Our trip got changed, again! Now we will be at WDW Feb.26 - March 1. This gives us a weekend. Which parks are best on Sat. and Sunday. We are willing to do EMH and are willing to hop to another park.

I would really appreciate your advice!
Thanks!

I'm not a February "expert" (yet!), but I'll be there the same weekend you will!

Personally, based on weekend touring at various times of the year, I would do Epcot on Saturday and AK on a Sunday. I would avoid the MK as much as possible on a weekend, since Saturdays are nuts there year-round, and Sunday is its EMH day.

And since you're willing park hoppers, I'd try these two and then hop if they seem unusually crowded. The MK and Studios probably won't be better crowd-wise, but it's always best to keep options open.

One thing you might consider is touring the MK very late on Saturday during the showings of Spectromagic and Wishes. If you don't mind missing the parade/fireworks, you can probably get some decent ride time in while everyone else crowds Main Street. Just a thought.

As an aside, Universal is having Mardi Gras weekends at that time, and KC and the Sunshine Band will be playing Saturday evening at USF. Just in case you're a fan...

Happy travels!

Uh oh... I was planning to go to Universal that weekend. Do you need some special tickets or something because of the band/mardi gras? Will the parks have funky hours? Any idea?

They are open until 8:00 on Saturday, and no it's not a hard ticket event. It's also only at USF, not IOA.

I believe the actual Mardi Gras event stuff kicks off around 4, with a parade at closing time (again, 8:00).

I'd actually considered going there the week before, since I'll be in town, as they're hosting Cyndi Lauper on the 21st. (nothing against KC & the Gang, but I'd prefer to see Cyndi).

It's worth noting that they do sell Mardi-Gras-only tickets for those that only want to come for the evening festivities, so the attendance may increase at night.

I don't like crowds all that much, but I'm still planning to go on the 28th.

We were there that exact weekend last year; we toured Epcot on Saturday (all day although we took a break in the middle of the day for naps) and Animal Kingdom on Sunday. We went to DtD in the evening.

Depending upon what is important for you to see, I would perhaps do Epcot for the bulk of the day on Saturday, and maybe head over to the MK on Saturday night to see Spectro and the Wishes fireworks show. If you tour the MK on a different day, and know you have another opportunity to do the rides (or you've already done them on an earlier day) you won't feel like you're missing out on anything if you just go for the parade.

Although this wasn't February, it was last October, this (previous paragraph) was exactly what my Mom and I did. And it was CROWDED, but it worked out well. We did a lot of Epcot in the AM (not crowded AT ALL and it was Mission Space opening week) and then headed to the MK around 6. We got dinner at Pecos Bills and staked out a spot on the curb right outside Pecos Bills. Watched the parade, let the crowd disperse, and wandered over to Liberty Square and watched the fireworks from there- maybe not the same effect as watching in front of the castle but there were NO crowds to fight with there. We went on Haunted Mansion and Snow White and then left. :D It worked well. Animal Kingdom I have gone to both times on a Sunday- the lines are large to get in the park if you get there right at opening, but the crowds were quite managable once in the park.

have a great time!

Thanks. I could take or leave KC but Cyndi would have been cool. Maybe the attendance will be more for the parade and Mardi Gras and the lines will be shorter :teeth:

Or we'll just head over to IOA.

Hi. We are there at the same time too. The one thing I'd keep in mind id Saturday is the anly day during that time fram Wishes and Spectromagic are on the same night. We are going to do Epoct then head over to MK for Parade/Fireworks only

Our game plan is to go to AK on Sat morning, then head to MK after the AK parade. We have PSs for Crystal Palace for dinner, then want to see Spectro and Wishes.

As for Sunday, we have a cheering competition, so depending on how the girls do, depends on if we get to a park or not.

See you all there!

I found AK to be totally dead on Saturdays or Sundays.

I'd say maybe Epcot Sunday

I would do AK on Sat morning into late afternoon and then work over to the MK for Wishes and Spectro and do not go to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland

On Sunday, take advantage of EE and go to MK for Fantasyland and Tomorrowland and then leave and then go to Epcot for the balance of the day

thanks
