If you were able to book a pkg w/the pin code, was it just a discount on the room portion, or did it include free ticket upgrades similar to the current offer for Canadians?

I'm asking because I was able to use a pin for a room-only ressie but think we might be better off going with a pkg so we can add DDP.

We just booked Sunday with a pin code, and got a room discount and the ticket upgrade.

Thank you mandysmom -- that's just what I wanted to hear!!! :thumbsup2

Based on the past offerings and the fact that the Canadian discount has a disclaimer stating that a Canadian address is required to book before November 1st, I figure that this same package will be offered in the US within the next week.

I'm curious to know what others with either the Canadian discount or the pin code have paid for a value resort package. I know the stated price is $385 per adult for 4 nights with a 5 day hopper. I'm just wondering what a total might look like with kids at a value resort for any amount of days.

Based on the $385 per adult....I think I backed out the numbers and figured out that the room is $69 per night for a value resort (before tax). I just wanted to see if the numbers were the same when kids are added to the reservation.

It's really going to vary depending on the dates. My stay is during President's Day weekend and was $99/nt for a room only reservation.

Ah...yes....you are correct.

I'm looking for value season (January - early February)....pin code or Canadian code for the free ticket upgrade package on a value resort with kids on the package.

Thanks for pointing that out....

I booked with the pin code with 2 adults, 2 youths (ds 12 and dd 11...adult for tickets but free in the rooms), std room at WL for Jan 30 - Feb 3 for $1766.62. Rack rate with base tickets would have been $1933. I don't know if this helps you or not, as you were asking about value resorts.

It doesn't help me, but it looks like you got a pretty good deal. We usually don't opt for the hopper option on the tickets because we usually go for 7 nights. I think the hoppers come in real handy on shorter trips....like 3 or 4 nights. You can maximize your days and evenings with the hopper option.

We are going for 8 nights in February. We are considering the hoppers this time because we will be a party of 17 (4 families). I think the hoppers will probably help us to be able to split up on some days and meet in the evening at a certain park.

Disney will send guests (no one knows how they choose) emails or postcards that have some type of discount offer...it is usually a letter code that is similar to what they use for the general public but then it also has a number code that can only be used by the person it's addressed to...that is the pin code. So call and see if there is one attached to your name if you are traveling to WDW anytime soon.

Just out of curiosity - has anyone ordered the DVD Vacation Planner and THEN received a postcard with a pin code sometime afterward? That happened to me last year so I was planning on ordering the new DVD and cross my fingers for a pin code for later in the year. Just wondering.

Yes...there have been a couple of people that posted recently about receiving a pincode offer after ordering the DVD -- so it definitely appears that's one of the things that triggers an offer.

I know this is a little OT...but, did the planning video change any since the beginning of this year? In other words, is there a new 2008 version out now? I hate to request another video of the same one I received early this year.

Sorry -- don't know about the planning video. You should probably order one either way and then just pass it along to a friend if it's the same one you already have.

Well, I called to see about changing my room-only to a package and the price I was quoted worked out to be exactly what came up on the website without any discounts. So...I don't know if the pincode I had coud not be applied to packages or if the person helping me didn't understand what I was trying to do. I ended the call by just keeping the room-only.

I guess I'll try again later today. One thing I'm wondering is if the pincode that includes the free ticket upgrade is a minimum of four nights...because we were only going for three, so that could be why the rate I was given didn't reflect the discount.

When you call to ask if you have a pin code, what is the correct terminology to use? If you say, "Do I have a pin code?", will they know what you're talking about? Also, when I call, should I ask about my name and my husband's name, or are we lumped together?

Thanks!
