Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

We're getting excited too. :goodvibes

And so what if we don't get to many DIS members.
I mean - I wish they're were more but hey -
More Conch coolers for us!

I know. On my other cruise, by this time, it seems there were THOUSANDS of posts. But, Like you said, more Conch Coolers for us :woohoo: and the Palo reservations, you know. Wow, this will be a very nice, personal, cruise

What really happened is they heard my husband and I would be there. See, PlutoJudy was on the last one we were on and she canceled to go to Hawaii instead. I think it was because she saw the Bass' name on the list:eek:

Hubby and I are booked on this cruise. I was surprised to see that Grand Cayman and Cozumel are flipped on this cruise compared to the normal itinerary. I don't know if that changes when Pirate night and other theme nights happen. This is making me crazy trying to plan for Palo. Hubby says I need to relax, lol.

Count us in!

I got a last minute opportunity to teach a class this fall and my first thought was - now I can take another cruise! :lmao:

Gayle (me) - Muncie, IN
Kara (BFF) - Indianapolis, IN
Both "mid-30s" - yikes! :scared1:

Stateroom: #6594
Seating: Second

This will be my 4th DCL and Kara's 3rd. We took this same cruise in Jan. 2008. It's not that we love this cruise, it's just the date we could go! Basically I don't care where the ship goes! It could just turn in circles for all I care! :dance3:

We'll be flying in Friday and staying at AKL Villa (Savannah view). This was Kara's pick, as I HATE AKL. (That's ok because BFF has a conference in March that I get to tag along on and it's at the Yacht Club - next to my fave - Beach Club! :cool1:)

Looks forward to getting to meet you all.

:worship:THANK GOD!!!!
More people.

Welcome Gayle. :flower3:
Stay away from Jamie - he bites. ;)

So even though our ports are on a different schedule, the themes for each dining night should remain the same, right? :confused3

That's what I was thinking.
But I don't know for sure.

Have a reservation hold for this sailing, but now that I see all the crazy people that are going to be on board, I'm not so sure...

Sounds like you are all going to have a great time.

If we are able to join you, we will in fact be bringing some CHILDREN, three of them in fact. I think the reason why there aren't as many kids on this sailing is that the following week is President's Day and February Break for some areas of the country, so schools have the week or a partial week off. That sailing is filling up quickly and is quite a bit more money. I am perfectly willing to pull the kids out of school for a week to save $1800... :rolleyes1

I'm glad that someone else is bringing children. I have two daughters (7&4). My husband and I have never been on a cruise and we are very excited. We are trying to wait until Christmas to tell the girls.:flower1::tink::wave:

Okay, where did everybody go? I'm not that scary and the rest of my family is only a little scary. I'm really excited that we are almost at double digits.

Ok - I'll post our update. This week insurance was purchased & the balance of the cruise was paid, so we'll be ready when the excursion/dining window opens in a couple of weeks. CHEAP airfare was purchased over Labor Day. :thumbsup2Just waiting on the DVC reservation to arrive for night prior, as we're "renting points" for Kadani Village (BFF's choice). :rolleyes1

Looked through the excursions & nothing looks incredibly exciting. Frankly I'm fine if the ships just turns in circles all week.

Waiting for next week to proclaim we're only 3 months/90 days away, but honestly it feels like forever from now. :sad2:

Looking forward to news about the new ship TOMORROW! Hoping for the best, but betting I'll be underwhelmed.

Next step: Lay out the spreadsheet of which day has which port & dining theme!
Gayle

Got Southwest airfare September 1 and paid for trip insurance then. Got my Disney Rewards card last week and gave the travel agent the number so I can apply it to what I owe. Too bad it isn't enough, lol. Waiting on 90 day window so I can make Palo brunch and dinner reservations. Made my ports/themes chart last weekend to help with Palo planning. Still trying to decide whether to stay near Disney or the Port on Friday night. I even entertained the idea of staying at Vero Beach Friday, but can't really convince myself. Anyone done this? If we stay in Cape Canaveral we will definitely be at the Residence Inn; hubby has Marriott points to cover it. I agree the excursions don't thrill me. Was thinking of doing the cooking class in Cozumel, butterflies/aquarium in Key West and island tour in Grand Cayman. Of course I change my mind every day. Hubby would probably like the pirate cruise in GC, but we don't have kids and I think we might be out of place. Any personal advice about excursions is welcome! Oh, and last night I ordered the Bon Voyage gift of the leather passport holder.

Hi All!!

It is nice to see some more people are coming, although we were getting a little excited about easy Palo reservations, lol!

We also got Southwest on September 1 for a GREAT deal roundtrip from Portland.

On Friday night we are staying at the Best Western Cocoa Beach, as I stay at them often and like them. Got a good internet only deal way back when.

After the cruise, we go to some Best Western by WDW (I am a little more nervous about that one, but it is only one night) and then on Sunday, February 14, our 10 year anniversay, we get to stay at Beach Club Villa's thanks to my DM and DD, as they have the DVC, so booked us the room until Friday (THANKS SO MUCH DD and DM!!). We leave there on Friday and stay at the Best Western by the airport and fly home on Saturday the 20th.

I just need to reserve the rental car still to the port, then one back from the port and we will be pretty set, I think anyway.

I could not believe how fast we received our passport ID's. We turned them in on 10/2 and got them back two weeks ago (not a bad picture either, lol!).

Looking forward to meeting you on the ship!!
