Feb.13th(lucky for some) 2010 Eastern Valentines Cruise - The Love Boat Sails Again !

Got an e-mail today saying that our tour for St Thomas (booked with Air Force One Tours, which we have used several times before) has been canceled! It says that they "have to cancel ALL tours to attend a very important meeting that day". :confused3:confused3

Oh well....back to square one for Wednesday I guess!

That's crazy! We are going to "wing it" for the entire cruise and take things as they come :cool1:

mygr8kdz - Sorry to hear about your Dad. We have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Barbara - We are also going to wing it. We just want to lounge at the beach, and feel like we'll be able to do that on our own without any problems.

I haven't thought about packing clothes yet, but am starting to worry about how to pack all my beer/wine/margaritas in a carry on and how I will lug it around for Sat afternoon :) I have looked EVERYWHERE for a big soft cooler on wheels and have not had any luck finding one.

Kim, check Sam's Club (if you have one near by) ours had soft sided coolers on wheels :)

I have not packed any clothes BUT I have 1-bottle of Pineapple Rum, 1-bottle of Mango Rum, 2-bottles of TGI Friday's Pina Colda w/rum, 2 bottles of Wine and ONE BLENDER! Oh and my FE Exchange gifts. Clothes....hum do I need clothes? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We are leaving Virginia Friday morning @ 7a.....please please please NO more snow!

Barbara - Sam's here doesn't have one...Brooke checked Sam's in SC too. None :(

Well shoot.....if we didn't have 21in of snow on the ground here I would go get you one tomorrow and overnight it you! Maybe you can find one in Cape Canaveral (town) before you get on the ship? There is plenty of shopping there and it is only 5miles from the port? I would suggest Daytona BUT with the race being on Sunday that place will be crazy!

If there is anything I can do to help let me know :confused3

SOON we will all leave ALL of this SNOW behind and be enjoying the sunshine of the Caribbean!! :cool1:

I checked the weather for Port Canaveral next Saturday...high of only 66 and mostly sunny, so dress according. I guess long pants and a jacket are inorder for the first day :confused3 But that's OK anything beats 21 inches of SNOW!

6 DAYS left!!!

I was all ready to buy a rolling soft cooler on ebay, and Diane found one for me. So, I'm all set.

Joy, did you send out the final list with my room number? I want to make sure we don't get left out :)

Barbara, at least the weather changed for Orlando. When I looked yesterday it said hi of 62 and light rain! I want NO rain. I guess it won't be a good afternoon to hang at the pool though...

Final FE list was just sent! Woo Hoo! We're soooooo close! I can smell the salt air already.

Kim - I was going to offer you our rolling cooler for the trip but it seems you have one. We aren't using ours as we aren't bringing anything on board (I can do without mountain dew for the week). What little alcohol we drink - we can buy onboard.

See you all VERY soon!

-joy

To all our fellow Louisiana Cruisers: Can we have a "Who Dat?" Day? Whoo Hooo!

Hi All:

I'm back from our RV rally, it was a great week of meeting RVing friends, looking at new RVs, buying RV stuff from vendors, attending RV seminars and lots of entertainment. The weather could have been better, but at least we are not digging out of snow. My family in South Jersey is dealing with 24 inches. I hope you all have no problems getting to port this week.

DH is trying to figure out how to pack my booze in our carryon. I am looking around for a small bag on wheels, but I am not too concerned. I am concentrating on getting a decent wardrobe together, we don't own a lot, as there is not much room in an RV closet. Keeps life simple. We do own Pirate hats and t-shirts, Mardi gras beads and other very important stuff that makes life fun.

I talked to DCL yesterday, don't have cruise docs yet. They just UPSed them to my South Dakota mail drop :scared1:. Not to worry. Our online registration is finished and there is nothing in it we cannot access on line:thumbsup2

Setting alarm clock 4 AM to watch the shuttle launch. A night launch is incredible, even from 50 miles away. Everybody be safe on the road or in the sky. Saturday is just around the corner.:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi Linda,

I can't wait to hear your RV stories!!!! Last year, we pretty much went casual most of the cruise. This year again I tried not to pack to much clothing. If it doesn't fit, in my carry on suitcase, it's not going. Let me say this is the most challenging.

Glad you can check in on line!!!

Congrat to all of you Louisiana Cruisers & fans. Great game :thumbsup2

Can't believe we only have a few more days. Lots of stuff left to do.

While I am a bit jealous of those up north, it was nice to be able to get out of my driveway this morning and not have to shovel. By the way any chance that snow will be part of the FE gifts??:rotfl2:

Anyone heading to Florida/Disney early definitely bring an extra sweater and poncho. Although the forecast changes every day it is supposed to be a bit cooler (I know you will laugh at me). But the cloud cover and wind has made for some chilly days. And rain is in the forecast as well.

Hope it all is done by Wed and everyone has a safe trip to the port.

Not being funny here.... what do you mean by "cooler" and "chilly"? We are packed as of yesterday, and the thought of adding more clothes makes me cringe. I'm such a bad packer, and I always feel that I have taken the "wrong" things but somehow still have TOO MUCH! - To start adding/subtracting now will put me over the deep end! :scared1:

Right now (in Tampa which is only an hour from Orlando) it is 61. But it is clear skies and the sun is out, so it is beautiful. The original forecast for the week was mid 50s with rain. But that seems to change everyday. I would say as long as you have a sweatshirt or light jacket and a pair or pants you will be fine. But if you are spending a few days at Disney and plan to walk around the parks alot, especially after the sun goes down, you may need to bundle up a bit more than normally expected. Either that or add an extra bottle of wine to the carryon! :rotfl2:

No cruise docs here either BUT no matter to me....I have everything printed and can get luggage tags at the pier ;)

I for one am SO ready for this cruise. Today we have a total of 20 inches of snow on the ground and another 6-8 coming tomorrow. Have I mentioned that I live in CENTRAL VIRGINIA? :confused3

Not packed yet but hope to get that done tomorrow night. We hit the road 7a Friday :banana::banana:
