FEA wait times dropping??

i am so torn between doing a rope drop for FEA and keeping our breakfast at Garden Grill, doing Soarin' next and then making our way to FEA. This morning at 9:30 the wait time for FEA was 90 min, at 10 it was 105 and now it's 60. What to do?!?! Man I just wish I had a FP (along with everyone else, I know!)

Patience!!!

If it was me, I would keep my ADR for Garden Grill. But then you must plan on waiting in line.
A little over a week ago the line was never less than 90 minutes and often more. We went into a 90 minute posted waiting line at about 8:30 and we rode in a little over 30 minutes. I have read that the line waits are exaggerated near closing and that is what we experienced

We're facing the same thing in May, of course I still have time to (hopefully) score a fast pass, but I know they are so hard to get. We have an 8am GG reservation for our Epcot day, and I guess if we have to we'll just stand in line for FEA. .

This morning at 9:06 am the FEA wait time was already 45 minutes! I'm worried that even Rope Drop won't guarantee a short line, so I think we're just going to have to take our chances and possibly wait in a long line.

What time is your Garden Grill ressie? I would make it for like 10am, and head to FEA first thing. Get there at 8:15 to be in the front of the rope crowd and go right there.

I have an 8:25 GG and I did get a frozen FP through coordinating with a member here! Woot!!!

We also went close to closing and the wait was posted at 120 minutes. We waited 45.

For what it's worth- we were at Epcot on Halloween. We were at the main gate (not international gateway) and around 8:00 for 9:00 opening. There were 2 families ahead of us in line for the ticket scanners. I don't know if Epcot normally opens around 8:30-8:40, but it did the day we were there. Once they started letting people in, it was very controlled since each person had to scan their ticket or band (not the stampede at MK rope drop).

We walked quickly to Norway, walked through the queue, and got right on a boat. Ride was done in a few minutes, and we probably could have gotten in line to do it a second time and not have much of a wait, but we lined up for Anna and Elsa meet and greet instead (lined up at about 8:50, the M&G didn't open until 9).

According to the wait time app, the ride wait time stayed below 30 mins until about 11:00 (the day we were there).

We happened upon a PPO Akershus reservation the day before our Epcot day and I'm so glad we rope dropped instead. For how pricey character dines are, I would rather be able to relax and enjoy it than be watching the clock and rushing out.

I wouldn't count on wait times going down. Couple reasons:
  • Ride has a limited throughput/capacity
  • It's slow to load
  • They're putting 75%+ of capacity into FP+
  • There just aren't many "woo woo!" attractions at Epcot to distract people from it, let alone woo woo attractions with no height requirement that let parents hit a few drink carts before/after :drinking1but still have the ability to say, "oh, but we had to go back that way because Elsa!"

Keep in mind that FEA seems to be down for technical problems pretty often. So if you cancel your breakfast then find that FEA is down at rope drop that morning will you be disappointed? Just something to consider.
