I've been reading the boards but can't find answers to a few questions.
1) how do I notify the FE group if my cabin changes on embarkation day?
2) I understand how the FE works, but can anyone give suggestions as to organizing for an easy delivery?
What works best for you?

It usually works best if you have one person who has a list of any changes on their door. You could put a note outside the door of your old room with your new number if you are able to contact the person who is now in that room [if anyone is].

On the classic ships I organize in order of room number and deliver by deck. I had things organized that way on the Fantasy, but found that it was easier to deliver by deck going forward, midship and aft.

We did or First Cruise and FE in June. Our FE organizer was fantastc and created a map of the ship with each of the members rooms highlighted with te name. We used that Map and our list of family stats to roam the ship for delivery. He also had a white board on his door for any changes etc and we had a meet-greet as we disembarked. Unfortunately it rained and many of us missed it. If your group isnt as organized I would do your FE the first night so you can notify your FE members where you are. We had great communication before our trip so we basicly knew who was still waiting for room assignments before we boarded.

Delivery really depends on what you give. We had some beautiful handmade personalized bags, personalized 16 oz cups that must have made it easier to deliver because they doubled as wrapping. I'm not crafty so I used birthday gift bags and filled with things from our neck of the woods with custome bracelets. Each bag had a Disney christmas nametag and I tied each rooms together with yarn so they didnt sperate until I took them apart at each cabin. Bigger gifts were hung on fish hook or door with bigger bags. Remember the FE's tend to be like very large Mail holders. Each pocket isnt very big so consider that when you package your gifts. If they are tall , top heavy, or bulky you may need to have something more study (paper gift bag) if they fit easily in FE plastic gift bags/boxes will be fine.

BTW on the Dream it took our family of 5 about an hour to deliver to our twelve families. The ship is HUGE and some of the inner halls can be hard to find. The kids thought this was one of the best things we did on the ship. Our best souvorniers came From the FE.We had quite a crafty group! It was like christmas everyday!

Have fun!

We also did it by deck in the morning. There was some zigging and zagging so this year I might look at doing it by Aft, Middle, you get the idea. Good way to get familiar with the ship!

On the Dream or Fantasy, definitely use the Forward, Mid, Aft approach. Divide the gifts first by area of the ship and then by deck. Then when you go to each area, start at the top and work your way down (to avoid having to get on and off elevators). :thumbsup2

Yep - that's what we did - took 2 hours (all stairs, no elevators).

We only had one cabin participating on deck 2, so we dropped it off on our way to dinner in Enchanted Garden.

Hey I was just going to say how awesome our FE leader was!!! That map was priceless!!

I did all the afts up and down, then moved to front, then Middle - way easier than going by deck the way our cabins were spread out.

I tried to group my things by room so when I got there I wasn't worried about sorting them all out.

SO fun!!! Our FE group ROCKED!!! :)

It really Did:thumbsup2 Rob was great doing those maps. I think on our Fantasy 2014 Trip I will do Afts up down. We were lucky that so many were on same decks but doing it by section instead of decks sounds faster. I might just do it in several smaller trips on the way to something instead of all at once. We used more time then we wanted on our 1st CC day but the FE was so awsom that it was worth it.

Thanks for your part in making our First DCL trip so welcomimg:goodvibes
