Feb.4,2006. Who else is sailing?

If I had to choose, I would go with th cabana massage. There's really nothing like it. They offer it for singles or couples, but you should jump on it ASAP (I think you can book them online now). They go fast!

Thanks for the recommendation, Dee. I'll jump on it. I think that we can book shore excursions and the like at the 90-day period, so I've already penciled in the date on which I can go online and book them!

Thanks again,
Mark

P.S> - 142 days from today we're on board the Magic!!

142 days from today we're on board the Magic!!

And my usual question about this time: Is it too early to pack??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

90 days is right unless you're in Cat 1-3 or 1st time cruiser.

Is anyone else alive on this thread???? :confused3

Dee,

In my mind, it's never to early to begin planning or packing for a Disney Cruise!!! Rather than hauling the suitcases out yet, I've gone nuts with the planning: I've already reserved a room at the Radisson, gotten a rental car for the trip from the airport to Port Canaveral, bought travel insurance and have out excursions all lined up on a piece of paper. I expect to be online at 12:01 on November 6th (the 90-day mark) reserving tons of cool shore excursions.

Have you thought about which night you'll choose for Palo's? I originally thought that we would do it on Sunday night, but that's the Super Bowl (which usually begins around six). Our can't miss dining spot is Parrot Cay, so we won't eat at Palo's on the third night either.

Are you a planning freak like me?!? I can't wait!!!

Mark

I got a "Welcome Aboard" cruise package from DCL last weekend. It contains a nice brochure about shore excursions and other things and a letter encouraging us to plan ahead and reserve online.

Has anyone else gotten this yet? It's pretty cool.

Mark

PS - 141 days and counting!

Welcome aboard package--- :goodvibes now I'll be watching for the mail everyday :Pinkbounc -- hope we get one too!
We just love disney mail!!! :earboy2:

Hey everyone. We haven't gotten the Welcome Aboard package yet. Something to look forward to. We got Zack's passport in the mail today. Took about a month. Only one more to get. We already had ours from the last time but have to get the kids since the new policy takes effect. My favorite part of the cruise was just about everything, except the lifeboat drill, also. My daughter got taken onstage the first night to perform magic on the Magic with Freddy Fusion, and it just kept getting better. Also having brunch with my wife in Palo and seeing a whale in the distance. Can't wait until February.
Steve

Yeah, I'm a planning freak!

Got the Welcome Aboard package! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

We got the plane tix. I'm about to book POFQ for 2 nights pre-cruise. We're using DVC pts for 5 days after the cruise and that's booked to. I'm nagging Kat (my friend and traveling companion on this cruise) to hurry up and decide on shore excursions. Like Mark, I plan on being online at the stroke of midnight Nov 6 and reserve everything I can.

Mark, did you ask for a specific dining rotation? Otherwise I can't imagine how you know PC will be on your 3rd night...

We're no football fans, but on the other hand I refuse to miss the Baked Alaska on the final night, so I won't be having Palo dinner on Fri. night!

Is anyone interested in doing a Palo brunch as a group? They'll give you the private room (up to 14 people). We had a DIS brunch on the 10-day, it was GREAT!

I AM so ready for this cruise!!!!!!!!!

Hey Steve,

It's great to see you back on the board. We need to get moving on getting my daughter a passport too -- thanks for the reminder.

Hey Dee,

I called Disney and asked about the dining room assignment, and while they couldn't confirm our exact rotation, with two young children, they said that it was likely that we would have Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay and Lumiere's, in that order. Last year we had Pirate Night in Parrot Cay and it was a blast, so I don't want to miss that. We'll probably try to do Monday night at Palo's so it doen't interfere with the Super Bowl. It will be so cool to watch it on board the ship.

Sorry if I am acronym-challenged, but what is POFQ?

140 days from today, not that I'm counting or anything.

Just got the 'Welcome Aboard' package today-- just love disney mail. :earsboy:
We have 5 nights booked at VWL for after the cruise and now we must decide if we will fly or drive. Also must decide if we will get passports this time since the deadline was extended until Dec 2006 and then we'll be ready to cruise!

Boy, it is soooo fun to get Disney mail. We have never done Palo before and I have decided that since this is our 30th anniversary trip we will do it this time. I am with everyone else on the whole "Drill" thing. Hate it! I do love going to the spa and the Rainforest Room.

As far as the passport idea, we are also going to wait until the next cruise since the date has been extended. However, for the great time afterwards. what's a few hot and annoying minutes with a big orange thing on?

By the way, having never been on the Magic, what is the character breakfast on the ship like? Who are the characters, is it a buffet?

And, oh, it is getting darker earlier outside. Can February be far away?
:cool1:

heh, ufcabear, we're such night owls we always miss the character breakfast! Sorry I can't help you there!

Mark -- POFQ = Port Orleans French Quarter.

You'll love Character Breakfast! All the characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy,Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, come visit each table and take pictures with each kid. It's a sit down breakfast with your server - lots and lots of fun! :earboy2:

Hey everyone,

I'm obsessed with counting down the days until our cruise and just had to share with everyone a little detail that makes it seem as if the time in flying by.

When we booked our rooms, there were 278 days until the cruise. Yesterday was 139 days -- and was the HALFWAY POINT IN COUNTING DOWN!!! We're pertty excited that our waiting is more than half over now. It's one of those little statistics that makes it seem as if the time is flying by.

I'm sure that with other milestones coming up (like the 90-day period) it will seem as if the time is flying by. 138 days and counting.

Hi, Everyone

I posted several months ago before things were getting so warmed up on this thread, so I decided to reintroduce ourselves. I'm Denise and my husband John and I are so excited to be taking our fifth Disney cruise, (3 on Wonder so far, one on Magic Western). We're going this time without kids (10 & 13) but will be booking our next cruise to include them.

We live in Chicago though I am originally from NY and my husband is British (long, Disney story there). We met while we were both attending a business course at the old Disney Institute. Talk about pixie dust flying.

Anyhow, we've found these boards a most wonderful way to meet people who are as anxious as we are to start enjoying the Magic early and get some extra pleasure out of the delicious anticipation. On our last Magic cruise we knew a whole bunch of people before the sailing because of this list and ended up with invites to some wild (too wild, actually) parties at the Roy and Walt suites (have to say we still like our Cat 6 verandah cabin the best!)

We just returned from a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and while frowning at all the bills in the piled up mail, found the Disney Cruise guide for our upcoming voyage a happy way to chase away the back-to-work blues.

We are very happy to meet you all!

Hi Skylynx,

What a wonderful posting. I agree wholeheartedly that these boards are a wonderful way to start enjoying the cruise before we ever leave. We have never sailed on the Wonder before, but did a Western Caribbean tour last February on the Magic -- and got hooked in the process. There is nothing like a Disney Cruise - nothing.

My DW, and children (five and almost 3 at the time of sailing) and my uncle will all be sailing together, same as last time. Sounds like, without children, you guys are going to have quite the relaxing vacation.

What is the Disney Institute? Again, wellcome!!

Hi PrincessPam,

Great to see you on our little corner of the DIS Boards. As for transportation, Dreams Unlimited consistently recommends a local, Florida firm called "FL Tours." Their Web site is: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-transportation.htm#towncars. I've never used them, but DU is one of the most experienced travel agencies for Disney Cruises.

We flew in the day before on our last cruise last February, but have decided to fly in on Thursday afternoon to take advantage of what we hope will be good Florida weather.

We are SO excited. 130 days (and counting) from today!!
