Feb 20, 2011 - Presidents' Week - Mexican Riviera

Does anyone know what the Disney transfers cost per person? And do they charge for a 3 year old? I was thinking of adding them one way, since now I am freaked out about our return flight being at 12:10pm out of LAX. I thought it might be worth the extra $$$ to not have to worry about luggage. But then again, is a Disney bus going to be slower than a private van from Primetime Shuttle?

Just ordered our park hopper tickets last night! Excited!!! :cool1: Now to check out the touring plans, as we will have one and only one day in the parks! :scared1:

Yes, Disney will charge for transfers for a 3 year old. Just as in Disney's eyes, my 10 year old is an adult on excursions! :scared1: I believe transfers are $30 or $35 per person.

We also have a 12:10 flight out of LAX. We are using Exquisite Limo & Sedan Service to pick us up at the port & bring us to LAX. We have a 9:45 pick up time (although I may change it to 9:30). They told me the port is less than an hour away from LAX. The cost is $65.... so it is cheaper than paying for 3 transfers through Disney & we don't have to go on the "Disney Cattle Bus"... lol :rotfl2: Let me know if you would like their number & my contact person's name.

Okay, so you are clearly all as compulsive as I am, right?
Anyone call to get our specific movies for the cruise?
I read that you can call when there are 2 weeks or less to go and find out.
If anyone has or does, could you please post them here?

Lol Yes I am as compulsive! I was wondering the same thing. I am getting so excited counting down in "sleeps" like a little kid, I think I have packed my suitcase atleast 3 times already. Dishy could you share your transfer info thanks.

I usually bring plastic bags for dirty clothes but I love the idea of the pop up hamper. I'm sure I'll still have a problem with people putting dirty clothes on the floor but I am going to give it a try.
.

I like this pop-up hamper idea!!! May have to steal that one! I always bring a few strong magnetic hooks or clips to put on the back of the stateroom door (or connecting cabin door) to hang lanyards, invitations etc. on. I always bring the highlighters for the Naviagator as well.

Haven't called but I looked at the Navigators someone posted from the first MR cruise and they had Tron, Tangled, Toy Story 3 and I think one other in 3D. They also had Secretariat and a few others non 3D. Not sure there are any new Disney movies opening in the next few weeks so I would guess we will see these movies. When we cruised last year the Frog Princess opened while we were on the cruise and they showed it at midnight on opening day plus a number of other times during the cruise. That was really neat.

Being completely practical- an extra pair of glasses.
We are also trying a mini pop up hamper to see if it would work better than tossing all our dirty laundry in a corner of the room.

Oooh, good ideas! Hey, Bruins, were you on the Magic over President's Week of 2009? Or am I thinking of someone else from DIS?

The new movies are "Gnomeo and Juliet" and "I Am Number Four."

Hi, preedymtnwest,

I think the online checkin may automatically block the earlier check-in time based on your flight information. The same thing also happened to me initially; then I was able to choose one of the early check-in time, a day after removing the pre-cruise flight info.

Thanks! Interesting to know. So you removed your arrival flight info? We made our own arrangements, so I don't know why DCL needs to know, unless they really check to make sure all flights have arrived on time and hold the boat if they're late -NOT!! I still need to call and check on Palo ressies that we made for Tuesday before we knew it was Formal Night..... So I'll ask about arrival, but everything I've read so far says it's mostly for the Dream and that they won't make you wait for your assigned time. I hope!

I read somewhere that Gnomeo and Juliet and I am 4 will both be playing. Don't quote me on that but I think I've seen that mentioned on both Cruise Critic and maybe an earlier Feb. MR meet group.

Ooops, sorry for the repeat, LKFan beat me to it. :)

Dishy could you share your transfer info thanks.

Sure thing! If anyone with a 12:10 (or close) flight is inerested in sharing a larger vehicle to LAX on the 27th, we would be interested. We are a party of 2 adults & 1 child. :woohoo:

Nice! How did the get on this late?

Hi Tad,
we are in rooms right across the hall from you (1037 & 1039) I have a DS 5.5 (Peter) who would LOVE to meet Aria :-) knock anytime. We are also traveling with grandma (in 1039) and my DH & DS 9 (Greg). We didn't get on the list in time for the FE (we were to begin with but then were out of town when it was finalized, etc) so aren't doing it this year but are decorating the door with magnets, etc and will be at the 3pm meet on the first day. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

thanks,
betsy

It truly is a Small Small World isn't it... we will be at the 3 pm meeting as well.
So does Peter like, does he like airplanes or does Greg? I am in the aerospace field and I have lots of opportunities to get little trinkets that one can't usually get anywhere else. I was also looking for an opportunity to get something nice(er) for one of the Fish extenders kids. Just to make it extra special. We got in late to the FE program, I don't expect to get something from everyone, but we do plan on giving a little something to everyone. Aria and I are looking forward to meeting you. My parents are in a room right next to us but can't remember their number at the moment. so we will have two doors to decorate too, we are gathering the supplies now.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Tad

it is a small world! my DH was an aerospace engineeer at UCLA and both kids are airplane nuts (great grandpa was an engineer for the skunkworks) but don't do anything special for them at all. I consider them ridiculously spoiled just to get to go on this trip ;) we were out of town when the FEs got finalized and just decided there would be plenty of 'surprises' just with all of the activities so aren't doing the FEs this year but will drop a little treat in yours for Aria :) Looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a pic of my boys so you know who to say hi to!

Thanks for the movie info.--I'm excited about that! We'll probably take advantage of a movie on one of the sea days.

I'm counting the "sleeps" as well--we fly out to L.A. on Friday the 18th, so 10 more sleeps for us! Yay!
