Seriously, where is everyone? I wonder if this ship will be less booked because it is super bowl sunday. My DH is looking forward to being on the ship for Super Bowl Sunday. In the past, they've shown the game on the big screen and thrown a tail gating style party.

I can't wait to get FE started. Does anyone else here have prior experience and want to take charge? I am new to cruising, let alone FE, so I have very little knowledge of what to do.

YAY!!! Happy Birthday DS!!! That what day is his Bday?? Our friends that we are sailing with, their son will be turning 7 on the cruise too!! On Feb 7th!!! I hope they get along and can have some ice cream together for their birthdays!!!!

I know, this has got to be the quietest cruise board ever!! WAKE UP EVERYONE, WE'RE going on a DISNEY CRUISE!!! LOL... I can be in charge of FE and a meet... But, I warn you...I'm a Retail Manager, so in December, I'll be a little off my rocker.


Oh seriously, Super bowl Sunday...HAHAHA...funny, didn't even realize. On a good note, I was reading a trip report of someone who went on that cruise last year, and they didn't have to do the emergency drill till the next day since they didn't want to interrupt the game!!! HAAHAHAHHAHA I'd love for it to be on day 2 for once!!

So how about this, if you would like to participate in FE gift exchange, PM me everyone in your stateroom, ages, and names (if you want, sometimes, people like to personalize) and your stateroom number if you have it already. And I'll put together a list, and we will keep a sheet of everyone.

For those who have never done it, there is a great thread about FE gifts. There is no right or wrong gifts, it can be a stateroom gift or individual gifts for each person in the party. For example, while I have 25 nieces and nephews, I don't have any of my own, so I have no clue what to get a 5 year old girl or a 13 yr old boy. So I opt to do a stateroom gift. Something that everyone can enjoy. I've only cruised on the shorter saillings and usually just do one gift. But we can also decide if we want to do more, or whatever. It's up to you all. Just let me know your feedback. But I do have to say, it is SUPER fun, to come back to your stateroom and have some sort of little goodie in the your FE!!!!

I am super excited to be going on our family's 1st Disney Cruise!! 1st cruise of any kind for that matter! Myself and DH along with DS (10) and DS (6). We had hoped to be onboard for DS's 7th birthday as the last family holiday we took was when oldest DS turned 7 at DL but this week worked best and I get to have MY birthday onboard instead!

Can you believe, just 89 short days until we set sail, seems like a ways, but I know it's going to be here before we know it!!!!

I can NOT wait!!!! Although, I am slightly sad that it will only let me reserve Palo for one dinner. Sad... I was hoping to eat there twice, we'll hope for some availability on board... For those of you who haven't eaten at Palo, I HIGHLY recommend it!!! It is amazing, make sure you go at a time when your little one can still be in the kids area, as it is adults only. But I'm telling you, sooooo good!!!!! If you are a Castaway Club member, you can start booking now for Palo, or in 2 weeks if you are new to Disney!!! But make sure you reserve it quick as they go fast!!!

We just booked this cruise today! Somewhat on a whim, based on a great price and falling tempatures here in Ottawa .

Looking forward to getting to hear about your plans for your time aboard and excursions!

We are myself (37) dh Stephan (46), ds Liam (13) and ds Colin(10). We've been on several cruises before but this is our first with Disney.

Has anyone else booked a pre-cruise hotel yet? Any suggestions?

Also, our flight out on the last day is at 11:00 PM, would it be crazy to spend the day at a theme park?

Hi Danielle, yeah we would like some info about pre-cruise hotels as well. Have not been to LA but have heard the roads are crazy busy and dont want to get stuck in traffic en-route to the cruise and be late so I would love some info on this.

Also, does anyone know if there is a character breakfast on board as would love to get booked in on ds's birthday?

We are likely staying in Long Beach. Close to the port and more to do than in San Pedro. We have a full day to fill before the cruise as we arrive Friday night.

@Nikkim There should be a character breakfast. It looks that way from the Trip Reports I have been reading.

@DaniellefromOttawa @Cartersmum @Nikkim I would definitely recommend Long Beach over San Pedro. Far more to do and eat in Long Beach (Queen Mary, The Pike, LB Aquarium) You could also stay at the DLR (less convenient, but you'd be able to check out the area a bit).

@DaniellefromOttawa I totally recommend going to Disneyland! We live less than 10 minutes away. Your commute from San Pedro should be about 30 minutes. It really isn't a beast. You can do it. From DLR to LAX is 35-45 minutes on a Sunday night. I say sleep on the plane! Would you like to join our FE group?

I'm going to spend today "researching" hotels, dining reservations, transportation, it's a me day!

Here in Canada it's "Rememberance Day" sort of like Vetrans Day, the unique thing in Ontario is that the kids go to school but all governement and bank employees have the day off! 5 hours all to myself (with a short break to attend a Rememberance Ceremony)

You DEF have time to do Disneyland on the day we get back. You are usually off the ship by 9 am, and you could be to DL in a half hour on a Sunday from there! Go for it!!!!!

Also I'm with PrincessSophiesMom, stay in Long Beach, it's super close. Really it's the same city, or you could stay at DLR too, it really isn't a bad drive.

Hey Nikki- I wouldn't stress too much about traffic, while traffic always sucks there, and is fairly unpredictable, it is a weekend, so you should be semi okay. Much better than any weekday. It depends really on what you want to do down there before, if you want Disneyland, stay in Anaheim. If you want some amazing shopping, you should stay in Costa Mesa where the mall South Coast Plaza is... It's pretty amazing!!! According to my research as well, there is a character bfast. You wont find out when it is for you though until you board. Then you can go to the lounge and change your dining if it is available. (We've never had a problem doing this.) Just tell them it is her bday and I'm sure they can work something out!

So who all is decorating their door?? I am, I am!!!! I even bought a laminator at Costco for $20 so I don't have to keep going to kinko's to laminate my stuff! And does everyone have their FE?? I have a friend who we met on our last Disney Cruise who does them through Etsy and a ton of other cute Disney stuff. If anyone needs a FE or anything else disney, let me know and I'll message you her etsy site. She does this full time now, and is AMAZING!
