FEB 3, 2008 ABROAD DISNEY WONDER--Who else??

What a lazy day today unpacking and recovering from our trip. The kids wanted to go outside and it's -20°F with the windchill. I didn't want to be outside.

Hope everyone is back safe and sound. Who else has re-booked?

Welcome home cruise buddies! I just got home late last night:thumbsup2 My sister is hooked on DCL and can't wait to go back with her family. I booked a dummy date for when the new ships come out.

We had a grand time at WDW the few days after the cruise! we checked into the Beach Club and found out that we got a complimentary upgrade to Concierge service...:cool1: :cool1: wow, that was awesome and now my sis is spoiled and thinks all the Disney hotels have this service:rotfl:

Thanks to everyone for making this the best cruise ever:lovestruc

Hi guys!!! I miss you all so much! I miss DCL so much! I miss the spa so much!!! LOL

I can not wait to do it again. Bret and I are going to go again in July, this time without Carsyn! LOL

I had a great time, wish I could have spent more time with those who had the second seating for dinner. Next time we will plan better.

Hurray, that will be fun! I had a great cruise with just us adults...was very relaxing!! I miss the cruise too:love:

Hellllloooooo all!
We are back....after 12 days of Disney fun, we are back. And when we stepped off the plan it was 0 degrees- seriously- 0 degrees. We are hurting now from the 80 degrees temp change- man, were we spoiled being on vacation and having such great weather the whole time!

Well, we are planning too! Unfortunatley, the June dates we wanted are totally sold out for a room for 4- they have a room for three available....so who to leave behind....DH maybe? :stir: No seriously though, we are totally bummed because between my dance productions this summer and two immediate family weddings we are limited to a two week period and they have nothing for the 4-day sailings!!! We were so excited to go again so soon too. They have 3-days, but I had a hard time leaving after four so I'm not going to reduce it more! ;) And of course, this summer they are back to California for the 7-days and those are just too much for us- it's amazing how much more those are than the regular Caribbean 7 days! So as for right now, we won't cruise til next August (2009) for our 10 year anniversary (the Tortula 7 day).

Congrats to PrincessEmilysmommy! That's great news! I wish you the best of health and happiness during these next 8 months!!!

Also, thanks for all of the fun stuff and magnets! My kids lovedit and so did I! Even DH made sure to point out our new magnets each night! My parents were a little skeptical when I first told them about it and on our last day, my dad said he wanted to get involved next time! :thumbsup2 They thought it was pretty fun too. So thanks for making our trip that much more special everyone!

Glad you made it home safe! Sorry they did not have your cabin...keep checking though, maybe someone will cancel. Do they have a wait list???:lmao:

I am having withdrawls bad!!! I just got over my vertigo yesterday and I am already wanting to go back. You should have seen me Saturday trying to present....I was holding on to the table the whole time because I was so dizzy.:goodvibes

I forgot to mention that I have the distinction of being the very last guest off of Castaway Cay. They took down the banner and rolled up the gangway behind me.

Not that I was a straggler, but one of my daughters accidentally kicked one of her shoes UNDER the gangway and I had to crawl under to get it out.

Oh, and this was my view of the shuttle launch.

Do they have a wait list???:lmao:

Didn't ask, but I'm going to call again today and see! I was trying to set it up through DVC and not directly through DCL so she had to keep putting them on hold to call them and then coming back on and telling me so I wasn't one hundred percent confident on my info anyway. I think that this time, I'll tell them to book me the room for 3 and then one of us can just sleep on a pool chair! :lmao: Seriously though, with my 3 year old, she either slept with us or my DD6 anyway, so who needs a 4th bed? :confused3 :rotfl:

GMark- last one off CC? :worship: Impressive! Did you have to help give the ship a push off the port before you stepped on like the captains of the WDW boats do? :rotfl2:

Hey Steph, I actually saw you guys at the BC this weekend. We were on the Yacht club side of the pool and you guys were heading over to Hurricane Hanna's. I was watching my DH wait for our order to be put on the tray for 35 MINUTES so I kept looking over there (as my kids whined about how hungry they were). I hope you had a great time! That's soooo cool about begin upgraded! Actually the lady next to me was telling me that it had just happened to them that morning, so they must be doing it pretty frequently!?!

Tara, I hope your vertigo wasn't too bad. That's rough. Did you have alot of problems on the ship or was it managable?

They took forever to hand out those food orders;) That was our last lunch before packing up and heading out to the Magical Express bus. I really enjoyed the concierge lounge, free wine, beer, food...Wow, was impressive but I would never pay the cost but will take the free upgrade:laughing: ;) .

I am glad everyone had a great time on the ship...my sis is already looking into another Feb. cruise (she didn't rebook on board:sad2: but I did for 2011 time).

I gotta get my plans ready for Hawaii this spring break for hubbies convention:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,
Glad to see you all still here and I'm really sorry we did not get a chance to meet everyone. Have to admit, we were really a bit overwhelmed at the start of the cruise. Think the 5 of us were all just exhausted and took a while for us to get un-wound. Did enjoy it and I do have lots of comments and questions to ask of you guys, but since REALITY BITES, I can't play now. DS10 started with a fever Fri. while in WDW and he pushed himself and his brainless parents let him. Now, we're all paying for it. Just got back from the doctor and DS8 has flu AND strep and DD4 has flu. I can't breathe and my head is pounding and Glenn just called and said he called in a Rx for himself as he thinks he has the flu as well. Gotta run. Mommyhood calls. Will check in later.

Oh Doc...I hate to hear that!

We have been kinda scratchy throated around here....nothing big though.

I just got over the vertigo from the cruise ship, I knew that the boat wouldn't bother me but I had a feeling that I would be miserable after....I was.

I have started a trip report with pictures. Let's share some of our favorite pics!

Wow....congrats!!!

I was the same way Tara. Fine on the shop, but any sudden movements for the three days after and I got dizzy.

Janet, I hope everyone is better soon. That is miserable, and you know if you do get it you will still have to take care of everyone. Thankfully we all stayed health this trip.

I will post some pics later. Tara, yours are great. P&P party was really fun!! So glad that we did it.

I took some video of the kids at the embarkation party that almost makes nme cry when I watch it-- the beginning of our trip. It passed by WAY too fast.

Do not buy anything at the art auction or sales. I didn't bid on anything, but took the 2 "free" prints they offered. After framing and shipping....I am out a pretty penny. Since coming home, I've checked on Park West and if I only knew then what I know now....I knew the prints were basically worthless even if they represented them as otherwise. I just feel kind of stupid paying all that when it isn't a good time for me to be doing so. The framing price was just so much lower than I could get at home. The majority of online reports say their framing is bad. Live and learn.

Don't get too bent about the cost. Do the prints look good? Will they be nice to see in your house? If they bring back fond memories, they were worth it.

Finaly back home.

We spent 6 days in Orlando after the cruise; 5 at WDW, and one at the other park. The weirdest thing was having to pay for food again. I kept having to remind myself to check the prices on menues before agreeing to eat somewhere.

First I wanted to say how very much we all enjoyed meeting (most) of you. [Meaning we didn't get to meet everyone, not that we didn't enjoy meeting those of you we did] I wish now that we had more planed meets during the cruise. We spent so little time with any of you all. :guilty: Thanks again to Tara for pulling it all together. And thanks to everyone for the WONDER-ful magnets and gift bags. The magnets will really be our keepsake of the whole trip.

I don't know about you all. but we compleatly over shot our budget. Basicaly because I way under-budgeted. We got billed for almost $600 at the end of the cruise. Almost a quarter of that was for a ship-to-shore phone call Lisa made without realizing the cost.:headache: Then at WDW we spent two day's food budget in the first day! :scared1: Live and learn, I guess.

Ran into Glen & Janet (DocAndFamily) at EPCOT during the fireworks. We happened to be standing five feet from each other, and Glen picked me out'a the crowd.

Now I got'a let the cat out'a the bag; DS & I had a close encounter with a couple of Krewe members at Castaway Cay: While walking across the beach, Aaron and I were stoped by two lovely ladies lounging in the sun. One says to me, "Sir, could you take our picture?" Well, there's Steph and her sister holding out a camera to me. She obviously didn't recognize me (we had only met briefly at the meet), and I didn't want to embarase her, so I quietly took the pic of them, and moved on without saying anything. :cool2: How'd the picture turn out anyway, Steph?

I'm going to post a couple of replies, then sign off for now. We took a 6am out of Orlando, and I'm beat.

Miss you all. Miss the Wonder. Talk to ya soon.
