We have annual passes (2 adults, 1 child) and are currently booked with free dining. We had to add the 2 day pass for each of us, paying $451. We do not plan on buying AP next year (this was a once time thing for us). So can someone please help me with the benefit of this scenario?? Everyone says we can "upgrade" them on a future visit . . but if the difference between a 5 day and 7 day pass is so minimal, am I just decreasing the worth of these tickets? Can I use the adult passes for a child and just use all 6 for my child on a different visit? But $451 would be more expensive than a 6 day child pass. I just don't want to be paying more than I need to. I need some experienced DISers to help me out! Thank you so much!!

I have AP and it's tough wanting free dining, but then what to do with tickets.

I hate having tickets unused to hold onto for the future.... reason being, because when that future trip comes and I book it and there's another free dining or other deal going on, then I need to add tickets AGAIN to get that deal... which already am holding onto them from a past trip unused. So I guess I look at it as not spend the money on the tickets now... spend the money on them next time when including them as package to get whatever deal or free dining going on then.

Try doing the math with a % off room instead of free dining and see how that compares - nothing out now, but surely something will come out.
