Or should I say turbulance.
I have a flight with my husband and 3 year old daughter this weekend to Disney......and fortunately it's a direct flight. But I'm already nervous about it....especially seeing the stormy weather that's going to be going on in the midwest on saturday.

So, tell me I'm not alone. And how do those of you who feel like you're going to plunge to your deaths (not too dramatic huh?;) ) when turbulance strikes, try and calm yourselves down?!

I try to involve myself as much as I can with my daughter...but when we start bumping around...my mind just can't be distracted!

Please help!! :scared:

I don't like to fly - how about hate it.

but when the plane starts going up and down and to the side - I just like to pretend it is a ride at WDW.

I do something you can't do. I listen to tapes or CD. or read my book - one of those books that you don't care what the rest of the world is doing....

You can't get that into something with a child.

this question was kinda asked a while ago - someone else suggested drugs - depends upon how you feel about that.

Captain Tom is wonderful; a little Xanax is better. Or Ativan. These are short-acting tranquilizers. I HATE to fly and years back a flight I was scheduled for was cancelled. I panicked that "my medicine was wearing off" and took more (my doc had told me the safe limits). Before baording the plane we finally got on, I took a little more. MAN WAS THAT A GOOD FLIGHT... The clouds were so pretty and the food tasted really good... My hubby kept shushing me, saying I was talking REALLY LOUD... Hey, it's good to be stoned!

Seriously, enough Xanax and you won't care if the plane does an emergency landing in a volcano. Talk to your doc, and have hubby keep and eye on your daughter AND you! :)

Also if you fly Song or JetBlue (maybe some others too) there are seatback TVs which will help keep your mind off the fact that you are on an airplane. Lots of channels, some music, and trivia games. You can even track your flight to see how far you are from WDW!!!

Good luck,
Bob

I am the exact opposite. A flight just is not fun for me unless there is some turbulence. I even enjoy sitting in the back of the plane where the turbulence is most severe. You should request seats near the front where the sensations of turbulence are less intense.

Just take a little Lorazepam. That's what I do. I am scared to death to fly and it works great without making me drowsy. Debby

You shoudl just try reading a book or listening to music.... it really does help or most of time what I do is that I just go to sleep while Im on the plane...I have the habit of doing that... :disrocks:
