FEB 3, 2008 ABROAD DISNEY WONDER--Who else??

I am finally packed and ready to do! :woohoo:
I hope everyone has a safe trip!
See ya on the ship!:yay:

Sorry...but no prize Juli. ;)

We are on the DISboards......think Disney!!!! :goodvibes

It's from the "Madness of King Scar" from the broadway version of The Lion King. I'm not sure if it's in the movie too, but in the show he sings to himself "no you can't, yes I can, no you can't, yes, no, yes, no..." as he drives himself crazy thinking about Mufasa. (I could recite all of the lyrics to that show for you- besides Wicked, it's my favorite ever!- I LOVE the music!)

I'm very impressed that you looked up the lyrics though! :worship: Thanks!

See you all soon (we're just back to the room now to get some sleep). DD3 has managed to come down with a pretty harsh cold so we're resting, taking lots of vitamins, and keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't get worse- she better be able to get into that club...mommy needs some me time! :lmao:

It's practically midnight (California time) Friday. We rise in four hours to head to the airport. DW colapsed into bed hours ago. I just finished packing, literaly in the eleventh hour []. DS is too amped to sleep, and plans to stay up all night and crash on the plane. At this rate so may I. :surfweb:

I was exstactic when I loged on here (after being away from the boards for more than a day) to see we were well past 1000 posts. However, as you can see above, I was less than thrilled (as was predicted) when I read the thousandth post. Oh well.

I must sign off and try to take a nap. I'm still hoping to get to P&PP Staurday night. If so, I still gotta figure out where the Rose Garden is :confused3 .

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Looks like our Town Car will get us there closer to 10:30 or 11:00. Still plenty of time at the dock. I'm going to try for an additional upgrade, or a last minute military DIScount. I'm going to unabashedly milk the whole "returning vet" thing for all it's worth.

P.S. Don't tell her, but I got Tara "something wonderful" to thank her for all she did for us here. I wish I could buy her dinner on board too. I guess she'll have to settle for a drink.

Taking off from Orlando now. See people soon.

Met up with a few peeps last night. The fireworks were spectacular.

Hope you had a Wonderful Cruise!

I wanted to be the first to welcome you guys back home! I had a wonderful time meeting all of you. I am actually writing this from the ship before we went to bed for the 6am rise and shine!

I hope you all had as great of a time as we did. I feel great!!!

Love, Tara, Bret, and Carsyn

Still in Orlando. I saw the shuttle launch from Orlando and it was a bright speck in the sky. We'll be going to Animal Kingdom on Friday before flying out on Saturday night.

Thanks for all the magnets! Our door was well decorated this trip and many people complimented our display.

Special thanks for the various loot bags that people dropped off for our kids too, even though we weren't a part of that exchange. The kids loved the treats and surprises. Many thanks again.

We are booked for 2009 already and have another bookmarked booking for late 2009 (for 2010).

We are seriously thinking about another one THIS year!!! This time without Carsyn.

Tara

We had such a good time. Despite my way way way over tired 3 year old. I don't think we'll do land and sea together again. We'll keep them separate. Just too much for my dd.

Once we had sailed off, things settled down, and we had a blast. Emily loved coming back to the room to find magnets and goodies. She said I have the best friends ever.
Thank you all for your generosity and thoughtfulness. You really did make our cruise extra special.

Glad to see you guys posting again!!

We missed the shuttle launch. We decided to drive out because they said there was only a 30% chance it would launch. I called my sister and told her it would launch because we were headed home. Heard the eweather was beautiful.

Anyone else going through withdrawal at this point?? I have already been looking at the world for next year. Sea World also has a new waterpark with live marine animals opening in March. I want to try that.

We saw the launch from the airport. Even from there it was awesome!

I definitely want to go back. Heck I didn't want to get off. My stateroom hostess offered to hide me in her closet. lol

Sadly, we won't be cruising again for another 4 years or so. I'm about 10 weeks pregnant, and I would like to wait until baby is old enough to have fun also.

It's 9:45pm at the airport and we've been here since 2:30pm. We should've got a room at the Hyatt like last year. It's been a long day today and our flight was not only delayed but our gate changed from one side of the terminal to the other so we had to endure the TSA hell twice.

Right now, we're wishing that we were back on the boat!

Thanks again for the goodies everyone. Too bad it's not with us here at the gate.

We arrived home Thursday evening. We were both very sad our trip was over, but very happy to see DH & DS at the airport. We missed them!

Our disembarkation was completely uneventful. Budget picked us up right away and after a bit of car juggling (they gave us a car with 0% oil life & low gas), we were off to WDW for a few hours before our flight. We had quite a bit of fun shopping in DTD. We ran into our tablemates at Fultons Crabhouse. That was nice. We then shopped a bit more with them and then off to the airport.

Note to self: fill rental car with gas before getting on the turnpike.

Orlando security was crazy as usual. Some poor unfortunate toddler threw-up all over the floor by the x-ray conveyor just before our carry-ons were to come through. We stood there waiting with all the security people telling us to just wait there. Come to find out they had moved our stuff a few lines away. Glad no one took our wallets.

Short wait for boarding, takeoff on time, non-stop flight to Detroit. Walk out of airport to 27 degrees!!!:cold:

Notes for the future:
Only play the final Jackpot Bingo game. (DH has yet to see the bill from all our Bingo games).

Walk Deck 4 at least once/day to make up for all the eating.

Find out on the first night if your tablemates want to split the wine package....we defintely drank as much and would have saved some $.

Do not buy anything at the art auction or sales. I didn't bid on anything, but took the 2 "free" prints they offered. After framing and shipping....I am out a pretty penny. Since coming home, I've checked on Park West and if I only knew then what I know now....I knew the prints were basically worthless even if they represented them as otherwise. I just feel kind of stupid paying all that when it isn't a good time for me to be doing so. The framing price was just so much lower than I could get at home. The majority of online reports say their framing is bad. Live and learn.

For what we spent on Bingo & framing, I could have put a deposit on another cruise! Darn. We won't be going for quite some time. Gotta get our house sold this summer and then we'll see. DH was really happy for us and loves the idea of going on a 4-day all together now that we've tested the waters.

Hope everyone is home safe. Enjoyed meeting you guys and loved all the magnets and gifts. DS that didn't join us on the trip enjoyed putting them all over our fridge when we got home. Great reminders of a great trip.

Thank-you!

Juli

THIS IS WHAT WE GET FOR OUR THOUSANDTH POST?! "heels"? Shoe advise?

I'm ashamed of the Krewe. :sad2:

:scratchin

In retrospect, I am proud of the part I played in iliciting "heels" as our 1000th post. What could be more important before a cruise than a discussion of how many and what kind of shoes we should bring? ::yes::

:stir: :stir: :stir:

For the record, I wore said heels only once; they hurt my feet and DS said they didn't look good on me. What does he know. I think they look great. :snooty:
