It is just my husband and I traveling on an Alaskan Cruise. I love the idea of the FE and would like to participate but is it really meant for kids?

No. I've done FEs on 3 different cruises and there's just DH & me. :goodvibes

Absolutely you can join. I had a lot of fun with it and we don't have kids. I've already decided on some of my gifts for next year!

This is my first FE and I asked the same question (it's our 10th anniversary and we are leaving the kids home). I was told that we were more than welcome to participate!

It's just me and DH going on our cruise and it's just fine! There is also a couple that is grandparent age that have signed up.

Disney is for all children, even children at heart. In the same sense, so are FE's :)

For our FE (my first), our list is broken down by adult vs kids (by age groups), even male vs female, so we have the option to vary the gifts. Although some of my gifts are generic to everyone, I chose to give the adults a few different items than the kids/tweens/teens. I'm also mindful to give age-appropriate items to the younger kids.

I agree. If you're on a Disney cruise, you're young at heart!

I always thought it was for cruisers who wanted to exchange gifts. I gave adults mini bottles of rum for pirate night. The kids had fun kid stuff and candy. Adults get the good stuff ;)

We are going on our first cruise and have 11 adults in our party. We are all particpating. It's all part of the Disney magic!:goodvibes

My sister and I are participating. I'm 67 and she is 56! It is for everyone!

I'm going on our first Alaska cruise this year as well, and from what I have heard on the Alaska cruises you will find more couples than you would on the more traditional cruises. On our particular FE, there are 16 cabins participating and only 6 of them have children! It is definitely for adults as well. I encourage you to sign up, you will have a blast meeting people before your cruise and the FE is so much fun!!!

Glad to hear this - I was wondering about it myself. Going on my first cruise and didn't know if we should even try as it is just Hubby and I.

I think about 2/3 of the rooms on our cruise last trip were childless, a mixed bag of couples/friends/etc. Lots of adult-oriented gifts, though I was pleasantly surprised at how many people got stuff specifically for DS4 even though they didn't have any chilluns themselves.

We are participating on our upcoming cruise and we have kids. I think it is fun for everyone who wants to join in, kids or no kids! It's a DIS thing:love::banana:

Exactly!!!

Go for it! It's fun!

DW and I did the FE on our first cruise and got a kick out of seeing what was waiting for us when we returned to the cabin. We're signed up for the FE on our next cruise (in May) and I've recruited my adult kids to help out delivering the gifts. I think they are more excited about it than I was.

There are twice as many adults signed up for our next FE as kids. Had we known in time for our kid-free honeymoon last year, we would have done it. We get separate gifts for the adults vs. the kids.
