My wife and I are going to DW in February. This will be our first trip to Florida, usually we go to DL, but we have decided to change things up. So far we are thinking to stay for a week at the Pop Century. Staying at the value resort is allowing us to stay longer. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions please let me know.

I too am going for the first time in February with my husband, daughter and my sister. We are so excited to be going! Agree with you--any pointers helpful hints, etc. would be greatly appreciated! :thumbsup2

Pack warm clothes. Expect lots of girls as it will be Twil Mania time and the value resorts become over run with teenage girls. I can not stress enough to pack warm clothes it will be cold. I have gone several time in Feb and also pack my jacket too. Oh the week of Presidents Day is also the winter break for the schools systems in Northeastern states so do be surprised if you see a lot of kids. It is also the same week of Daytona 500 and a lot of people will stay at Disney because the hotels in Daytona are either sold out or too expensive.

We are going Feb 8-12... I'm getting out of there before Presidents Weekend gets too Crazy!

Just in case no one else as told you....Disney WORLD is a lot different than DisneyLAND. Get a guide book, so you will understand the transportation system and the four different parks. Keep an open mind and try not to make too many comparisons to what you are used to.

I was there Feb. 1-4 2009. We come from Chicago so we are familiar with cold especially in Feb. We all wore fleece zip up jackets despite bringing our winter coats. I always have cold hands so I brought my winter gloves and little stretchy gloves, but need neither. One day we wore short sleeve T's during the day, but most days we wore long sleeves T's and sometime a short sleeve over it. Though I packed shorts I only wore jeans. It rained REALLY hard one day so we were grateful to have brought a change of socks to the parks along with our ponchos. My BFF wished she had brought a change of pants, but I was fine.

We were last at Disneyworld in early Feb. 2008, and the weather was just great! Be prepared for cold or warm.

The crowd conditions were fantastic. We walked onto most rides, or had very short waits.

By week of I assume you mean the 15th through that Friday? We are planning to go the 7th - 12th and get out of there. I'm hoping it won't be too crazy those days. My son's break is the 12th and 15th so I figure a lot of people may be arriving on Friday. We will be in the parks that day but will then leave.

We MAY stay if they offer the buy 4 get 3 free deal but we likely wouldn't go to the parks over the weekend or if we did we would stay away from MK and expect not to do much! There is so much to see at the resorts though if you just travel around to them and walk around and such.

OH NO - The school system we're in was closed for 2 days due to flooding. Guess what our makeup day is - Feb 12! Hmmm...

Pop isn't bad, are you driving or flying? If you are driving you are right next to Osceola Parkway(it's a toll road) but it can take you to the 192 Kissimee area quickly for just about anything you need.

I don't know what climate you are in but the coldest months in Central Florida are usually Dec/Jan/Feb January usually being the coldest month. We don't really have a cold season, just cold weeks, that could happen anywhere in those months. We just had a record cold for today, which to northerners may seem not so cold. lol.

My suggestion is to pack both warm and cold weather clothes. you can do this without over packing by taking one sweatshirt or hoodie to go over something as some days in feb are warm but when the sun goes down it gets chilly. Also if you plan on buying clothing merch for yourself pack a little less.

You should check out the DVC Points for rent board. If you are staying Sun - Thursday nights you can rent points and stay in a studio suite in a deluxe resort for the same price (or less) than you can do a value resort. Friday and Saturday nights however will kill you on price!

we are going Feb 9-16th. We are going to be there until the day after Pres. day. How crazy is it? We are usually there in June when it is HOT and CROWDED. Does it compare? Should we bring swimming suits or is that out of the question?

BTW we are staying at POP too!

Brrrr swimming will be cold. President day weekend will be crazy and some what crowded.
