres. Day)....seems a lot of "value" seasons end then and then the "Peak" starts...guessing cuz of Pres. Day, Mardi Gras, Bike Week, Easter, etc...starting up....BUT, thanks and I'll be keeping it in mind :thumbsup2

Update: decided to stay at ASMo Feb. 14 & 15, trek over to Universal Feb. 16 & 17 (and get our AP's :yay: ), then to Ocala to DFIL's after park on Feb. 17th...and fly home Feb. 19th....President's Day! :woohoo: How's THAT sound????

Sounds great, Bubba's :thumbsup2

The weather in February will be glorious! Warm days, cool nights. Best of both worlds.

Hope you have a wonderful trip :)

Thanks....can't wait! :hyper: (reserved a rental car last nite was gettin' so excited!) :yay:
