This is my first trip report, so here goes....
The cast
DH - 35 self employed Disney Fan, often gets annoyed with me because he thinks I should book our trips for longer time periods... loves everything about WDW
DS - 3 year old Disney Fan !!! (did not have much of a chance to not be!) This is his 4th trip .. his first trip was at 10 months ... he loves everything Disney, he has told everyone he is going on the Haunted Mansion.
ME - 32 year old Human Resources Manager, the planner, I get completely obessed with Disney planning
So it all started right before Christmas when we decided to take a short trip that was not planned. We had kind of a crazy fall and needed something to look forward to. After much shopping around I was able to find a very good deal on a Disney Trip (thanks AAA). So we said LETS GO !!! We booked 2/8-2/13.
We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside, we stayed at French Quarter in May 2007 and it was great, just wanted something a little different. We have stayed at both of these hotels before and enjoyed them. We have stayed at AKL and Wilderness Lodge a couple of times before. We love AKL but I was trying to save a little $$$ and that hotel can be a little far away from the parks. We were not that impressed with WL, and the other deluxes are getting crazy in pricing so a moderate it will be !!!
I got great flights leaving at 1030Am from Providence RI which puts us in Disney at 3ish and leaving Disney at 645PM which gives us until 4 PM on our last day to play !!
We flew Southwest this trip, we normally fly out of Boston on JetBlue. I was a little worried with thel ack of TVs on Southwest, becuase the TV is a great way to make the time go by with a 3 year old on a plane !!!
So we woke up on 2/8 and we were ready to go !!! Our countdown was done and the time was here !!!
The flight was uneventful and when we got to MCO we had Tiffany Town car pick us up. I feel this is the best $100 spent. we do not have to board a bus and drop off others at their hotels, nor do we have to wait for our luggage, we just jump in our towne car and presto we are at the hotel !!!
We arrived at the hotel and check in.... no Disney magic at check in, I could hardly understand the women checking us in, but hey we were here so who cares. DS parked himself at the TV in the hotel with the little chairs and loved the cartoons. Our room was ready so off we went... we were a little far away in Bayou 26, we stayed in the mansions last time, so it was great to have a little change. We got in our room, quickly unpacked and decided to hit the parks. Now, DS did not take a nao, which he normally does so I was a little worried, but i was too excited to not do anything that day. We headed off to the bus stop and had decided to go to Epcot. I have this thing about not going to MK until the first full day of the vaca. At the bus stop we waited and waited two MK buses went by but no Epcot. DH said next bus that comes by we are taking sooo.... it was another MK bus. We went to MK the first day .... against every bone in my body but we did it.
MK was crazy crowded that afternoon and we both looked at each other and knew there was not way we were getting on any rides that afternoon. We also realized that it was the Cheerleading Nationals in WDW that week
but I felt more like
